Leo stirred from his unconscious state for a moment. To see that he was being carried by a naked totally freaking hot brunette. Wasn't there some sort of religion that said warriors got carried into heaven by hot women? Rock on, so someone finally got it right.
"Must be dead." He muttered, and as Rae moved he felt a weight in what was left of his pants shift. With a jingle his keys fell out of his pocket, jingling as they hit the earth.
And shortly thereafter Leo was out again.

Angela continued to fuss, unaware of how irritating the man carrying Kennedy thought her to be. When Scythe put Kennedy to his feet, Angela was dithering about all anew, tuning out Karmine's voice of reason.
"Kennedy you're so brave! And so stupid! Look at you! You're barely standing on your own," The drama concerning Raelena, Cylo, and Kirien was ignored, but when 'Michael' Blythe announced what his power was, Angela's desperation kicked into overdrive.
"Come over here right this instant! My fiance is injured and you can heal him. Hurry!" But her impatience was incredible. She abandoned Kennedy and grabbed the young boy Karmine was trying to convince to leave, and whom Kirien was holding an impromptu inquisition with, and dragged him over to her lover.
"You're going to be okay," Angela promised, "we're going to be okay!"
Yes, overdramatic. But Angela Wingrose had never been a very subtle girl.

Karmine had enough of this fiasco. So he instead grabbed Angela by the shoulders.
"ANGELA!" He shouted at her. "Restrain yourself, Kennedy is fine and you are in no condition to be here if Nia wakes up! You HAVE to get out of here NOW!" Karmine was in serious mode, Angela was going to make this much worse then it had to be.
"I am going on ahead. If you are coming, you better follow quickly. How I don't care, but I can't keep waiting, lives are in danger and I'm not sending Kiri in there alone."
And with that he released his wings and took off into the sky.

"Umm..." Casey offered nervously. He could see his plan crumbling around him, and it didn't look like things were going to turn out well. He'd have to lie some more, or appear intensely useful. "The charcoal guy? Yeah, he's going to need a transfusion. Um, if you get someone with a regen Gift or whatever and give him some of your blood, well, it uh, should heal him."
That's what the Agents did. Casey should know, he had to give blood often enough. He shifted closer to Kennedy, nervously looking over at the heroic man. Maybe Casey could tag along with them? Kennedy and Angela were the type of people who thought with their hearts first, and their heads second, after all.
"Er, I swear I'll be helpful," he murmured. How exactly did you prove something like that? No, Casey's best bet was to try and appeal to Kennedy and Angela. Else he was screwed. "I'll go with them..." he murmured, shuffling closer to the lovey dovey couple.

Micheal's shifting allowed Kennedy to pick up the Regen Gift. He could feel his body shifting, and his one would quickly took care of itself, leaving Kennedy in perfect shape.
Which was good, because he clearly needed all of his mental faculties at the moment.
"Karmine, quit yelling, that's not helping anyone," he ordered, shaking his head. "I'll grab Angela, Michael, Leo," he waved at the pile of charcoal that used to be a cocky human, "and we'll head for the Cave first. Hopefully we can hang out there. If not, we'll head for a safehouse in Illinois. You have my cell number, call me and I'll give you the directions..."
He shook his head, holding up a finger, "Better yet, just save Morgan and ask her. She'll know where I'm headed."
Sighing, Kennedy headed over to Leo, remembering the young man's Gift. Kennedy's Gifts shifted yet again, and he felt the combination slide into place.
Kinetic Manipulation. Flight. Regen.
He was good to go. To get out of there, fast.
"The only regen we have is Michael," mused Kennedy aloud. "But I don't like the idea of taking anyone we don't have to."
He walked over and gently picked up Leo, shifting him gently. "My dad could heal him... but Pickneyville's a ways from here..."
Take Michael's suggestion? Transfuse the kid's strange blood? Or try and see if Leo could hold out? Could they really gamble someone's life? But with someone else's?
why couldn't this ever be easy?

"Righ', so th' wolves, th' lizards, some bugs, an' a pair o' demon lovers," Rae rolled her eyes. "Been wit' worse when attackin' I suppose...."
She watched Kennedy as he walked around. Something about this Michael kid didn't smell quite right, and she wasn't quite so willing to trust someone who showed up after all the fighting was done. That was a good way to find a knife in your back. And she really didn't want to let a traitor out of her sight, certainly not with the two love birds.
"Ye ken, ye could give th' lad some o' m'blood," offered Rae, jerking her head toward Leo. "I heal as fast as one o' ye weirdos, an' ye ken ye can trust me."
Her eyes flicked to Micheal, narrowing. "O' course, he be a wolf..."
Rae shook her head, flicking a finger, "Ye ken aboot it fir a while. Run off tae m'Cave. We need tae get movin'."
She turned. "Eryk, ye follow me, ye ken? Or th' gabby redhead."
Rae then tossed aside the clothing so thoughtfully provided, and quickly shifted back to the russet furred wolf. Thus garbed, she started padding forward, pausing to look over her shoulder at Karmine.

"Fine!" Kirien said huffily, thoroughly amused that Cylo didn't realize she liked to be carried. She thought she might surprise him further by refusing to give up her position, but soon enough, there were other things on her mind.
Like honeymoons. Of all things for Karmine to say! Luckily, his jacket landed on her head just in time to hide her very red face, and smother the peculiar, disgruntled noises she was making. She wasn't fully aware what he was implying, but she knew about honeymoons, and she knew she didn't like being teased, and that was enough.
She kept her face hidden until she was certain that she had herself under control, and the color of her cheeks had faded to a light pink by the time she removed the coat. She dropped it rather carelessly to the ground, and her axe fell behind Cylo, straight down so it wouldn't hit him. And then began the squirming.
"Let go! I won't go back, let..."
Thud.
She landed on her behind on the ground, and shortly after taking that hit, had another teasing comment shot at her by Rae. And her cheeks were slightly darker than 'light pink' again. Scowling, she made to offer the lycan her cloak, but Rae had already shifted back into her more furry form.
She picked up Karmine's coat, draped it over Cylo's shoulders, then took up her handaxe again.
"Let's go!"
She didn't care about saving anyone, because she didn't know anyone, but she was always up for a fight. Especially when her two redheaded friends were involved. The anticipation was making her antsy, and she started swaying back and forth, trying to release some of the adrenaline she was building.

Angela gasped as Karmine took her aside and slapped some sense into her. She clutched the dufflebag defensively.
"I'm coming," she insisted. Anywhere Kennedy went, she would go. She was still extremely confused as to where Karmine was going, and where Kennedy planned on going... Kennedy! Oh he was healed! Angela turned around just as Karmine vanished into the sky, and threw her arms around her man, relief washing through her. Finally she was able to think clearly again.
"I think I might have forgotten to pack your underwear," She confessed, slipping a hand in his when she pulled away.

Cylo was in turn amused at how flustered Kirien was getting. It was almost unbearably cute seeing her in that state, especially knowing her and how it was very likely every shred of her being was trying to resist it. He considered commenting on just how adorable it was, just to further aggravate things, but he decided she was in a dangerous enough mood as it was, and he'd already lost enough bits of himself to last him at least til the next day.
Speaking of which, he looked down at his injured hand as Kirien freed herself from his grasp and cringed. It was looking pretty ugly down there. It would heal soon enough, but phalanges aren't exactly quick to regenerate, even for a demon.
He snapped out of it, though, when Kirien slid the jacket onto his shoulders, and he obediently put his arms through the sleeves. It fit pretty well, considering, but really didn't make up for the lack of pants. It wasn't exactly bathing suit season, either.
"Yeah, let's," he agreed, loathe to give Karmine too much of a head start. He considered a few different options for how to bring Kirien along, and decided to just pick her up bridal style again. Making her fast could work, but she wouldn't be as fast as him, or as used to it, and she would still have short legs. Carrying her piggyback style or on his shoulders would work at a walking pace, but running full speed she would be bounced around like mad and she probably wouldn't appreciate that.
So he scooped her up again, not bothering to ask her permission this time either, and took off after Karmine.
"I'll run, you navigate," he said to his passenger, nearly bursting out in laughter as he pictured amazed onlookers spotting a red-haired guy in a jacket and boxers running by in a blur, carrying another redhead with an axe in her hands. He had a funny feeling they would end up in the newspaper if they got too close to an inhabited area.

Post by Ϛ Jamie Matthews on Jan 26, 2009 16:03:08 GMT -5
Jamie, not being an official student of the Academy, had managed to sneak out of the antechamber once he figured out what was going on. He knew he should listen to the Academy people, but if they weren't going to do anything anyway, he wanted to leave and think about something happier. He had learned it was never a good idea to dwell on the bad things when he couldn't change them.
However, it wasn't long before a commotion began in the room he'd just left, and his curiosity started to get the better of him. He guessed that it was probably just people disagreeing with the Academy's plan, which he sort of expected, so he didn't bother going back to investigate.
It was impossible for him to ignore the goings-on, though, when the sounds of combat broke out. For a moment he was too stunned that the whole thing would come to blows to actually move, but he eventually made his way over to the doors and peered in.
What he saw scared him out of his wits, basically. Some of the people he knew and liked were fighting the very people who educated and protected them, and even if he wanted to step in, he wouldn't know which side to fight for. For the time being, he simply withdrew and hid around a corner, panting in an exasperated manner.
And then there was an explosion.
Barely containing a shriek of fright, he froze for a moment before his 'hero-instinct' kicked in; there were probably people who needed his help in there now! He decided it didn't matter which side he helped; he would go in there and heal everyone who needed it, regardless of who they were. It was his responsibility, like how Spiderman had to use his powers for the good of everyone, not just himself.
By the time he got to the Antechamber, the 'Insurgents' had more or less cleared out, and when he took a look at the destruction, it seemed to him that they lady who had been making the speech earlier was by far the worst off. This made her his first priority, and he rushed straight over to where she was, kneeling beside her immobile body. She seemed to have burns covering most of her body, as well as broken bones from the blast. Jamie did his best to set the bones before he started.
Normally, healing wounds this severe by his method of accelerated natural healing could have side-effects like premature aging, but when used on an immortal, the effect was negligible. Nia would be tired, that was certain, but otherwise she would be nearly as good as new.
Jamie tried to stand up and move on to the next person, but his small body couldn't handle losing the amount of energy he had used up healing Nia, and his legs buckled before he could even put his weight on them. Still, he tried to make it to the next injured person, dragging himself along feebly with his arms.
I probably look pretty silly right now, he thought hazily, and a weak sort of giggle escaped his lips.

Eryk glanced up at his alpha and nodded his tail giving a wag. He glanced over to the friends who weren't going and envied them. They weren't going to go risk their lives, they got to go hide. Something Eryk was very good at doing. But if he knew Kennedy at all he would probably want to go too. He'd want to save his sister.
Hey, if Kennedy is healed how come he ain't comin? Eryk asked not at all worried that anyone would over hear. His feet started after Karmine not wanting to get left behind. He noticed Eve stayed exactly by Rae's side. No matter where the russet wolf moved Eve moved. Anyone else got close? She gave a look he thought could only come from his father. Who was this girl to Rae?
What's with the raven bada**? She like your body guard or something? Still following Karmine he didn't mind teashing Rae a bit in the process.
And the massive, sadistic, war dragon fled the supreme annoyance of the blond woman. Before he decided to rip out her voice box. Yank, tear, gouge. His feet ran along under the bug in an easy jog. Thanking the war lords of his ancestors that that woman was not coming with.[/font]

OoC: Kennedy, Michael, Leo, Angela, and anyone else who's with the insurgents but not attacking should now move to Waystation. Rae got a car, made someone else drive, and is on her way to the St. Louis place. I'm posting in What Lovely Specimens right now, but we might switch to another thread as a mutual gathering, we'll hash it out elsewhere.
