Special. It seemed a lot of people were describing him like that nowadays. He could remember a time when he was just plain old Ithica and the only thing people thought was special about him was... well, nobody had really thought of him as special. He rested his head against the wall. He couldn't see why people were saying it. Ithica certainly hadn't changed. Had he? "I understand his reason for lying. So let's not talk about it."
He heard a stone skip across the pavement and huffed. "You wouldn't like it if a stone kicked you across the ground." Ithi said. He was, after all, the defender of inanimate objects. Did rocks count as inanimate? He had never actually tried to Animate a stone. He looked down at it but decided that this wasn't the time to learn more about his Trait.
When Ryan spoke of being hungry he turned with a grin. "Oh! Yes, let's go somewhe--" But then Ryan finished his sentence, and Ithi's grin faltered. "S-somewhere with churros." He ended quietly. "I like churros." The half-demon took a step backwards - away from Ryan. He turned and continued walking in that direction. "There are probably churros here somewhere! Churros churros churros!" He sang, sniffing out the pastry hopefully.
All right, so Ithi actually wasn't sure if he could stomach food after learning he was a treacherous polygamous freakazoid. "Oh, and yeah. I...l-love you." He was kind of hoping that Ryan didn't hear his answer. That way he could say that he had answered the question, and not be lying about it. But with his luck lately he doubted that plan would work out. He was a secretive treacherous polygamous freakazoid.

Ryan hid a smile as he saw Ithica revert back to the old happy-carefree Ithica that he had become accustomed to. It was a pleasant change, which meant that things might have been settling themselves inside of his (Ithica's) head and Ryan didn't want to press too hard, too much longer; right at that very moment. He did take a glance down to the rock that he had kicked and frowned. Perhaps Ithica was right, maybe the rock could feel, maybe it did have feelings...like him. Who was he to harm it just because he was angry? He felt a tiny tinge of regret build up in his stomach.
Ryan watched Ithica ponder his question carefully and heard an answer, although it was done quietly. He smiled brighter than he had ever smiled before, ever than he could have dreamed of. "He DOES love me. Maybe I do stand a chance..." he thought to himself. Happily, he rushed over and threw himself in Ithica's arms, his own arms wrapped tight around his friend. Breathing in deeply he smelled the same scent that he always smelled when thinking of Ithica, or being around Ithica. "Vanilla..." He didn't know if this was cologne or body spray that Ithica was wearing, but whatever the case was; he smelled it every time that he was near his friend. In a subtle way, it was Ryan's way of remembering Ithica and all the happiness that life could offer, even if he didn't have it completely yet. "I love you so much, Ithica..." he breathed into the half-demon's ear, as he held onto him for dear-life, not wanting to ever let go.
After a few seconds, Ryan pulled away and smiled. "Now let's get something to eat. You mentioned Churros, right?"

Ithi grinned as he was hugged. The negative thoughts had pretty much vanished at the thought of food. He knew that when they parted his life was going to fall apart when he told Aaran. He also knew that pondering over that was going to make him feel sick. So he was trying to cover it up with his happiness. "You're going to break me." Ithi squirmed in Ryan's arms. "Or dislocate my back! Or my hip. I'm getting old now, the possibilty of breaking my hip is entir--"
He stopped when Ryan breathed in his ear and shuddered. He shook his head lightly, trying to complete his earlier sentence. "ehly.." Ithi mumbled, unable to remember what he had been saying. Something about getting a perm? He stumbled when the boy let him go and was slightly embarrassed that he had been leaning on Ryan. He raised a hand to his ear and glared accusingly at him. "Don't do that again." Ithica wasn't too sure what 'that' was, but it had nearly turned him into a pool of demon-liquid. And that wasn't good.
Maybe it was some empathic mind trick. Hmph.
"Churros..." Ithi nodded. He bounced ahead, unsure of where he was going and he didn't really care. He just needed to move and get his energy out. "Churros!" He repeated happily. "You know, churros are fantastic! Gotta love the Spaniards. Muchas gracias para el churros! Wow I think I just mutilated their language.." Ithi tapped his chin thoughtfully. "Churros." He shook his head lovingly. He skipped over the cracks - although the road ahead was full of cracks he was determined to make it without stepping on them. Both literally and metaphorically.
"I hate cracks in the road." Ithica said grumpily.

Ryan smirked. "Right....somebody really loves their Churros!" he said with a laugh. It was a nice change for him, laughing and joking. He hadn't done either much in his life, and it always seemed like Ithica brought the best of it out of him. It was something that he admired about Ithica, and spending more time with him cemented the fact that Ithica really and truly made him happy.
"Where do we go? It's not too late...I'm sure some place will be open" he said with a yawn. After all, it seemed as though they had been talking for hours upon hours, hunger wasn't the only thing on his mind; sleep was another thing that he was feeling. Even with the sleepy feeling he still wanted to get something to eat, as he didn't know when the next time he would get food would be; he wanted to eat something...now.
"I do hope the churro thing works out for us...if not that, I'm sure we can find some kind of food place that's both yummy and delicious"

"Where do we go?" Ithi repeated. "Where do we go? Where do we go?" He really didn't have any idea, hence the reason he was repeating the phrase. To buy himself some time to make it look like he had the foggiest idea. He poked his head which was still temporarily malfunctioning from the breath in his ear. "We go..." He pointed in a random direction. "That way!" There was bound to a restaurant that way, right? This was New York! The breeding place of unhealthy food. This was practically the motherland for junk.
But Ryan sounded sleepy, and Ithi wasn't sure if he should put him through all the walking when he truly didn't have any idea where he should go. Why did his eidetic memory always fail him at the crucial moments? Maybe he had selective memory. Or maybe his memory was an inanimate object and he accidentally brought it to life and it was on strike? That'd be his luck. "Uh, actually... I'm not sure where the nearest Jack in the Box is...or a Taco Bell..."
All right, so what Ithi was trying to say was that he had no freaking idea where they were at. "If all else fails we could just go back to my dorm and eat. I have stuff." He shrugged. "And my dorm isn't too far from the Academy. I could...walk you...back..." With each word he was becoming increasingly aware how awkward his suggestion sounded. He rubbed his elbow and started walking in the direction he pointed to earlier.
"Or we could just look around for a restaurant! Yeah. Churros are nice. I'm not very good at making them. But I can!" He wagged a finger. "Don't doubt my baking skills."
