If characters do not wish to have a power, they CAN refuse it. It merely comes to play that the second level of eidetic memory IS Adoptive Muscle Memory. If they don't want it, they don't get it, simple as that. If they don't want their level two power, they don't have to have it. This was done because those gifts couldn't evolve well without gimping the player, or overpowering them. Oh, that's all well and good. Sankyuu. :)

The link on the sidebar for "What Lovely Specimens" leads to the second page of the thread instead of the first. It's really not a big deal, but if you're ever editing something in there anyway, or whatever, you may want to link to the first page instead. This is the link right here:

Would it be too...whatever, haughty, to suggest that we require perhaps a 50x20 dimension for link/button submissions ? It's just to keep that particular area neat and matching.

edit; I may have suggested this already? Not really sure, to be honest. I've been meaning to, though.
Gift idea I have no good name for;
The ability to move silently and softly, barely leave footprints. Personal muting of sorts. Stage II would be not leaving behind even smaller traces, like hair, skin, scent, DNA, etc. Like they were never there.
Could add more to it, like, say, the ability to run on water/snow/coals because of the softness of their step.
I actually have a couple characters who'd be great with this Gift. Totally makes sense for them.

Also, I'd really like to try and work out a way to create a Gift that's basically forcefield creation. I don't care about the specifics, I just think it's important to have a defensive Gift like that.
I know you can achieve the effect with other Gifts if you're creative, like Telekinesis, for example, but I think having one Gift devoted to it would be great. Or even adapting telekinesis for more shield-like uses?
I've just been thinking about Jamie's second Gift, when it comes to that, and I don't think any of the ones we currently have suit him. Even his current Gift has to be used somewhat creatively to really fit the kind of person he is.

we've covered forcefield Gifts several time. There's several Gifts that can create a forcefield as a side effect. Electrokinesis, Telekinesis, heck, just about every Kinesis can manage it. You can even achieve magnetism using Electrokinesis, though I might consider creating that as a Gift. Just having a Forcefield Gift seems rather redundant to me, given that it's a side benefit of other Gifts. It would feel like we were gimping the Gift.
The move silently Gift has a lot of merit though. I like the idea, and we could probably work something up that's within the rules.

There's got to be something out there solely for the martyrs and defense-minded, I just have to exercise my mind to find it xD

I don't know if it's just my computer, the clock at the top of the pages hasn't switched over to daylight-saving time yet.

Cell Memory Reversion? Cellular Reversion?
Basically the opposite of Cellular Acceleration. would 'de-age' things. Turn wine into grape juice and stuff like that. I'm sure it could be fleshed out more, too.
Or maybe we could add it to the Cellular Acceleration thing and call it like... Cellular Manipulation or something? xD

I'm sure it could be fleshed out more, too. Or maybe we could add it to the Cellular Acceleration thing and call it like... Cellular Manipulation or something? xD I'm initially against the idea of this. Why? Because it begs a question, if you revert the time or structure of something, where did the energy required to do that come from? Sure we can just say 'It's Magic' but I like to do that as little as possible. Perhaps break down some matter to transfer the energy from it to create or reverse something else, something like an Energy Vampire? That could be doable, but outright reversing the effects of time stretches the fabric of reality more then I am comfortable with.

That's why I connected it to Cell Memory. It's not so much reversing time as it is changing the cell back to the way it was. it's not like unmelting an icecube, it's like refreezing it, you know? Accomplishes basically the same thing, it's just a technicality.
