Ok, this was not what Locke had planned for his Valentine's day. Not in any of the many different plans flying through his head did he think this is where he would be. The situation leading up to it had seemed normal enough, but the final result seemed so unreal.
He recalled the events leading to this as he sat down entertaining the rapid fire questions from young boy. If he was lucky Cassidy would stick with questions, but how likely was that to happen.
Holly had come to Kiri first, seemed in a fluster. Apparently Desmond had made dinner arrangements at a fine restaurant, and their baby sitter had canceled on them. Angela and Kennedy were gone already, Rae and Eve hadn't been seen for days, not to mention that they were not the best examples, Matt was still mentally fried, and didn't look too good with kids anyway. And Morgan had seemingly vanished, wonder if she decided to visit Jon? Nah,maybe not. Kiri had, of course, agreed to babysit the children, Locke figured she wanted to do something to pay Holly back for letting them stay there. And it was all fine until Holly suggested that they could keep the house to themselves as their own little Valentine's Day.
Oh that had done wonders for Locke's face color.
So now here he sat, watching a pair of hyperactive children. And his secondary job, to make sure Garion and Matt didn't go crazy and hurt themselves. Garion may have been mature, but he was still nine. He wondered aloud if Kiri was having fun with the child she'd taken under her wing, so to speak. If anything, she would be great with children, but Locke. This was...
He sighed.

Garion had bags under his eyes. He had been keeping himself awake as long as possible, afraid of what he might see in his sleep. When he did succumb to exhaustion, it was always blissfully blank and dreamless, his mind to exhausted to horrify itself.
He wasn't even aware of the fact that the group would be left here alone until Holly and the others walked out the front door. By then it was too late to object. The first thing he did was hide every video game in the house, no matter how nonviolent. He didn't know where his head was anymore. Sometimes he was in control, and sometimes...
Garion refused to let this haunt him forever. He looked up to Locke with the same blank expression he had carefully practiced.
"Is there any chance there's a laptop or something here?"

Cassidy found everything supernatural to be absolutely fascinating. So much so that he didn't complain as he would normally at being assigned a baby-sitter. After all, his baby sitter happened to be a cat-boy that shot lightning from his fingertips.
Of course the Cavan boy had tons of questions for his new best friend. These included such gems as "can I do that too?" And "would you shock me, plllllleease?"
Katrina, the youngest daughter, had fortunately taken a shine to Kiri. She loved the faerie girl and often followed her around the house. Her favorite thing to do was reach for the sparkly wings, whenever she saw them. Of course, she also demanded that Kiri tell everyone what the cats were saying (which was usually something along the lines of "f**k off, we don't like six-year-olds)
Fiona, the oldest, found the whole thing to be horrible. She was fourteen, why did she need a babysitter? For that matter, why did she need one as old as her? Who cared if he had freak-powers, he was still just another stupid kid. A nerd even, which was worse.
So Fiona barricaded herself in her room, blasting Raelena St. John music at the loudest possible volume. "I Kissed a Girl" could be heard in nearly every corner of the house, and Fiona had thus far ignored any and all requests to turn it down.

Looking to Garion, and away from the younger child who was now tugging on his new silver-lined jacket. Oh well, at least it was sturdy.
"I'm pretty sure they would have to somewhere." He said to Garion, thanking his blessings that he was more or less intact mentally. It was one less problem to deal with. He looked to Cassidy and formed a plan on it, maybe it would work for a moment to keep the child occupied. "Ok Cassy." He said, speaking slowly and softly like he'd heard Kiri do so often. "Here's the deal. If you can find a computer for Garion without doing anything your not supposed to do, so no breaking into daddy's things, then I'll show you some cool things, ok?"
Ah bribery, tool of babysitters across the globe.
And then the walls shook at a particularly loud note from Rae's song and Locke sighed. In truth, he had no desire to babysit a girl his age. He didn't usually even like girls his age range, too whinny and immature, with overinflated senses of self worth.
Locke arched an eyebrow as he turned and saw one of the cats bound down the stairs and jump under the couch. A cat run from Kiri?
He called up the stairs. "Kiri? You ok up there?"

Kiri was enjoying her time with the young girl Katrina, and didn't even mind the girl's fascination with her fairy appendages. It was a game to shrink down to fae size then zip about the house. Often the cats followed trying to catch her as well. To Kiri it was lively and kept her mind off of worse things. Besides Katrina was a doll.
The other girl Fiona, Kiri had tried to make friends with, but didn't seem to be getting anywhere with. Music blaring she lifted her head at the loud note and frowned. Even if the girl was only a year or two younger than Kiri this was disrespectful to the other people in the house, and highly inconsiderate.
One cat lay curled in Kiri's lap as she sat on the floor of Kat's room. Her gift with animals had kept the one in her lap content at the loud noise but the other feline did nt appreciate it at all. It often cursed, which displeased Kiri, and often let Kiri know its every thought. Bothersome, and sometimes made her gasp at how crude the cat was.
The two cats had been arguing about something when the rude cat had something particulary nasty about Locke. Kiri carefully set the nice kitty to the side then lunged at the mean cat. She hissed out in feline language some rather nasty things as she chased the cat who not expecting this from the gentle fae shot off like a bolt.
"Kat-Kat, I'll be right back, sweets." Kiri smiled sweetly at the girl before dashing after the cat. She'd just heard Locke call out when she came crashing after the cats. The nice cat had gotten startled by Kiri sudden movements and also wanted to see the fellow feline get in trouble.
Landing she hissed a few feline curses at the crude cat that only felines would understand then lunged for the cat again.

"A computer?" repeated Cassidy. He frowned, wondering why they'd ask him such a silly question. The family wasn't exactly one to be bothering with stuff like that, but Holly had one she used mostly for work. Occasionally, one of the kids got to use it for homework though, so Cassidy did know where it was.
"It's in Mom's office," he offered. Cassidy turned to Garion, grinning. One definite advantage of all the guests was that Cassidy now had kids his own age to play with. Though they all seemed more mature then him, which only made Cassidy try all the harder to act grown-up.
"C'mon, Gary," said Cassidy, waving, "let's go."
The boy tugged at Garion's arm till the other child moved, and then Cassidy would lead Garion to the office. which was a surprisingly well organized room with a roll-top desk, computer chair, fairly decent computer, and several important looking books.
-------------------------------------------------------
Katrina had moved over to play with the cat Kiri had abandoned, reaching for its tail. The sly animal managed to pull it out of the six-year old's grasp, and this came continued while the catfight occurred. Clearly neither cat nor girl found it worth their attention.

Gary? That was a new one. "Gary" followed the kid to where the computer was sanctioned. The model was fairly modern, and Garion immediately took a seat and booted up the computer and found an internet browser. "Thanks..um... Cassy." Garion then fixed his attention on the monitor. There was a certain site he wished to go on... "I can take it from here." Garion immediatly found what he was looking for. www.MoSh.com, or My Original Student Portal, the Academy's student website. The site required a password, and was only accessible using a students name, date of birth, password, and the answer to three randomly selected personal questions, out of a data bank of 50. Garion started to type in his information, then stopped. He was supposed to be missing. His finger hovered over the log in bar, wondering whether the Academy would trace back the IP address, or not. Not wanting to risk it, Garion quickly closed the site without logging on. He instead started to research about developmental dementia.

Locke let Garion and Cassey run off to the side as he saw Kiri come bounding down the stairs and pounce at the cat. He was surprised, to say the least, at her reaction. He couldn't understand cat, but he sure knew she was mad. Was she going to skin that cat? What had gotten into her?!
"Kiri!" He shouted running over to her, making to grab for her arm, but missing her as she made another dive at the cat. "Kiri, what on earth?!" He questioned. What could the cat have possibly done to turn Kiri into this?
"Hey now, come on!" He called making another grab for Kiri's arm to try and save the cat's life. Kiri was acting more like a tiger now.
Was this what they meant by a 'catfight'?

Kiri finally caught the cat and scooped him up by his scruff. "Ever say that stuff about my boy friend ever again and you will feel the talons of an eagle in your spine." The cat mewed helplessly before Kiri dropped him and as soon as his paws hit the floor he was off again to hide. That would teach him for talking bad about Locke.
Turning she smiled at Locke warmly. "Don't worry, Locke. It's all taken care of." She giggled and stepped over to him eyes bright and cheerful, nothing like she was seconds ago with the feline.
"So what are you and Cassidy up to?" Kiri glanced up to the stairs hoping that Kat and the other kitty were doing alright. "Katrina how are you doing up there?"
She called her eyes clouding with concern as she waited for the young child to respond. Even at such a young age one could see the mothering instinct come out in the girl.

Locke blinked for a moment, a little confused by her rapid change in personality, then he let a smile split his face as she wheel back around to him.
"Oh, he's just showing Garion to a computer, he wanted to check on something I think." Locke said dismissively. "Apparently my 'magic powers' are the 'coolest thing ever.'" Locke said, emulating the child.
"And what about you with your best friend up there?" He asked with a grin after she turned around to call up to her. "Keeping her out of trouble I hope?" Locke still felt a little self conscious in his new duds, and adjusted the over jacket awkwardly. What should he talk about with her? They'd been kind of awkward after the whole incident, and now here on Valentine's day, he couldn't think of anything to say to her. His hand slipped into his pocket, a small item being worked through his fingers. It was a bad habit he'd gotten into since he returned with it, but only when she was around.
"W-We should probably come up with some kind of activity to keep them out of trouble I'd think..." And the loud music pounded at his skull. "And I think I might have to turn off that racket." He added on.

Originally Cassidy had wanted to hang around Gary for a bit. Try and figure out what exactly a super-smart genius kid did on a computer. Cassidy was half-convinced that everyone who lived with him now was some kind of superhero, and had already been working on code-names for all of them.
Uncle Kennedy was so the Avenger, and his pretty fiasco... fleece... girlfriend was The Angel. Then they could be the Avenger and Angel together! It totally worked.
Cassidy smiled to himself as he headed back down the stairs, angling toward Locke and Kiri. He knew those two dated each other, and sometimes seemed more like grown-ups then Uncle Kennedy and Aunt Angie. But Cassidy knew they both weren't that old. Like, Fiona's age.
"I got him a computer! You can show me cool things now."
Locke was "Shocker-Cat." Kiri could be "Miss Faerie."
-------------------------------------------------
A cat ran down the stairs at a fast pace, looking up at Kiri.
That stupid little girl pulled my tail! I hate her! It immediately began licking the offended area.
Katrina hurried down the stairs, giggling. She grinned up at Kiri. "Me and Mr. Waffles were playing."
I also really hate that name.
And, of course, all through this the loud Raelena St. John music boomed.

She smiled and turned back to Locke after calling up to Katrina. "I don't know what would entertain them all, and keep them out of trouble. I'm not that great with kids." Yet. Kiri smiled secretly hoping that someday she'd have children of her own. Children that might has a certain someone's blue hair.
When the cat came zipping down she smiled kneeling to greet it. After it's complaining she giggled and held out a hand to stroke it's beautiful fur. Kiri glanced up at Kat when she appeared and smiled at the adorable name.
"Honey, you need to learn not to pull Mr. Waffles tail. It isn't very nice. How would you feel if I tugged really hard on your hair?" She purred at the cat trying to calm it. Poor thing, and it was the friendly one too without the terribly foul moth, or at least less foul.
"Okay, who wants to get some snacks and watch a movie?" The young fae jumped to her feet clapping enthusiastically. "Locke and I will get the snacks, while you guys can pick out a movie you both like. Okay?"
This would give her some time with Locke and give the two siblings a chance to do something. Though she had a feeling it would just end in a fight which her and Locke would have to end. "Katrina you pick two movies you really, really wanna watch. Cassidy, you do the same. Then bring the movies to us and we can all chose which one we watch first."
That sounded like it might work better. She hoped.

Locke nodded with Kiri. It did sound like a good plan. He wondered about the odd distracted smile on her face, but pushed it from his mind. But then something crossed his mind that made him smile.
"Oh Cassidy, I have an idea. I can show you my trick after the movies ok? But you have to behave, got it?" Locke smirked at the kid. He normally didn't like kids, but the kid was cute, and relatively well behaved. Locke realized something as he turned to walk towards the kitchen with Kiri.
"You know...I think this is the first time either of us dealt with a normal family..." He said thinking. "Normal siblings in a house with both parents, no big problems, just a chunk of life. It's...nice to experience it." He said looking at the girl at his side.
He hoped she'd stay there. "So how long do you think we have before some world ending fight breaks out?" Locke asked Kiri with a smile.
He smiled at her as he walked towards the kitchen to find the snacks for the kids. Knowing Holly, they'd be easily apparent. She seemed a little bothered by putting such a job on the pair at such short notice.

On the way to the kitchen Kiri walked rather close beside Locke wanting nothing more than to hold his hand. Everything had been so chaotic for the past few days that she felt their relationship was fading. Ever since that day she'd gone to find him there was something different about them. Of course there seemed to be something different about most of the people who'd come back from that rescue mission.
"I had a somewhat normal family with my mother, but this is the complete version. The version most people only see on TV or read about in books." Kiri reached out her fingers wanting to touch him to know he was real. That she wasn't just hearing his voice. A problem she'd been having ever since that forbidden ceremony of the wind. Voices weren't the same, were they real? Were they memories?
"Hopefully they'll pick their movies then come get us before any real arguing breaks lose." She smiled as she entered the kicten having learned quickly the ins and outs from helping Holly cook. Getting some glasses, and little plastic plates with cartoon characters on them she turned to Locke with a serious gaze.
"I got you something for Valentine's day." Eyes downcast she sniffled before turning to set the dishes onto the counter. "But it's back at the school. I-I have nothing."
Her motions were on autopilot as she grabbed some fruit to cut into slices. Then she reached for some peanut butter, and turned to go to the fridge for some caramel. Biting her lip she pulled out a drawer right by the fridge and took out a notebook. She set it on the counter then went to the fridge in silence.
On the notebook was one word written in artful caligraphy. Locke. Inside she had filled the pages with every spare second she had from the last few days with drawings. Drawings of him asleep, him with the children. Her with the children, and the cats. The grey wolf asleep under a pine tree. Rae and Eve asleep in each other's arms, that had been fun to draw. Sunsets, sunrises, moons, and kisses filled the pages from everyone stuck in this piece of heaven.

Locke grinned at Kiri's remark about a family. His was pretty normal too, but he was the oddball there. Worst of all he was smart enough to realize it. "Yeah, hopefully they won't fight. I've got my fingers crossed."
[blue]"I got you something for Valentine's day."[/blue]
This was it! The perfect time! Locke clutched the object in his hand, ready to pull it out and then...
[blue]"But it's back at the school. I-I have nothing."[/blue]
And Locke let the present fall back into his pocket as he pulled his empty hand out. This was not the right time. Locke stood there speechless for a second, wracking his brain on what to do. Something to do...something to do....
"Wait!" Locke called, giving only a passing glance to the notebook on the counter. "You do have a gift for me, something only you can give and something very precious." Locke said. "A gift is just...an expression of your feelings right?" Locke said, trying to stumble his way through this. "Well if you want to express your feelings, you...um...you have other ways to show them..." He said, scratching his cheek with his finger. Or rather, scratching his red cheek with his finger.
"So...um...are your sure you can't think of anything?" He asked hopefully. It'd felt like years since the last time, he hoped he wasn't turning into a addict.
Oh well, not like he minded.
