After getting her little angel to bed she kissed the girl's forehead, turned on the nightlight, and headed out. When she reached the living room however the small mess was basically gone. Kiri picked up the blanket and set the coffee table right, then folded the blanket up and laid it on the couch.
Moving through the house quietly she found Locke in the kitchen and smiled at his yawn. "Tired? You can always go to bed, I can load the rest of the dishes." She walked over to the washer, grabbed one of the small plates and set it in.
"I don't mind." Kiri gave him a smile reaching for another plate. Lucky for them it wasn't like there was a lot of dishes. Now that she was awake from the movie nap she couldn't even think of sleeping. She'd been shocked to fall asleep in the first place. Her mind was wide awake and would most likely spend the night sketching pictures. Those voices would return whispering in her mind reminding her of that dark place, and how she had failed Star. It seemed so long ago.
The young fae lowered her gaze using her long hair to hide her dark expression. He didn't need to see it. He needed a happy girl friend to keep his world light, because he'd been given such darkness. After a moment she was able to raise her head again with a bright smile.
"Those lil' demons sure do look like angels when they're asleep. So confusing." She giggled softly shaking her head at the picture of those two angels sleeping.

Locke's mind was already elsewhere when Kiri spoke, his hand had found it's way back into his pocket, rolling the small object in his palm. His heart continued to beat faster and faster as it slipped through his fingers. He caught half of her sentence about helping him, and didn't even look up.
"Oh, it's all right, I'm used to all-nighters. This isn't anything..."
She mentioned the kids, and Locke couldn't help but smile. "They love you like a second mother, you really have a way with them."
She had a way with more then children, and Locke decided it was time for it now. He needed it now, and she probably did too.
"Um...hey Kiri...um...could I ask a favor?"
Thump-thump, thump-thump.
"Um...could you....close your eyes for a second?" He said, turning towards her, his face starting to go red as he fidget with the item in his pocket even more so.

"Yes, but you shouldn't push yourself." Kiri paused in her loading of the dishes her sky blue eyes filling with worry. "If you push you might get sick."
He didn't seem to be acting like himself, but no one seemed to be doing that around this house. Not that she new the normal personalities of the Cavans, but the students didn't seem back to their old selves. Maybe they never would be, but Locke...her Locke...she didn't want to lose him.
Kiri blushed at his comment about the children. "I'm sure they don't feel that strongly about me. I'm just like a favorite baby sitter or best cousin." The young fae smiled at him setting down the glass in the washer.
She glanced at him as she finished up the loading of the dishes. Why was he talking so oddly, something seemed to be on his mind that was for sure. Maybe he was just tired and she was reading into things too much yet again. Straightening she gave him a soft caring gaze.
"Of course you can. I'll try to do anything to make you happy, you know that." Kiri blinked confused then nodded her eyes drifting closed. Her thoughts went to the question of kisssing earlier and her cheeks instantly started to burn. Was he going to kiss her? Wrap her in his arms and whisper about love? It was Valentine's Day after all. The girl couldn't help but smile. "What is this about, Locke? You're driving me crazy with the waiting."
Giggling she twisted her dress skirt in her hands her mind racing with what may or may not happen.

Thump-thump. Driving her crazy? Well she wasn't the only one. He tried to respond. "It's just...a small thing really." He mumbled, his hand finally coming free from his pocket. In his hand was a lump wrapped in tissue paper, and as he went to open it, a long thin gold chain slipped and now dangled from the small object. The metal rang as it unraveled and hung there, while Locke pulled the item from it's home. What was on the other end of the chain was a one of a kind locket, and one he'd had his eyes on since he saw it that first time months ago. And now the day came, when he would finally be able to give it to her. The object in question gleamed in the light, as the twin yellow sapphires in it reflected the dim lighting. Most of it was costume jewelry, but the big two gems, they were real. Yellow seemed like her favorite color, she was a sunshine kind of person after all. His fumbling hand unclasped the chain, and he slowly placed them around her neck. She might think he was going to pull her close until she felt the cool metal touch her neck. Careful to avoid snagging her long hair, he leaned in closely and tried to clasp the necklace. Miss. A small amount of frustration built as his shaking hands couldn't seem to clasp the necklace. He tried again though. Miss. Now he was worried, how much of a fool was he going to look if he screwed this up? It was simple, just clasp together a locket. She was waiting, don't screw up now! ClickLocke breathed a silent sigh that it had finally taken. In truth it took less then 20 seconds for the whole deal, but it felt like an eternity. And as the locket fell down, resting against her chest, he pulled himself back, dangling by her ear for a moment to say, quite clearly to her. "Happy Valentine's Day...Kiri."

Garion had long since logged off the computer, content to just stare at a blank screen, occupied with his thoughts. He currently was peeking over the side of a wall, out of sight, and focusing on not getting caught. He watched the exchange with avid interest, watched as the two worked together to put the kids to sleep, and watched them talk.
He knew he shouldn't be watching this sort of thing... but he couldn't help it. High school romances always made him angry and he pitied those who got mixed up in them. They were bound to not work out.
This relationship, however, seemed right. It was a happy, wonderful union.
Garion slinked away from the hall, quiet as anything. Tears of hot jealousy clung in his eyes, jealousy and sorrow for something that he would never be able to attain.
