Her fist made impact with the hanging bag with enough force to send it swinging away from her. As it started to swing back toward her she kicked it knocking it the other direction now. Whe nshe got in a mood like this it was best not to spar with anyone, especially breakable humans. Her fists flew as she jabbed at the bag. Then with a good solid spin kick the bag detached itself from it's hook.
Her chest heaved as she stared at the bag laying helpless and dead on the training room floor. Eve pushed back her wild hair with a wrapped hand. Looking up she found that the hook was broken and she couldn't just put the bag back in place. She growled and turned to look for something else to work on. SO far that day she'd worked on nearly every muscle in her body that she could. Her body was covered in sweat, and yet she wasn't done yet. She wouldn't be done until she couldn't move.
Eve rotated her shoulders walking over to the weight lifting section. She slipped on some weights to a free bar laid down on the bench and started lifting. It was stupid to do this without a spot partner but she wasn't worried. Her biceps, triceps, and pectorals flexed as she pushed the heavily weighted bar up from her chest. She'd be damned if she got any more "soft."

When Jamie was quite sure the frightening girl was done with her punching and kicking, and had went to lie down and lift things for awhile, he made his way over to the abandoned punching bag and found the broken piece of hook on the floor. After a quick glance toward Eve, he gave the piece a good stare-down to determine whether or not it was a clean break.
He then stood on the punching bag and reached up to the other piece of the hook. He was surprised to find out he could actually reach the suspended piece quite easily; he'd been growing a lot more than he thought lately.
Fitting the broken piece back into its original spot, he pushed them together with all the might he could muster while stretched out as far as he was, and let his Gift do the rest of the work. The cells in the respective pieces began to move at an accelerated pace and the break in the metal slowly fused together again.
His handyman work accomplished, he settled in to watch the girl lift her weights, all the while trying to look like he wasn't watching her lift weights. He thought what she was doing looked a little dangerous, and would have offered to at least try to help if he wasn't worried about making her angry. People like her never seemed to want help. Like Kirien.
He couldn't suppress an involuntary shudder at the thought.

Up the bar went away from her face, down came the bar zooming in on every dent and scratch. Up went the bar her muscles bunching and crying out for her to give them a break. Sighing at her weakness she pushed the bar one more time pwards her hands shaking very slightly. The clank of the bar setting into place and her arms sagged her hands still gripping the metal rod.
After some deep breathing she sat up pulling a towel over to her and wiping her face and neck. Head tilting back she stood to go to her gym bag and get her water bottle. On the way over she noticed a small boy, and then she noticed the hook. She paused confused gawking at the now fixed hook.
"How the hell did that happen?" Had some gym fairy come in and fixed it while she hadn't been looking. Still eyeing the hook she went over and snatched up her water bottle squirting the room temperature water into her parched mouth.

The bag isn't on the hook, no way Jamie could lift that thing xD He just fixed the hook Jamie, who had been watching Eve like a hawk (if a hawk who kept looking away whenever it thought it's prey knew it was there), noticed the shaking, slight though it was, and a noise akin to a peep escaped him. He had to try very hard to resist scampering over to help her with the weights. When she got the bar to its spot, his sigh of relief was audible.
He finally took the time, then, to return to what he had previously been doing; cleaning and organizing the room. It was sweaty, gross work, but people came there to train, not to clean, so someone had to tidy things up. And he really didn't want the poor staff to have to deal with the mess; the Academy was such a big place and they had plenty of other work to do.
His head turned back to Eve, though, when she asked about the punching bag, taking the question as anything but rhetorical. "I fixed it!" he said, the usual brightness of his voice dampened a little due to how intimidated he felt. "While you were..." he made bench pressing motions and a silly exertion-face before pointing at the spot Eve had recently vacated.
He debated introducing himself, as his manners would normally dictate, but he really didn't want to push it. This whole area of the school put him on edge; he was so out of place here. He hadn't trained since before his parents had died and he'd lost his memory, and even now that he'd regained it, he tried to stay away from his old, physical lifestyle.

(oh snap...thanks...fixed...>.<)
Not having heard any of the noises from the young boy, she had went about her business as if a boy wasn't staring at her intently. After draining half of the water bottle from drinking and squirting her overheated body she jerked her eyes to the voice. There stood a young boy who looked very excited by the fact that he'd fixed something.
"You?" Eve did not hide her surprise as she pointed at him her stormy grey eyes darting to the hook. How had that tiny thing fixed the hook? She'd snapped it good, and even with her strength wouldn't have been able to bend it back. Eye brows rising she nodded impressed with the kid instantly.
"Yeah? What's your name kid? I should get to know the name of the one who could pull that feat off without me seeing." She slapped the top of her bottle effectively shutting it before she dropped it back into her gym bag. Eve rubbed the towel around her neck a she made her way over to the interesting boy.
"I'm Eve by the way, Eve Stone." Once to him she gave him a half grin her hand held out for his. She really was learning how to interact with these softlings. Just be gentle with them and maybe they wouldn't be so utterly terrified like the boy with the cat ears had been.

No prob. It's just a little thing anyway. He nodded when the girl questioned him. "Yep, me." He kind of liked the look of surprise, it made him feel special, like he'd done something amazing just by fixing things up. He would have done it either way, of course, even if no one had noticed, but it was still nice to get a little appreciation for his efforts.
"People never notice me," Jamie explained with a sort of giggle. He didn't seem to mind at all, working behind the scenes like he did. He was just glad the Academy people hadn't kicked him out now that he wasn't officially a student; he didn't have anywhere to stay here in America and he didn't want to bother his godfather. "I'm Jamie."
He considered pointing out that he wasn't really a 'kid', since he was seventeen years old, but decided it wasn't that important. He didn't mind being called 'kid', and he knew he looked a whole lot younger than he was anyway.
"It's very nice to meet you, Eve," he said with a proper smile. He shook her hand, his grip surprisingly firm for one of his stature. Far be it from him to let his initial impression of someone interfere with finding out who they actually were, he was just happy to find out she was friendly.
"You're very strong," he commented, impressed. "Are you not a human?"
Once again, his childish curiosity won out over the etiquette that had been drilled into him his whole (past) life that would have dictated not asking such brazen questions of someone he had only just met.

Frowning at his 'never notice me' comment she hooked the towel behind her neck staring at him. He might not be the type that screamed look at me but he didn't appear to he the invisible type either. Her eyes narrowed as she thought on this which to someone who didn't know her thinking look might take it as irratation, or anger.
"Well, then. You just need to speak up more for yourself." She let out another half smile as he spoke his name. Such a gentle sounding name for such a gentle looking young kid. His parents had named him well, and she her gaze softened slightly. Names were important and should always mean something. Wonder what his name means to him.
"Nice to meet you too, Jamie." Her eyes widened at his grip and she smiled full out this time. A boy who would give a bit in the hand shake. He might not be muscle bound manly man but he certainly wasn't the worm in the bunch. "Good grip, kid."
The next sentence, question, words out of the boy's mouth had her in complete shock. Sputtering she blinked rapidly until she burst out laughing. "Ah, kid. You're a riot. You're strong, therefore I'm not human."
Continuing to laugh she held her stomach and shaking her head. "Oh, boy. Just for that I'll tell you the truth." She straightened and winked at the kid.
"I'm the big bad monster that gobbles up princesses in story books." Eve tucked her sweat drenched hair out of her face hoping the kid got the little hint. If not she'd just have to outrigt tell him, but this way was so much more fun.

Every once in awhile, it occurred to Jamie that he should probably be introducing himself as Eoin King, seeing as he was born with the name and should probably honour his parents' memory by carrying on the family name, but he just couldn't help it. He was so used to being Jamie now that it was automatic to call himself that, and, as Eve herself had noted, it was a very fitting name for the boy. Eoin King sounded too powerful and influential, and had suited him in the past, but now, Jamie just sounded right.
"I don't mind," he said with a smile. "It's easier to get things done this way, and if nobody notices me they can't kick me out.." He lowered his voice to a cute, conspiratorial whisper for the last few words. He muttered a small 'thank you' when she complimented his grip, a little embarrassed to show any display of force. He honestly didn't like being strong, but he had been conditioned too hard when he was young for his body to just lapse on him. Granted, he was nowhere near as well-trained now, but he wasn't out of shape either.
The embarrassment continued when she ridiculed his logic. Well, that's what he saw it as anyway. His head tucked slightly into his neck as if he'd be able to pull it right in and hide like a turtle, and his eyes went to the floor. But she didn't seem to be upset with him, at least, since she was laughing an awful lot, and he was apparently right. He had to look back up at her, though, when she posed her riddle. She received a strange sort of look.
"You don't look like an ogre," he said, by all appearances completely serious.

A bit confused she placed a hand onto her hip staring at him with an intense gaze which came out as a glare. Kick him out? Why in the world would they do that he's just a kid, or he looked like a kid. Certain races did tend to age oddly. He didn't look pale enough to be a vampire and she didn't notice any pointed ears, but he could be hinding those with something. What did those fairies do again? Illusions?
"I'm sure no one would kick such a helpful soft spirited kid like you out." She smiled at him reassuringly, or as reassuringly as a war dragon could. Eve was still having problems with looking the nice normal person part. The talking stuff she was getting better at though.
After her little laughing episode she felt more relaxed around the boy. Jamie however didn't look all that pleased to be laughed at. Her smile faded feeling like an idiot and a downright meany for laughing now. She was just about to apologize when his next words hit her ears. Eve had to do everything in her power not to burst out laughing all over again.
"No, not an ogre. Try something even bigger, more fierce, with nasty claws, and horrible fangs." She held up her arms her hands mimicing claws and she showed her teeth in representation of the fangs. Pretty much looking like an idiot trying to scare a four year ol child.

Jamie wasn't sure what all the looks he kept getting meant, but he decided he could more or less ignore them and save his poor head from exploding, because it seemed that regardless of any glares or looks along those lines he received, Eve was still generally in a good mood. Which he was glad for, not only because he didn't think he could handle a mean person at the moment, but also because he just genuinely enjoyed it when other people were in a good mood.
"But I dropped out," he whispered, leaning closer to Eve. He also glanced around the room, as if it was so secret his life depending on no one overhearing him. "I'm not a student anymore!" he added urgently, as if to emphasize just how bad a thing he was doing by being there. He somehow felt like it was safe to tell this complete stranger that he was, in his mind, an outlaw of sorts.
But he was distracted from this plight by the revelation that she was indeed not an ogre. Her new description didn't leave him any less confused than the last one. "But you don't have nasty claws or horrible fangs. You look even less like a dragon, except that dragons aren't ugly and you aren't ugly, because ogres stand on two feet and you stand on two feet and ogres don't have wings or tails and you don't have wings or a tail and ogres have hands instead of paws with claws and you have hands instead of paws with claws..."
He kept babbling on. Apparently the boy had never learned that dragons can take the form of a human. He personally thought the girl looked more like the princess than the one eating the princess, but people like her never seemed to like being associated with princesses so he kept his mouth shut. Now he thought maybe they didn't like being compared to princesses because they ate them. It would be like comparing him to a steak dinner!

"If you dropped out then drop back in. Simple as that, and if you don't want to then whatever. If anyone asks while I'm around I'll make my cary face and they'll leave you alone." She winked at him and grinned trying to be supportive. Who was she to tell someone to get out or to reprimand them for dropping out? He probably had his reasons just as much as anyone else. Besides who could kick out such an adorable face?
As he rambled on how she couldn't be what she was and was deducting how much more likely she was a ogre she laughed. She had tried not to but she really couldn't help it. This kid was just so terribly sheltered and naive. Eve couldn't honestly remember the last time she'd met someone like him if she had ever met someone like him. But boy when that kid got on a roll he just went!
"Whoa there! Hey, do you want me to prove that I'm a big beastie that breathes fire?" She waved her hands at the whoa part and then leaned in a bit to give him a hard stare. "Cuz if so I will. I have no problem with what I am."
Eve always loved scaring people and with a grin her eyes seeped into a crimson color with reptilian slits for pupils. There she stood staring at him with those eyes that had made children cry. Sure it wasn't a very diffinite way to decide that she was a dragon but it was the safest and least showy way to do so.
"There. I'm a dragon. Happy?" She leaned back her eyes bleeding back to their normal stormy gray shade. Her smile had disappeared with the prescence of her dragon ability but she didn't feel the usual rage, which was a good thing. At least she'd gained control over some parts of her body.

"I am doing whatever!" Jamie declared happily, proud to already be doing what the girl suggested he do. It made him feel smart to have already thought of it, and on top of that, he was simply happy she hadn't raised the alarm or something like that, or even insisted he re-enroll in classes. He would much rather be doing something useful than sit around in class. Now that he remembered his past and everything that came with it, he remembered everything he was tutored in as a child, and that made a lot of the classes pointless for him.
Eve was laughing again, but Jamie didn't seem to mind it this time. She looked happy enough, and Jamie really wasn't one to take laughing as a negative thing; it was one of his favourite things in life by far, up there with smiling and beautiful weather and friends and new clothes. So, this time, he laughed along with her, though he had no idea why she was laughing. He got very quiet, though, and wide-eyed, when she asked if she should prove she was a dragon. She had his full, rapt attention.
As Eve's eyes changed, Jamie's eyes widened even further, to ridiculous proportions, and his mouth contorted to an almost perfect 'o' shape. It looked like he was maybe about to pass out with fright, or something along those lines, but as her eyes shifted back to normal and a smile broke across his face, it was clear that he wasn't really afraid. In fact...
"That was so cool!" he said in reply to her question. Not a very good answer, maybe, but at least it was clear that yes, he was happy. His own face took on a look that might have been scary on anyone else, but looked simply ridiculous and cute on him. He moved his eyes around with apparent extreme concentration, as if he was trying to do the same thing with his own eyes that Eve had done with hers, but he seemed to know he was getting nowhere fast and he gave up quickly.
"I wish I could do that," he said, awe in his voice.

She shook her head in disbelief at the boy. He certainly was a unique lil' bugger. It was good to see someone with such spirit, such spunk for life. One of the things she missed from home, so many people here seemed to just be going through the motions. This guy wanted to help and seemed so light hearted to her. Though she'd only met him for a few minutes what she saw now could very well be a lie.
"I guess you can't do anything more than that now can ya?" Eve grinned while rubbing at her shoulders. The work out was finally letting itself known after resting for so long. It wasn't painful or anything her muscles were just letting her know that they were done for the day. Maybe it was best that she'd stopped to talk to the boy, if she'd continued she might've hurt herself.
As she displayed her eyes to him Eve thought she saw fear. It was natural for him to fear her, especially with blood red eyes staring him in the face. But when she went back to normal the kid gave her yet another surprise. He thought it was cool, wished he could do it too. Eve once again found herself chuckling softly at the adorable boy before her.
"Sorry, you'll have to be a dragon to get lookers like mine. Course you could be a shape shifter too, or a demon. They might have eyes like mine if they wanted I guess." Shrugging she rotated her shoulders then started her stretching to cool down from her work out. "I'm sure you have plenty of tricks I can't do up that sleeve of yours."

When Jamie noticed Eve rubbing her shoulders, concern ran lines across his baby-smooth skin. Pain was one of the things in life he enjoyed the least, even if it was mild discomfort. Luckily, he had been given a Gift to help him combat it. "Are you okay?" he asked. "I can help, if you hurt. Even just a little. It's no problem!" He did his best to emphasize just how willing he was to ease her (mild) suffering, the word 'over-bearing' not coming within miles of occurring to him.
He would be distracted, however, by her chuckling, and a small, well-mannered smile replaced the concern scrawled across his face. "I'm not a dragon, or a demon, or anything cool like that," Jamie clarified. "I'm not a shapeshifter either. I just dye my hair a lot and buy lots of clothes." At this, he giggled, it apparently being some sort of joke of his. When he finally settled, he went on. "I do have tricks. Like making your shoulders feel better!"
He didn't understand exactly what was going on with his Gift, at a cellular level anyway, but he did know it made people heal faster, and that if he concentrated enough, he could make things fuse together. That was pretty neat. He also knew, though, that he could kill things with his Gift, if he aged them enough. That was just scary. He couldn't understand how he'd been able to use the power to kill vampires as only a young child, starving them or speeding up their decay in the sun.
It made him shudder just thinking about it, a gesture that would probably seem a little out of place in such light conversation, but he didn't seem to notice. He was back to normal quick enough anyway; it being only a brief flash of darkness.
