Karmine had heard of this abandoned school house, and had found it a great idea for a new base of operations. They had enough people, with enough gifts, that they could fix this place up into a workable base of operations quickly enough. Add that with people like Locke and Morgan with their perfect memories, planning out the place would be a snap.
The young boy had, for lack of anything better to do since he couldn't go around town as he was, been designing blueprints for the place, and Karmine had to wonder as he glanced at them just what the boy was planning. Locke has assured him though that they had the ability to do everything. The strength to move beams and supports, the correct gifts to do the welding, cutting and other repair work that needed to be done, and the man power for whatever little tasks they needed.
As it had been designed, the part visible to the public was simple enough, a domestic area. Places to sleep, to live, to relax. But the public wouldn't be able to see what Locke had done with the schools old basement. It was pretty much stripped down now, but he had plans to use it as a sort of 'Gifted Room', and that would be a great place for it.
Karmine had his doubts about this for a bit, but it seemed to be working along nicely. Rae had agreed to preform a concert for the small town in exchange for the land the worn down school was on. Karmine had to smile at that, leave it to Rae to take a little thing like her voice and her curves and use it to bend people around her fingers, and it was their idea to start with, the idea of it made him laugh.
Legally, they owned this land, and the building, so whatever they wished to do with it was theirs to do. And there certainly was plenty to do.
Karmine looked around the shaggy building. He still wouldn't let any of the kids live here, it wasn't good enough for people to live there yet, so they'd still been trapped at Holly's. Most of the 'workers' weren't in for the day yet, but Karmine and a few others spent their time here getting it working.
After all, when you are immortal, what is a few weeks of hard labor?
Smirking to himself he ran the saw he was using across a plank of wood, finally cutting it in half. One might think it odd he'd use a saw while his sword hung at his belt, but to use it to chop wood would be a grave insult. He picked up the board and moved it over to the damaged plank on the wall he intended to replace, and worked on ripping it out.
And people used to think Karmine never knew anything like this, he'd built his own house before, such skills were handy!
He wondered who he might see today. The kids seemed likely. Locke didn't have anything else to do, Kiri usually followed him like a lost puppy, and Garion seemed willing to help, though he outright refused to do anything except carry small things to and fro. His Telekenesis would have been useful, but he seemed against using it and Karmine wasn't about to force him. The other two boys he wasn't sure of, the one who was captured, Matt, he wasn't imagining to come, and the last one was a mystery in and of himself. Nobody knew him, nobody had seen him before, but hey, it was a big school.
Maybe Rae or Eve would pop their heads in? Hell, maybe even Kirien and her new boy toy, he'd told them where it was. One never knew who would show up here, it was going to be an interesting day that was for sure.
OOC: I figure just a small topic for people to mingle, anyone who would possibly know the location of the place and isn't hostile to the Outsiders can post here. And Casey too. ANYONE can join in this topic.

"Micheal" still wasn't exactly sure how he wanted to handle this whole situation. The outcasts had rallied together well enough, and now they even had a "home base" of sorts. These were emotionally scarred children led by a reckless fairy and an unsure super-man. All this togetherness made sense, Casey supposed, if they were actually decent, likable people. They simply weren't the horrible people the Academy painted them as.
Still, Casey had to work for his employer, for the present anyway. So he continued tagging along, continued sending vague reports back via his communicator, and continued to ingrate himself with the outcasts.
"We're going to live in a school?" he asked. The irony made him smile as he tentatively followed Karmine. He really should be one of the first to go. Nothing here could actually hurt Casey all that much, while it might be quite dangerous for some of the other people around here. Casey hated to think what would happen if someone got hurt.. like that little Kiri, or nice Angela. Of course, it was unlikely that the pregnant model would show here, but still....
"Is this really the best we can do?" he wondered aloud.

Of course Kennedy Cavan had tagged along with Karmine to their latest hideout. It had been his brother's suggestion that they move in here, after all. So it only made sense that at least one Cavan tag along, and Morgan worked at Mack's anyway. Besides, it gave Kennedy something to do.
He'd been a little surprised when Micheal had volunteered. The kid wasn't exactly the most social animal, and he didn't seem to know many of the others. Still, Kennedy appreciated any help they could get, and they were all together in this anyway.
"Shouldn't be that hard to fix up, what with our superpowers and all," offered Kennedy. He followed close behind Karmine. Just being near Michael caused Kennedy's Gifts to shift rapidly, and the young man was surprised at how much was inside that youth. Super strength, shapeshifting, and healing, at the least. Michael's Gifts made him a helluva fighter and possibly the strongest they had. certainly the hardest to kill, maybe even worse then Rae or Eve.
"I mean, we've got just about every Gift you'd need for something like this," Kennedy pointed out. He walked out into a dusty, cobwebbed foyer, looking around. He half expected a rat to scurry out of hiding or something. Fortunately, no creatures made their presence known . At least, for now.
"So, start by poking around then?" he asked, looking to Karmine for confirmation.

"Best we can do?" Karmine echoed to the boy. "Eh, probably not. But when you think about it, we legally own it in a non-gifted community. As long as we keep ourselves under wraps, the Academy can't easily come in here, it'd cause too much crap. So even if they find out where we are, shouldn't have been hard with Rae's reputation, they can't really act other then trying ta spy on us."
He looked to Kennedy then. "I was gonna leave exploring to tha intellectual types, but if ya want to yer more then welcome." He said as he grabbed a hammer from the air, his own gift was useful here too. A current of air kept the board he was working on in place as he started driving in a group of hovering nails with the hammer.
"I'm content to just be the packmule." Karmine said, gesturing to a supply of lumber he'd brought to the location. Not a large amount, but enough for the basic fix-up work.
"But if ya want ta explore, by all means. Locke and his little brain trust were in here a day or two ago poking 'round. I think Kiri had some of the rodents and such tell her 'bout it too..." He continue, striking another nail forcefully.

"Anything I can do?" asked Casey/Michael, stepping forward. He watched as Karmine began nailing boards. That looked like an incredibly slow way to go about things, especially when they had so many Gifted around with Gifts that would help for just this thing. Wasn't the little blond kid a telekinetic? And they had at least one with electrokinesis.
"I know how to use a hammer," offered Casey. It had been a while though. Long before he'd come to the school. And it felt like Casey had been at the school forever. His life before that was little more then a distant memory, someone else's life. Maybe a good television show.
"I mean, if I'm going to live here, I should help, right?" he pointed out. He headed over to the lumber, figuring he could at least get things together for the other two.

Needing to get away from the house, the mast majority of the kids, and surburbia in general Evehad headed out to the school. Not the school she had once called home, no now they had a new school. A school that needed a lot of work, but she didn't mind work. It would take her mind off of more troubling things like her continuing in intensity, and confusion relationship with Rae. A good hard days work sounded rather appealing at the moment.
Once at the school she followed the male voices that had quickly become familiar to her. She turned a corner and there they were all chatting away like some hens over their eggs. Men and their projects. Eve rolled her eyes and strolled up to the small group of males. Dressed to work in faded jeans, and a ripped up sweatshirt Eve smiled at them all in turn.
"Alright, boys. What's too havy for your tiny arms to lift?" That seemed like the perfect thing to say to get their attention.

Garion had been reluctant to use his gift, because well, it wasn't working. or to be more accurate, it was working too well. It started with something simple. He tried to grab a piece of soap while showering with his mind, only to have it crumple into a soapy mess. Just like the shampoo bottle crumbled, the hairbrush broke in half, and dish he was helping to put away broke into tiny fragments.
It had gotten worse lately. Sometimes things would levitate of their own will when he walked past them, a few inches off the ground and never with the same destructive force as the soap, bottle or plate, but noticeably enough. He had been teased as a showoff more than once, but kept his loss of control to himself. He considered going to Locke about it, but didn't, as he didn't want to seem like even more of a burden and he had enough things on his plate.
What would happen if the group found out? He was likely to be even more of a liability now than ever before. What if a sudden display of power alerted the townspeople around him, or worse, the Academy? What would they do with him then. He was too dangerous to keep around, but too dangerous to give to the Academy. He had already seen too much of the hiding place.
No, keeping it secret would be the only thing he could to.
He tried to busy himself by helping transport small and light things, wondering at how they felt even lighter than they looked. He wandered through the halls of the abandoned school, looking for a box that didn't feel like carrying air. He stopped at a medium sized box which he could carry with ease, but not such that he felt like he was carrying an empty box.
If he had just flipped it around, he would have read the hastily scrawled marker on the side.
"Dumbells- Prop. of School Weightlifting Club "

Locke strolled into the school and looked about, pulling a perfect copy of the diagrams from his pocket and laying them out on a table. He looked up as Garion passed him, and Locke COULD read the box that was passing him. He arched an eyebrow at the boy.
"Garion? Oh, clever use there, heh that's a nice trick." Of course he was using his telekinesis to lift it and make it look like he was lifting it. It had gotten much stronger lately so that much was obvious. Locke, of course, knew about Garion's telekinetic mishaps, who in the house didn't? It made sense though, it got stronger, he was just trying to get his finesse right.
"Lots of work to do today then." He said mumbling, and then looking over at Eve. "Oh..uh...Eve!" He called, still slightly intimidated by her. "I'm avoiding sending people into the basement because I'm not sure how structurally sound it is...and frankly I don't think there is anything down there that could even scratch you, so would you mind taking a look down there? Once we're sure it's not dangerous, I can come down there and get a better idea on what to do, plus we can have the rats and such down there do some recon for us when Kiri shows up."
He ran a finger over the diagram under his fingers, mumbling. He pulled out a set of reading glasses he rarely wore, and leaned over the paper, tracing lines with his fingers.

At the sound of a much younger voice she whipped around to stare at the young cat boy. Basement, eh? She grinned mischievously then cracked her knuckles loudly before pulling back her hair back into a messy bun.
"Alrighty then. Off to the dungeons with the dragon." Eve laughed as she headed over to him taking a glance at the blue prints. Really all she needed to do was keep going down. But it didn't hurt to look for the fastest way down. She spotted the nearest stare well and nodded.
"If I find buried treasure you all ain't getting any. And if I die I'll be sure to haunt you all." And her parents will probably try to find them and find out why their daughter died in such a dishonorable way. If she found anything truly dangerous she could always turn dragon and eat it. Or make a lot of noise to alert the others. Both were easily achieved and sounded like lots of fun.

Garion looked at Locke, completely puzzled. Was he being sarcastic? No... It was all too easy to tell when the blue haired teen was cracking a joke. Garion shook it off as a symptom of Locke having too much on his plate. He continued carrying the box, until he realized he had no idea where to put the thing.
So, back to Locke he jogged.
"Hey, Locke, um... where am I putting this... stuff?" He put the box down, the dumbells clanging inside.
"What's in there anyway?" He said more to himself than Locke.
