[red]Riana de Arcadia was a women of action, which is why she took her job seriously. She had been busy today, spending much of the day on a brutal training regime for the knights. She may have been a tough boss, but she was fair, and there were none among them who weren't capable warriors thanks to her sessions.
She had wrapped up one such session and was returning to her room to relax, perhaps take a shower and get something to eat, when she heard. It wasn't like an alarm was raised, but when you spend centuries doing your job, you learn small discrepancies. She made a detour to the front watches, coming up behind them like a wraith.
"What is it?" She asked, in her cool voice.
The younger female turned and gestured to the arch of the gates, where a pair of people were. "Captain, two people just touched down there, I can't see who though."
Riana was a women of action, so she stepped down to the path. "I'll deal with it then, I'm here anyway."
She approached the two people and called out.
"Halt, declare yourself."[/red]

Being unconscious the young fae girl could not possibly answer the demanding fae knight. Instead she lay on the ground where Star had put her. Her golden locks fell across the ground like liquid sun, and her cheeks were pale with her slowed heart beat. The girl would awaken again, but not for some time. No matter how hard the worried fae boy shook her.
She dreamed of a boy with blue hair and cat ears. Though to call them dreams would to speak a lie. What played across her minds eye was far from being a pleasant dream. Dark shadows flittered across him, and he screamed in pain. The young fae girl's hand fisted in real life and a very soft whimper emitted from her. For the same as in the real world she could not save her love.

OOC: Was gonna wait for Aaron, but I need Riana not stuck in a time freeze for the plot.
IC: [red]Riana noticed several things as she approached. The first would be that they were both fae, the boy and the girl. The second would be that the girl looked sick. Uninjured from what she could see, but not healthy. And what did Fae in the world do if one of them got poisoned or some such? They came here, because humans could not heal Fae, they didn't understand their unique biology. And gifts to do such only worked on minor injuries.
Without wasting more time Riana approached them quickly, bending down to examine Kiri. She wasn't a doctor, but she knew something of basic first aid. "What happened to her?" She asked first. She could grill the man on who he was later, for now she needed to make sure this girl was ok. There was something about her that was familiar, but Riana put it out of her mind. A quick check of pulse and lifting her eyelids for a moment revealed something that set her at ease.
"She's only unconscious, nothing serious but we'll have our people have a look at her. First thing is first though."
She didn't even bat an eyelash when she told the air to flow into her lungs, to force it's way in. With luck it would force her body to rouse herself, she might wake up coughing and out of breath, oddly enough, but it would work.
Effective? Yes. Gentle? No.[/red]

"She was hit by some sort of electricity gun... we were being chased. We.... she was looking for someone. I don't know who..." Star felt very useless at the moment, as the lady had much in control. "I'm Aaron Staar, light aspect, and this is Kiri Honeywater, animal aspect."
Star just looked around uselessly, not sure what to do.

Her mind was in darkness with only fleeting images of Locke when all of a sudden an elephant used her as a balloon. Gasping she opened her eyes wide and lifted her head slightly. Her hand went to her chest coughing, and taking great gasps of air. When she finally regained normal breathing her head laid back into the ground her eyes closed. Then slowly she opened them at the sound of her name.
"I'm...Kiri.." Hey usually bright blues were a bit clouded as she rolled them to face a fae woman. "I must find Karmine's sister. R-R-" Pausing her eyes went wide. She'd forgotten the name.
"Oh, no. I forgot." Her shaky hand went to touch her forehead as she tried to sit up the spot where the shock had hit her sore. "It started with an R I just know it."
So scared, chest hurting, and her mind a whirl about Locke tears started falling silently. "I have to find her and tell her that the students got kidnapped. That Mr. Karr needs help." She turned those crystaline blues eyes to the woman.
"Do you know my godfather? Karmine? He has red hair and talks kinda funny." Kiri looked so very lost and so very, very afraid.

[red]When Aaron introduced them, she knew. She had to know all of them of course, it was part of her job, but she knew her especially. She was one of the ones she'd asked her brother to keep an eye on. And then she spoke, and Riana arched an eyebrow. Karmine had sent them here, to find her?
"Calm yourself child." She said placing her hands on Kiri's shoulders to try and keep her stable. "You mean to say you don't see the similarity? You've found me already." She said quite plainly.
She was disturbed by what the girl said though. Karmine would have known that Riana could not get involved with external affairs, it was what the Queen had demanded. No, the fae were not going to get involved.
But against all that he knew, he asked for her help anyway. He sent two young fae here, one he called his god daughter to deliver this message, so he couldn't come himself. He would have come if he could have, but their presence here proved that whatever he needed her for it was dire indeed.
He was in a fight, that was like him. But Riana knew that was beyond the scope of what she was able to do, she couldn't leave and engage in a fight. Not with her position, it was too dangerous and directly against Minerva's orders.
So he'd wanted her to know a few things. Some students were kidnapped, that there must have been a fight if this girl was hit by one of their weapons as they fled, that would explain why Karmine stayed behind.
If Karmine sent for her, it was something he couldn't do. And there were very few things that one twin could do that the other could not. Riana had a pretty good idea.
"I am Riana deArcadia, captain of the knights of her majesty, Queen Minerva. You will come with me, and I will assist you as I can." She moved towards the gates, and gestured to the guard there, who moved aside immediately.
As she walked she asked. "Do either of you know any of the people who went missing? And I do not mean a passing meeting, I mean know like an old friend. Someone who you would recognize even if you couldn't see them?"[/red]

Kiri blinked feeling stupid for not noticing the similarities sooner. She blamed it on how she awoke, and how she went night-night. Kiri did her best to calm herself but it didn't seem to be working very well. Glancing at Star she was mystified how he seemed to be so calm.
She felt so cold and the edges of her sight was somewhat fuzzy. Everything seemed slightly out of focus, as if she was looking into a fish bowl. Something was wrong, she just didn't know what it was.
It had been a long time since she'd been back to the labyrinth. Didn't look like much had changed in the last couple of years since she'd been gone. The best part though was that it still felt like home to her. It also made her think of her mother, which made her sad.
The woman stood and Kiri did her best to stand as well she wobbled a bit but managed to keep her feet. Her hands went out to steady herself. This Fae girl was not used to dealing with emotional stress, fighting, and getting shocked. Then the wake up call. Face the color of ashen death she wrapped her arms around her waist. It was like someone had hooked her up to some machine and drained her life force away. Her knees felt shaky and she felt like throwing up.
"Locke. They took Locke. They took my Locke." The tears started again as she took step after shaky step. "He's...my boy friend."
Kiri sniffled her hands going to wipe at her eyes wishing that this was all some nightmare. That any minute she'd wake up with Locke shaking her awake. To tell her everything was alright now. But the dream wasn't going away. He wasn't waking her up. He was gone.

[red]Riana sighed. Trust her brother to send her an emotional wreck to work with. This was far too dangerous to do, but...
God she hated him sometimes.
"We can help him." Riana said simply, leading Kiri to an open area. It was a large room, with a dome on top of it, of course made of foliage and such, but it looked very much like a meeting hall.
"The wind hears many things, it hears him as well. It can tell us where he is, if you can hear it but..." She looked down to Kiri. "It is very dangerous, you will hear things you don't want to, the very truth of the world. My brother...he must love you very much if he sent you here. We agreed a long time ago that we would never use this unless it was the most dire of circumstances. That he called on it now, it speaks highly on how he thinks of you. But..."
She sighed. "This is very dangerous. It could change who you are forever, I cannot say. Even then it is not guaranteed to work. Do you understand all that I have told you?"
She locked her gaze with Kiri's. Child or not, if she was willing to risk her life and he very way of life for someone, then Riana would help. It was a promise on the most important thing to Riana. Her family, they had sworn on their family name that they would honor this promise they made no matter what. He'd never ask it of her unless it was of the most dire circumstances, and she would not refuse it.
So now it all rested on this tiny child's shoulders. Did she really have the ability to endure this?
Riana didn't even look at Aaron. As far as she was concerned, his job was done when he arrived here. But he would make a good escort for the girl.[/red]

She walked along beside Mr. Karr's sister there but not really there. Her mind was fuzzy blinking images across her eyes. The moment she learned about Locke. Mr. Karr helping her and telling her to leave. Star coming with her. That man lying about being her godfather. Getting shot. Waking up in pain.
Kiri turned determined eyes up at the woman after she finished explaining all that will occur. This woman was offering her a way to help, to save Locke. The blond fae girl stopped dead in her tracks her tears ceased to flow as she stared up at the woman.
"I will. I'll do anything that it takes to save him. I don't care what happens to me." Her arms dropped to tight, little fists at her sides. "If I change because of this and I end up losing him. It won't matter because he'll be alive. I don't know what's happening to him, but whatever it is I want it to stop."
Taking the last few steps to stand in front of the woman her blue eyes dark and angry. "Tell me what to do."

[red]Riana smiled, all Fae women were strong. No matter what they wore on the outside, they were all the same inside. Strong and loyal.
"All right, come here, close your eyes and focus just on listening. I'm going to start now..."
And Riana focused. Calling the wind in part of a pact older then even she could remember.
"Spirits of the wind, guide all that rides of the air to this nexus. We require the wisdom of the winds, lend us your guidance."
Aaron would be the one to noticed, being the only one there with his eyes open, that a torrent of what appeared to be streams of fog surrounded the pair in a whirlwind. In a moment, both of them were cut off from view.
Kiri would hear as if thousands of people were talking to her at once. All as if they were right next to her. So much of it so it sounded like gibberish, impossible to pick out more then bits of pieces. A voice cuts trough the madness though.
"Focus on the sound of his voice. Listen for it. Try to block out all else."
Mixed in with the noise some things stick out. Screams, shouting, cries, after all, it is the most bitter emotions that are loudest. It is in the middle of this symphony of screams that something flies across the wind. Just another scream, but that allowed it to be heard.[/red]
[blue]"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"[/blue]
[red]And then that whisp too went silent.[/red]

Star looked around at the sudden rolling fog. He tried to call out, but his voice would not be heard. He even attempted to call his aspect, but his friends could not reach him.
The two women were in the eye of a tornado, and try as he might, Star could not reach them. His even more frantic cries were whipped away by the wind.
Why wasn't anyone coming for help? Why did no one see this immense threat?

Right before the winds, and the fog she looked at Star and smiled weakly, then waved as if to say good bye. Then as they were lost in the whirl wind of voices she held her arms close trying to focus. This act, to focus, seemed impossible with all the voices crying out to be heard.
Kiri was a positive girl, a light hearted girl, a girl who lived, thrived, and bloomed in sunlight and laughter. What she heard now was far from any of that. Her eyes were closed as if that could shut out the horrors being heard. Face hidden in her hands she tried to hear him. All she could hear were screams, crying, and people in pain.
But then, through it all came his cry, his scream. A scream to which she answered. "NOOOOOOO! NO! NOO!" Kiri screamed her hands fisting she bowed back her head and screamed. Over and over she screamed until her voice was raw which lead to tears.
Now she knew that he was in pain. Now she knew that her love was being hurt. Now...she knew the truth.

[red]It was too much for the girl, Riana knew such would be the case. Riana had heard everything Kiri did, but when Kiri screamed loudly she stopped herself. Had she heard the right voice? Riana shot open her eyes and lashed out at the air, seeming to grab a wisp of fog in her fist. First of all, the tornado dissipated in a blast of air and secondly the screams and yells faded away, what could be heard from this single wisp of air was not intelligible to her. Scraping and grinding, a series of shouts of pain. But not of 'Ow you hurt me' pain, no this was something akin to bitter pain...pain of some truth. Like what Kiri was experiencing.
Riana felt the cost of requesting such on her, but it wasn't done yet. She pulled the single wisp of fog close and seemed to say only to it.
"Show me."
Shadowy images formed from clouds of smoke, without shape at first, then taking shape. A small figure stood among them, he looked short, scholarly, and like a demon. Those ears gave it away. Which Riana had problems with demons, she wasn't about to choose now to speak of that.
The boy himself seemed to be, perhaps in pain was not the best way to put it. He seemed scared, he seemed out of his mind as well. His head ducked, his arms covering his head. Things seemed to be orbiting him, flying all around him. The sight expanded a bit more, and Riana could see what looked like a destroyed room, pieces of it flying everywhere. Of course it was impossible to see what was making them fly. The air created images by sonar, and energy would not be visible to it.
"He is yet alive." Riana said, finding her own breath coming hard. To spite her best efforts, she fell to a knee with a grunt. There was a reason they rarely used that. For her, the cost in power had been extraordinary, even when she was well rested, Kiri just had the emotional damage from it.
Which may or may not have been worse. She seemed to look to Aaron, still holding the wisp of air.
"This...can take you to him. It will pull you towards wherever that was, and the sound that comes from there. It isn't too far but..." She wobbled a bit.
"It's up to you now, I can do no more...except...."
With one final order to the now very annoyed spirits of wind a single wisp flew off, in the direction of the Academy.
"His life...it's up to you now." She said, feeling terrible for the burden she'd put on these children.
She'd asked to grow up, and she had obliged her. But still...[/red]

Tears still falling she watched as Riana's wind formed Locke He looked so scared, and in pain. What was hitting him? What was causing things to fly about? Confused her mind tricked her into believing he was there She took a few steps forward her hand outstretched.
Then he was gone.
"Locke..." She listened as the woman spoke but she didn't understand. She didn't understand how this was going to help them. All she could tell was that this let her know bad things were happening, and that he was alive.
"I don't know how to use air. How do we use this?" Kiri stepped closer to the woman who looked as if she were about to pass out.
"Do we follow it?" At this thought she readied her wings fluttering the yellow and black butterfly set. Of course she'd do whatever it took, she proved that by listening to those voices Those horrible voices.
Tears having stopped she glanced at Star. "Will you come with me? I'll go alone if need be, but it would be nice to have a friend by my side."

As suddenly as the tornado arrived, it dissipated. And then Kiri was asking of him a favor far greater than any other asked of him.
Could he? Did he dare go with her to a place that even the Academy didn't dare go?
He looked back down at Kiri, who was so determined to save this boy, to do whatever it took. He looked at her and couldn't help but give a small smile. "Of course... Of course I'll come. I didn't go this far to see you go alone, did I?"
Aaron turned to Riana. "Are there any details we need to know before we leave?"
