It was such a weird thing, to have a day off now. Not that the woman wasn't used to having days off, it's just that she had been so busy since she had moved to America. Just getting settled in general and then the running of her yoga classes and such. It was all very overwhelming.
Now, Delia was walking through the streets of Masonville, frankly looking quite different than she usually did. She was donned in a pair of skinny jeans and simple brown boots. A wool peacoat was draped over her skinny frame, and around her neck, a Keffiyeh was peaking out. Her hair bounced on her shoulders with every single step that she took.
Her eyes caught sight of a small cafe as she wandered through the streets. She could sure use a good cup of tea at the moment, she still wasn't used to the biting cold of America and silently cursed Zack for bringing her to such a cold place in which she had to cover up. Though the argument that she was cold wasn't a good enough reason for her to hide her legs from her boyfriend. Delia hauled open the door to the cafe and felt the warm rush of air from the building. Taking a deep breath of all the scents swirling around in the air, she pleasantly made her way to to the register to order her much needed cup of tea.

The chill had driven Morgan inside. The Almasy girl had recently been performing in what passed for a park in Masonville, and had been heading back to the Academy when she passed by the cafe. The smells had drawn her off the street, into the cafe itself. Fortunately she just happened to have a few spare bills on her, and she quickly paid for a nice, hot drink.
She'd already been seated, her hand curled around the cup, a battered guitar near her stool, when Delia walked in. The spunky Cavan knew the woman, having met her back in England. She hadn't seen her since the switch, and had honestly figured Miss Karnstein had remained across the pond.
The two had gotten along fairly well, and there were few females that Morgan could look up to. Since Miss Karnstein shared Morgan's Gift, that meant the older woman was worth respecting. At least, to Morgan's eyes.
"Hello, Miss Karnstein!" greeted Morgan, risking one hand to wave at the entering woman. "Come in from the cold?"
she smiled and nodded to the outside world. "Brisk, huh? Not much better then England."
Smiling, she took a sip, watching Delia. Should she choose to sit with Morgan, Morgan wouldn't object.

After Delia had paid for the cup of steaming tea, she turned around to be faced with the younger Cavan. It was a surprise to see her that was for sure, a familiar face in a place that was all so unfamiliar, and Delia was happy to see someone else to talk to other than Zack. Even though Morgan was a few years younger than her, it was nice to have a female to talk to when you spent all your time with a male.
"Hello Morgan" Delia said kindly to the younger female, offering her a smile.
"Yes, quite brisk indeed," she said in response to the girls questioning, though it did catch her off guard, she couldn't admit that she didn't like being bombarded with questions. Trying to get her 'life' in order, she made her way over to the table where Morgan was sitting. Shoving things back in her bag without trying to spill any of her tea that she had paid for, cause that would just be a right bummer.
"Do you mind?" she asked, it seemed to her that she wouldn't actually. After all she did start talking to her first, the girl could be looking for company as well.

The youngest Cavan had actually slid out of her seat when she saw Delia having some difficulty with her bags. When it became apparent that the older woman could handle things on her own, Morgan returned to her stool, smiling again.
"Gee, let me think... do I mind?" despite her words, the girl waved at the seat across from her, indicating that Delia should take it, should she feel so inclined. "I talked to you first, after all."
Morgan grabbed her drink again, hiding her smile behind the cup as she took a sip.
"How's things with you?" she asked once her drink had finished. "I haven't seen you around lately..."

Delia offered the youngest Cavan a smile before sliding into her seat. She placed her tea onto the table and looked over at Morgan.
"Oh, It's been crazy busy" she said, a sense of tiredness in her voice, "I'm still trying to get settled into America, it's been harder than usual for me to get used to one place, I blame the fact that I am now living with a male" she finished with a playful roll of her eyes and small giggle.
"What has you busy these days Miss Morgan?" she asked the younger girl curiously. She remembered seeing her back over in England and how they knew each other, but never really knew each other.

"Living with a male, huh?" Morgan's eyes took on a teasing glint, and clearly she didn't intent to let this subject just lie there. She did, however, have just enough tact to answer Delia's questions, though Morgan had already logged her prying for later.
"A lot has me busy these days. My Gift's been doing freaky stuff lately. Like, I remember everything now." Morgan shrugged. "It's alright, I guess. Makes studying easier. Jon and I are dealing. Kennedy's engaged to Angela now, so I've got that to deal with. God knows I'm gonna have to do something."
Morgan rolled her eyes emphatically. As much as she loved her brother, and was growing to love Angela, she still rated both of them as fairly incompetent. Particularly when dealing with something like this.
"Now, what's this about your living with a male? I thought you were all uptight and stuff." Yes, Morgan had just enough lack of tact to use that exact wording. Abrasive sometimes, no?

Delia's eyes widened slightly upon hearing the news about Kennedy and Angela getting married. Though she didn't know the two that much, they weren't much younger than she was. It was kind of a shock, but then again in Egypt they marry them off young.
"Is that what they said about me? Uptight? Hmmm, I had no idea" Delia said casually with a small grin on her face as she said it. She was well aware that even Zack thought that she was a little uptight, and she was for a while, but it seemed that she loosened up quite a bit.
"There is a difference between being uptight and being prudish" she said, turning her attention to her tea for a moment. Delia took a casual sip placing the cup back down, focusing her eyes back on Morgan. Did she think that she was the only one who could pry about love lives?
"So, besides 'dealing', how are things with you an Jon?" she asked.

"Yeah, uptight," Morgan shrugged. Pulling punches just wasn't her style, even with someone who had technically been authority figure. Even now, Morgan held a good deal of respect for Delia, even if she wasn't about to vocalize it.
"You always covered everything, and quite a few people gabbed about you and Zack, er, Mr. Faire," offered Morgan, shrugging. "And you were straight laced and all. So, yeah, uptight."
She looked to her coffee cup, wondering for a moment if this was the best conversation to be having. It was almost insulting, the way it was going. But... she just couldn't sugar-coat things. Besides, Morgan had never said she felt that way.
"Jon and I are..." Morgan fished for a word for a few moments, "complicated. We're very..." again, fishing, "different. It's hard, really. And who knows how long it's gonna last..."

"I'm perfectly aware of what they said about me Morgan" Delia said with a slight smirk, she took another sip of the tea, savouring it.
"I've learned to deal," she started again "when you grow up conservatively in a liberal minded country, labels get stuck to you like white on rice"
Delia went on to listen to Morgan speak about Jon, and how they were so different, and how it was complicated. A bigger smile came to her face as she thought of how different her parents were. A semi-liberal German born man and a strictly conservative Egyptian born woman, yet they found love and it lasted all these years.
"You know Morgan, different isn't always bad, there is some truth to they saying about opposites attracting," she said, resting her arms casually on the table. Her eyes traveled down to her hands and then back up at the younger girl. Delia paused for a moment before she began speaking again.
"People have told me to marry someone I enjoy talking to, because then you always have something to do once the passion fades; but then again people have told me to find someone who ignites a flame within you and can reflect the same flame"
Delia bit her bottom lip slightly, worried that she was beginning to sound like one of those cheese inspirational poster quotes.
"Anyways, what I'm trying to say is that if you really want things to work out, you and Jon have to work at it, it's going to be hard before it gets easy"

Well, Miss Karnstein appeared to be taking the slight dig very well, which made Morgan all the happier. She'd been worried that the ex-teacher would be offended by the blunt name, but apparently Delia had heard it before. Which was slightly sad, really, but at least it was better for Morgan.
"It's better to be labeled uptight then loose," offered Morgan. "At least, I think so anyway. It's better for the reputation, that's for sure."
She offered Delia a weak grin, then listened closely as the older woman began a cliche ridden explanation of relationships. Despite the obvious use of old sayings, Delia's speech still rang true to Morgan's ears. The older woman was trying to work it out, and this was how she did it. Simple as that. No need to start analyzing all the specific words.
"Yeah, I guess," Morgan admitted once Delia finished. "But I'd still like it if it were a bit easier, you know? and I'm really not sure it's worth the effort..."
Morgan trailed off, wondering why most of her conversations worked their way around to Jon. Had he become that big a part of her life now? It certainly seemed that way.
"So, uh," Morgan shifted in her seat, flailing for a conversation topic, "what are you doing now, that you're not, uh, teaching?"

Delia sat back and listened. It was so like the younger people these days to want everything and not want it to be hard. Everybody went through that stage, heck Delia went through that stage all throughout her school years. But she figured Morgan would get over that eventually, she was a smart girl.
Delia let out a small nod when Morgan said she wasn't sure if it was worth the effort for a relationship. Somedays, that's what Delia felt too, but for her, she wanted to put in the effort because she loved Zack. She wanted to make it work so much it hurt sometimes.
"Doing? You mean besides trying to keep my life in order?" Delia asked with a laugh, "Oh just odd jobs I guess, here and there, teaching yoga at the moment"

"Yoga, hmm," Morgan contemplated that for a few moments. She'd actually learned some yoga herself. It hadn't been something she'd really been interested in though. Too much stretching, not enough action. Good for when you had a sore muscle, and little else.
"Sounds like you," Morgan finally admitted. she smirked at Delia, winking a little. "Maybe I should show up to a class, make you feel like you're doing an awesome job as a teacher. Not that you aren't anyway, of course."
Morgan supposed she made most coaches and teachers feel good. The girl learned so fast! I only had to show her once! It was times like that that made Morgan wonder if perhaps her Gift wasn't all that amazing.
