So, I'm Hero, nice to meet y'all. I'm female and have an unhealthy obsession with Germans. I think that about sums me up.
Anywho, I'm making two fae characters. Their names are Roxanne and Travis, BUT I see there are already peeps with those names. Would I have to change them?
Can fae even have normal names like Roxanne and Travis?
Are there any humans running around here? The other character I'm making is a Polish human named Karol that is being followed by one of the faeries mentioned above. She's pretty smitten with him.
I'm thinking about giving Karol a little fae or dragon blood from a few generations back. Say his great grandparent was a dragon. Would this slightly affect him, or would it be so watered down that it doesn't make a difference anymore?

For Aspects, does heat count? You don't have to change their names if you don't want to. A lot of people like to have original names for their characters so they don't get mixed up with characters that are already established on the site. Roxanne Ashley is a fiery, free-spirited blonde with a passion for adventure. Travis Sivart is the resident BAMF, and though not actively rp'd anymore, he established his reputation as a hard-ass agent-turned-private-investigator years ago. He's also the father of Angela Wingrose (an actively played character).  This is just general information. Seeing as how those characters are/were once mine, I don't mind you using the same name as them at all - just like IRL, people will have the same names, I don't see why it would matter here. Those two names are common enough - it would just be very strange to see someone else want to use the name 'Eiji' or 'Karmine'. Seeing as how I've never rp'd a fully fae character, I'm not sure what the other writers used for their naming process... Karmine, Cerridwen, Minerva, Kiri... they all sound a little exotic to me, so I'm sure there's some sort of back-story that connects them to the faedom. You should shoot them a PM if you're curious. Also, is Karol a woman or a man? You used both 'she' and 'him' to describe them. And if they're human, but with watered down blood, they wouldn't really have any special powers. Maybe a slightly higher-than-average heat resistance or something, but nothing out of the ordinary. We allow human characters (we had one Lt. David Rand at one point), but a lot of people prefer having a character with Gifts or whatnot. Because that's the benefit of the site, really, lol. But we'll never frown on having a human character - it'll spice things up, for sure. It's awesome too if they're already connected somehow to the MOSh universe, like you mentioned about him/her being in love with a fae. Pretty interesting. <3 Also, I have no idea when it comes to aspects. There's a bunch of aspects for everything. I'd say heat is fine, there just has to be some way the fae can communicate with 'heat particles' or something, because that's how aspects work. |

These are both your characters? That's pretty weird. Great minds think alike?
Also, thanks for clearing things up! I wasn't sure who to PM because I don't know who's active. Are any of the fae characters still active? |

Roxanne is my character, so is Angela (Travis's daughter). I originally created Travis, but handed the writing reigns over to my friend Chris, who is the other administrator right now. Haha. Rob (Karmine) is probably off doing some covert navy mission, and I'm never sure what Amber (Kiri) is up to, but you should shoot Jackie (Cerridwen, Minerva) a PM. She's usually fairly active, and I'm sure she'd be happy to help. She always gets excited when there are new fae characters, seeing as how she rps the Queen and the queen's sister. |
