The list was big. The list was all over the place. Ken held the list, stained already with beer, grinning at a brooding Dorian Wilde. Jon was in the little boys' room, and should be out any time. If worse came to worst, it would just be the three of them like old times. And that wouldn't have been so bad if Dorian didn't look like someone had torn his heart from his chest and stomped on it right before his eyes.
"Who else is supposed to come?"
Ken patted Dorian on the back.
"Atta boy! I knew you'd get into the swing of things eventually. Let's see here," he cleared his throat dramatically and started reading off the list.
"Almasy, Bell, Cavan, Copeland. Cylo, D'mitrii, Herald. Nightingale, St. John, Wakeman, Welles."
Ken finished his second beer, willing himself to be a lightweight. Stupid muscles burning everything so quickly... If he stayed completely still and had someone pour four more into him...
"Who the hell is Cylo, D'mitrii, and Herald?"
Ken snorted, "Only the coolest kids ever! No but actually, I found the school registry and found Cylo. Jon said something about a Lark Herald so I put him on. And you've been living under a rock if you don't know who D'mitrii is."
"And who was Welles? Sorry, I just caught the last bit of your list," Jon said, causing the two other boys to turn.
"Tory Welles. I see him around sometimes when I'm working out. He's cool." Ken offered with a casual shrug, ordering another beer. He could pull off 21. Jon obviously couldn't, but he didn't drink anyway. Dorian slapped his fake ID out whenever he needed something strong.
"And Nightingale?"
"Apparently he pisses off Wakeman, soo..."
The bar door opened and Ken looked up.
"It's about time!"

"F**k you, Kenneth," spat Rae, stepping into her club. She'd just stepped out for a few moments, doing a quick check to see if anyone had arrived. Apparently Kenneth had elected to have a gathering of boys, and had planted himself and his people in her club. Rae still wasn't sure if she should be angered or thrilled to have been included as "one of the guys." She was a girl, and proud of it; just, very rough around the edges.
"Disnae give th' loud one any drinks," ordered Rae. She wiggled a finger around Kenneth, grinning. "Nor th' wee one." That was Jon. "But th' smarmy lad's fine."
And with that, Rae quash two of the three boys' drinking habits, while granting a third. Really, she probably would have pulled for Kenneth too, and would eventually. But she thoroughly enjoyed giving him hell, if only because he consistently dated Kellan.
"Tell me he invited someone cool," begged Rae. She strolled over to Jon, throwing and arm over his shoulders. "An' sorry aboot nae lettin' ye drink, lad. Isnae a good habit ta pick oop young, I'm afeared."
she sighed, shaking her head. "I'm a horrible influence though."
With that, she strolled up to the bar, tapping twice. A drink for Dorian and a drink for Rae appeared. Rae grabbed hers, saluted, and drank.

Noah was more or less on time, for more or less the very first time. The Cavanite had a consistent habit of showing up to parties already way past inebriated and still somehow with more energy than anyone who arrived after him. Though that wasn't the case tonight, as Noah entered the club clean and sober, his eyes bright and trademark smile intact. 'Boys nights' - at least in Noah's eyes - were sort of a sacred tradition among men that were not to be spoiled for many, many reasons. Showing up drunk was just bad form because part of the ridiculous dogma that went along with a guy's night out, was about bonding, a ritual that usually took place in the form of a lot of messy, loud and usually very competitive, drinking.
Chuckling to himself, the blonde made his way through the club, searching the room for Kenneth. He spotted the half-djinn after a moment and headed over, waving an arm to signal his arrival just as the other boy made notice of him.
"Yeah, yeah. You know how it goes," he paused, shrugging listlessly despite the liveliness in his eyes, "couldn't find anything to wear." Noah laughed, his smile widening so that it stretched ear-to-ear and he elbowed Kenneth before signaling down a beer over the boy's shoulder. Thankfully he looked well past his age and the fake ID in his wallet was always ready if the situation called. Unlike most of the Academy's students, Noah was born and raised an American, and so he had spent the last few years of his teenage life finding a way to skim around the smothering age restrictions in the good old US of A.
"Hey Jon, Dorian." Pushing up the sleeves of his polo, Noah turned his attention to the other boys and greeted them each with warming smiles and a nod. He didn't know Jon very well, but liked the boy for as much as he did; and he was Morgan's boyfriend, and as far as Noah was concerned, if she liked the boy, he should to. Dorian was a bit of another story simply because they were very different creatures and Noah's brash personality had seemed to grate on the other boy's nerves since their very first encounter. Plus, he suspected that the half-elf thought there had been something between he and Elliot, which only served to remove anymore remaining chance of the two boys ever becoming the very best of friends.
Turning his attention to the fourth soul, Noah grinned wryly, having only caught the last few snipets of her conversation and already found himself amused. It didn't take long for it to dawn on him just exactly who the fiery Scot was.
"You, must be the infamous Raelena." Running a hand through his shaggy hair to keep it out of his eyes, the blond was impressed, and made no motion to hide it from his expression. If the Rockstar warmed to Noah, as he already found himself genuinely hoping, he could easily imagine the two of them getting along famously. Leaning against the bar besides Kenneth, the Cavanite smiled as the bartender slid him a beer and he cracked it open without hesitation.

Yet another party to attend, yet more people to mingle with that he'd never met and will most likely never meet again. Yet again he found himself getting dressed up, cleaned up, snazzied up for some gathering of people.
The invitation given to him earlier by Joshua made him groan, but Joshua pointed out that it might actually be fun. To go to a non-red carpet type of party. So there he was walking down the street toward a place called The Cave.
"Let the show begin." He opened the door and stepped inside. Spotting a group of males by the bar he figured he could start there in his search for this gathering he was supposed to attend. Good a group as any. Seemed like a lively bunch for the most part, save a gloomy looking sort. Near what looked like the center of the boys.
"Hello all, are any of you the sender of this snazzy invite?" Micah held up the invitation with a grin. "Because I have to say I'm rather ready for a decent night out."
They looked more entertaining than most of the people at his other parties. These were real people. These people weren't focused soley on landing a new high paying job for the biggest magazine. Or trying to snag the media's attention with a new pretty on thier arm. He could be wrong but they looked pretty real to him. Micah went over to the group flipping the invite card along his fingers.

Kennedy really needed a boys' night out right about now. Forgetting about things and just cutting loose sounded awesome. Besides, Kenneth was always good to lighten the mood.
Kennedy also really needed a drink.
The Head of Cavan house had thrown on a loose dress shirt, red, over a basic tee, black, and baggy jeans. After all, he certainly didn't need to attract anyone anymore. So Kennedy dressed more or less for comfort.
He walked in, already familiar with the Cave. Grinning, he waved at Jon, recognizing his sister's boyfriend immediately. He also remembered a recent conversation between siblings. They'd fought, and it hadn't been pretty.
Kennedy also raised a hand for Kenneth, waiting to get a high-five. "Hey, Kenneth! What's up?"
He felt his Gifts shift as he strolled by people, but adjusted easily enough. Kenneth's and Jon's were both familiar, after all. And apparently the blonde guy and Dorian had relatively easy to handle Gifts. Just so long as no one with pheromone production showed up.
"Hey, Rae!" Kennedy called, waving to his friend. "The usual."
He then turned back to Kenneth, still smiling, "Awesome idea, man."

Ken chuckled at Raelena's entrance until she cut him off.
"Hey now," He protested, "that's not cool. At least give me a double shot of whatever it is you gave Grey."
Ken ignored Dorian's snark at the unfavourable nickname. But he smirked at Raelena chastising Jon.
"I wish you'd be a bad influence for him. This boy don't drink nothing - Copeland!"
Ken was using surnames today. Apparently it was la mode, and Ken was all about being a la mode. At least today he was.
"You look fine," he added at Noah's joke. He really liked Noah; he was a guy who always carried a joyful disposition and a riddle up his sleeve. Plus Ken was confident he could win a game of 'Who Can Drink The Most Without Passing Out'.
And as Noah began introductions with Rae, he grinned. What would Raelena St. John think of the upbeat Noah Copeland?
Then Micah walked in, and Ken hit Dorian forcefully, causing the slim young man to nearly fall off his stool. With an apologetic smile and then a jovial grin, Kenneth nodded to the star.
"It was me," He raised his hand in greeting, "Refreshing to fly under the radar and behind the spotlights every once and a while, huh?" He was totally bullshitting, but he figured that the secret life of celebrities couldn't be fun 24/7. Nyeh, if not, who cared. Micah D'mitrii was in the building!
As Kennedy showed up, Ken returned the high-five with that boyish crooked grin.
"You knew I was brilliant."
Bold is added text.

Post by Locke F. Herald on Dec 8, 2008 22:14:43 GMT -5
Ok, why was he doing this again? Sneaking to a bar/club of all places, the dredge of society? Well there were two reasons really, and he considered them to be the most noble of reasons.
One: It was a social experiment, see how the males of the area reacted. What made them tick, how they acted, he might be able to observe and learn. He'd have to modify his findings of course, it would be lke trying to put carbon in a rin, you had to purify and work on it to make it a diamond. No, this was the raw information gathering, he'd refine it into something he could use later.
The second reason was actually the location. Kennedy had told him a while ago about Raelena St. John, the Lycan Alpha, a rockstar, and a major played of any conflict that degraded into violence. He had been interested in meeting her since before he sent Eve after her (which only ended badly according to the papers that next day.) but could never be allowed access to the bar where she was most often seen.
This, Locke theorized, was fate giving him a chance. This would be the only real chance to get into a place where he would know that she was, so he'd take it.
Still though, might be better for him to keep to himself, he did tend to attract a lot of attention. Slipping into the club he slid into a chair in the darkest corner, which, in this poorly lit club, was pretty damn dark. He looked over the floor of it with his ears covered by a sweatshirt instead of his usual coat, tonight he didn't want to be recognized by a random passerby. So he watched. What would happen this night then?
He quickly noticed the women who matched the picture he had found of St. John, and that wasn't hard to find, and he smirked.
This was going to be easier then he thought. Now then, why don't you show me how you act?
Then he noticed Kennedy enter as well, and he also spied Morgan's boyfriend. They both seemed in high spirits.
Oh great, just great. I really didn't need this...

OoC; Kenneth left Kennedy hanging, burrrrrrrrn
"So ye heard o' me?" teased Rae, winking. She didn't know or recognize the cute blond, but did like his attitude. Enough that she could get over her little guy-phobia for a few moments. She smirked at him, pointing at his drink with her bottle.
"Ye sure ye old enoof fir tha' stuff?" she questioned. "I disnae want ta get busted fir servin' minors. Ye better be major material, lad."
She took another swig, then eyed the two newcomers. The first wasn't familiar, and she didn't take very well to his attitude. People like that were all over the place in the music business, and Rae had long since learned to ignore them. Then again, they surprised Rae often enough.
The other just happened to be one of her best male friends, and she nodded to him, turning and slapping the bar. Soon Kennedy's "usual" materialized, carried over to him by a rather buxom barmaid. Yes, Rae had hired barmaids, and yes, they were buxom.

"Of course," His smile brightened at her answer, causing his features to illuminate until he was the very picture of mirth. "Of course I've heard of you." Noah, like more or less the rest of Earth's population, owned all of Rae's CD's, and it wasn't just her music that he was so drawn too. The girl could sing, there was no questioning that, but she had one hell of a personality to go along with it, and it came through all of her work. Being able to meet the girl and find out that she really indeed was everything he found so fascinating was obviously a sign; tonight would be nothing short of epic.
As she motioned to his drink, Noah shifted his weight, touching a spot at the top of his spin, his smile becoming a charmingly sheepish grin. "Yes ma'am." He nodded affirmatively, skillfully avoiding her question while reassuring her at the same time. As the Rock star turned her attention to Kennedy, he took another long swig from his beer and used the moment to take in all the new comers. He linger on Micah for hardly a second, refraining from forming an opinion as his bright gaze slid over to Kennedy, the boy wonder. Though they had never been introduced, Noah knew Kennedy by reputation and sight, and with some things aside, he had thought the head Cavan to be a pretty cool guy; which, among other 'guys', is a fairly first-class ranking.
"So," he nudged Kenenth before taking another gluttunous sip from his beer, "how's the lady?" Generally curious about his friend and his firecracker of a girlfriend, Noah cocked his head to the side, looking interested.

Without looking at the buxom's barmaid's bouncing bosoms, Kennedy deftly grabbed his dark drink. He took a swig of it, nodding to Kenneth. He also raised the bottle in greetings to Noah. They may have never been introduced, but Kennedy had heard of Noah through the grapevine.
He also might have done a little snooping, you know, since Noah kept flirting with Kennedy's sister.
"Ignore her," he advised. He pointed at his friend. "Rae's a huge enabler. She's giving lip-service so she doesn't get in trouble, but she'd not about to go plucking drinks from hands."
Kennedy knew full well that his friend would be giving out free ones before the night was over. Probably already putting most of these on her own personal tab. Apparently having platinum albums meant you had lots of money. Go figure.
"Hey, yeah," Kennedy nodded to Kenneth. "How's Kellan doing?"
Kennedy had wanted to ask the question himself, but didn't want to look too horribly whipped. Fact was, he knew fairly well how Kellan was doing, since he'd just seen her a short time ago.

Seriously; what had happened to the raging party freak? He was only eighteen, but somewhere along the way, he'd toned down on the constant drinking and partying. He imagined it had something to do with the unmentionable incident back in France during the summer, involving Draco, an inconspicuous Kaylen and a old, old, old willow tree that happened to be way more stronger than his baby. And maybe, though he wouldn't admit it, he didn't really find the need to drink as compelling as he had then.
Kenneth's invitation was still well met, even if Draco would be a no-show, though he had dropped a lot of hints before he had left. To Kaylen, he'd left about five consecutive text messages, the last of which clearly stated that if the best friend didn't show up that night, he'd be dead to Eiji for the next week.
He wasn't late, but he wasn't on time either, and honestly, Eiji wasn't sure what had happened in between walking out of his front door and arriving at The Cave. His ability seemed to be forgotten, intentionally in most cases, and he had instead driven his replacement car while his was being repaired; he didn't want a foreign Merc, just his Alix, except brand new. It didn't occur to him to dress down, and to try and not draw attention to himself, at all, and so he felt incredibly self-conscious, if there ever was a time, in his pine green RL polo and not-to-be-named shorts.
The first person he noticed was Noah, and then Kenneth, and then Jon. Of the crowd gathered, he liked maybe half of them, and Eiji immediately pulled a face; he was such an ass. But Kenneth was trying, and Rae had allowed them all inside her club, so the least he could do was make a genuine attempt at having a good time. "Hey!" he called out to Ken, waving a half-salute, and the makings of a quirk were forming. To Rae, he offered a real grin, and instantly wondered where all the girls were at, just so he could annoy her in having them all on his arm.

Ken was Mr. Popular tonight, and he was soaking it up. At Noah and Kennedy's inquiries about Kellan, he beamed. Yeah. That smile was reserved specially for talk about his girlfriend.
"She's doing great. Fire's still burning, if you know what I mean," he laughed, making his voice deliberately suggestive. He of course was playing on her personality, what the boys knew about her, and her 'gift'.
"How about Angela? Oh hey Noah you were hooking up with a brunette the last time I saw you. Anything come out of that?" He decided it was best to reciprocate the questions. What did guys talk about anyway? Girls, how manly they were, and sometimes more girls, and manly topics.
Then when Eiji walked in and greeted him like an old friend, Kenneth waved back simply by raising his hand and grinning.
"St. John was just talking about how much she missed you," he joked, winking roguishly. He didn't notice the kid in a hoodie, as he was much too distracted with all the guys surrounding him, as well as an itching desire to meet Micah D'mitrii.

Dorian thanked Raelena wordlessly for the drink, saluting her as he drained the entire thing in one setting. He needed no prompting, no challenge, no games to intoxicate himself. The lightweight was hammered by the end of the bottle.
When everyone arrived, Dorian only acknowledged a select few. A select few being Eiji, whom he merely nodded to. He wasn't a fan of Noah, nor was he part of Kennedy's fanclub. Raelena was someone he was neutral about, although he truly did appreciate the free drink.
"Jon, you want water or something?"
He already ordered the drink for the younger boy, who did look a bit thirsty the more he eyed the older kids' drinks.

In the real world, Duke was what you would call an asshole. He was the guy who always smoked your last cigarette, puked in the back of your car, grabbed your girls breasts on a regular basis without pretending it was an accident, and he swore in Church. But he was damning with just how endearing he was, no joke, because Duke Bell also opened bar tabs with platinum Visa's, never short-changed for coffee and always had his phone on him so he could come pick you up from the hotel where you were staying at with who you thought was a girl. He was crude, but so ridiculously humbling before most girls, selfish but extremely charitable, and he was also a man of habit.
He'd arrived at the Cave five minutes prior to nine, but had been otherwise occupied meeting with people that were actually not allowed to be mentioned in public. It wasn't until a familiar Maserati pulled up that Duke thought it best to make his way inside; he wanted to be with the owner of the car before it got stolen, which it undoubtedly would, and it would only serve the idiot right. Wearing his least expensive clothes and feeling absolutely smug about it, he strolled into the club, fifteen drinks behind and kinda horny as hell.
"Where are the girls?" he demanded, because these had better not be the faces he'd be getting drunk with; that would be extremely wrong.

Noah grinned at Kennedy as he spoke, tipping back his beer so that he could finish it, draining the bottle quickly enough as the conversation turned to Kellan. The Cavanite fiddled with the empty bottle for a moment, feeling just as fidgety as usual. Eiji strolled in, as that seemed to be the only way he ever entered the room, and Noah raised a hand in greeting before setting down his empty beer and tapping the counter for another.
"I, she, er-" Noah laughed, that jolly noise that originated from the very pit of him. "Nothing man, she just turned out to be a little too, morally relaxed for my taste." Trash just wasn't Noah Copeland's style. Grinning, his second beer showed up and inwardly, the blonde immediately swore to himself that he would continue to drink beer for at least another half hour before he even thought about ordering the Jack and Coke he was craving.
His eyes landed on Duke and immediately he found himself mirroring the other boys smirk. At first glance Duke was the kind of surly bastard that could pass as Noah's exact opposite, but in all truth Noah already found the boy to be nothing short of endearing and something like home and his best friend.
"The man poses a damn good question Kenneth."
[this is shit. -_-;]
