Kiri had found Kennedy and given him a note to give to Angela. The note discribed her situation, her plee, and where to meet her at what time. The young fae was pacing in front of what she thought a very sexy clothing store. It had the lastest styles and some rather short skirts in the window display. She'd searched and found it earlier that week.
She checked the time for the millionth time in the past three minutes. Kiri had never shopped for stuff like this before. Never talked to Angela really, and she was nervous about Rae's credit card. If the older, pretty, ex-Wingrose girl didn't show up soon Kiri was going to bail out. Course according to her watch Angela had plenty of time, Kiri was just chickening out.
"I can't do this. I can't do this!" Again she looked at her cute pink watch that matched her cute pale pink, long sleeved, knee length sweater, and light green leggins outfit. It was a nice outfit she thought, and it also happened to cover a lot of skin. "I can't be sexy!"

"Who can't be sexy?" Angela gasped dramatically, coming up behind the anxious girl. The blonde graduate wore a smile and the latest outerwear from Marciano. Long gold earings matched the colour of the buttons, and although there was snow on the ground, the pure white of her coat was like a glowstick in the dark. Simple skinny FCUK noir jeans played down the classy look, but still kept Angela looking like a runway model.
Angela had sized up Kiri the moment she clapped eyes on the younger girl, and immediately know what needed to be done. Kiri wanted to be 'sexy'. Kennedy had informed her that Raelena had been talking to her before, which made Angela cringe. Which was why she showed up wearing something cute, conservative, and still extremely sexy.
"You must be Kiri. I'm Angela," She offered a smile instead of a hand; it was too cold for her to take her hands out of her pockets, "Kennedy talks about you so much I feel like I already know you!"
It was half true. Kiri did come up during spontaneous conversations with Kennedy, but they never lingered long on one topic for too long. Kennedy had described the girl before Angela headed out to meet her, and Angela had a general idea of how she'd show Kiri to be stylish and still turn heads. Angela certainly had no trouble with it, already the two blonde girls had an audience of two boys across the street who'd followed Angela with their eyes on her approach.
Looking up at the store window, Angela cringed again. Yes, this was 'Raelena's' sexy. It was true that Raelena could pull it off. She was a rockstar.
And I'm sorry Kiri, but you aren't. And until you are prancing around on stage where you need to flaunt your goodies, I'm going to make sure you don't wear something you'll regret.
"Cute outfit," Angela added, smiling winningly. Of course Kiri didn't want to be 'cute', but Angela thought that a simple compliment on a shared strength couldn't hurt.

Kiri jumped and turned at the same time to find who was talking to her. Her jaw dropped at the girl walking up to her. She was gorgeous! This was Kennedy's girl friend? Or was she just some girl deciding to talk to her as she worried. No that was how Kennedy had described Angela to her. How could she possibly learn anything from someone who looked like a super model? People were born with that kind of beauty, and elegance. Kiri certainly had not been born like that.
"H-hi! I'm Kiri, Kiri HoneWater." She bit her lip because the girl had just stated who she was with her needing to intruduce herself. Her eyes brightened though considerably at the girl's next statement. "He does? I mean, I'm certain he doesn't talk about me more than he talks about you. He told me you were beautiful but he didn't tell me that you were drop dead gorgeous!"
"I mean I see girls like you in magazines!" With Angela's attire, looks, and attitude Kiri felt horridly inadequate. Why did Locke pick her if girls like this were walking around? Kiri hugged her poofy coat close over her pink sweater wanting to disappear. This was a stupid idea. She'd never look like that, or look like the sexy Rae described. She was stuck at-
"Oh, thanks." Cute.

Angela smiled. What this girl needed was a dose of self-confidence.
"Kennedy tells me you have a special someone you want to impress?"
Angela might not be the most clever girl, but she knew exactly what she was going to do. Kiri was going to get more than she bargained for today. She was going to leave Kiri feeling better about herself, and feeling beautiful.
"Alright. So this is the shop you want to check first?" Angela asked, motioning casually to the storefront display mannequinns which were wearing too much lace and leather.

Kiri nodded to the model beauty before her. Her eyes traveled to the store then to Angela. It was like looking at two different worlds. One was elegant, and lovely. The other scared her somewhat, but that's what Rae had told her to wear.
"Yeah, I want to be...not cute." She bit her lip glancing at Angela knowing that the girl had just called the outfit cute. "I just feel like as a girl friend I shouldn't be cute. I should be sexy, or beautiful."
The young fae girl smiled brightly at the older, more beautiful girl. "I'll never be like you but I at least make it half way. right?"
She giggled and held out a chilled hand for Angela's. "Well, want to start shopping now?"

"I completely understand," Angela nodded sagely at Kiri's logic, "Especially when you're at that stage with your boyfriend, you just want to find the sexiest lingerie... lace and ribbon... leather, if he's into that sort of thing," she beamed at her.
"Oh, trust me Kiri. You are way more than halfway. I'll bet you're the prettiest girl in your house, am I right?" Angela teased, that bright smile in place. She took Kiri's outstretched hand, thinking the gesture positively adorable. She really didn't want Kiri to lose that cute factor.
"Let's go!" She chimed, opening the door and holding it open so Kiri could walk through. Angela guided the younger girl through with their connected hands and withheld a laugh as she saw the rest of the store. Nothing in here screamed Kiri. Perhaps 'Bondage' and 'Raelena', but not Kiri. Angela wouldn't even consider shopping here for herself.
Still 'under the assumption' that Kiri was sleeping with her boyfriend, Angela walked to the nearest rack, and pulled out a garment that looked more like a torture device seen in medeival times because of the leather and chains and lack of coverage. She giggled.
"I'll see if they have this one in your size," she joked.

Kiri paled then flashed scarlet so quickly it made her head spin. What was Angela saying? Suggesting? Wait, was-did she think? Eyes wide she opened her mouth to protest not even knowing what that "L" word meant. But into the store they went. The young fae even missed the complement of being more than half way.
Through the store she paled and blushed, paled and blushed over and over. Everything seemed to scare her or make her think things she'd never thought before in her life. Things that made her queasy, light headed, and want to run away and hide with her stuffed toys.
"I'm not ready for this! I've never done anything that requires me to-to I'm not doing stuff like this!" She screamed tears now streaming down her face. "I'm never going to be sexy! EVER!"
Covering her face she ran out of the store in horror, embarrassment, and shame. She'd asked Angela for help and here she was running away. This was too much too fast. Locke was never going to think her sexy because if that store meant sexy then she was going to be stuck in cute for the rest of her life.

Angela couldn't bite back the smile completely at the initial look of horror on Kiri's face. The various shades the younger blonde turned were absolutely fascinating... until she ran out crying. Oh dear.
Angela hurried out after the girl, tossing the random article of would-be clothing back on the rack.
"Kiri!" She exclaimed, coming up next to the girl and wrapping an arm around her. "Listen to me. There are very different stages of sexy. What you saw in there just wasn't the right level for you! Ohh sweetie, I just wanted to show you that the 'sexy' you were thinking about isn't the right 'sexy' for you."
Retrieving a Kleenex from her purse, Angela offered it to the worried girl.
"I'm going to show you the good 'sexy'. It's going to cover enough skin to make you comfortable, and still make boys jealous of this boy you're seeing. Mmkay?" She added, rubbing Kiri's back to help calm her down. Angela remembered being Kiri's age. She wore old-fashioned dresses worn by her mother. Until she got into modeling, she never knew to wear anything else. Soon the vintage dresses were stored away and Angela was wearing designer labels. Gucci and Abercrombie were more than happy to see her stroll around in public wearing their names across her chest or butt.
"Are you ready to find 'Kiri sexy'?"

She took the offered tissue and wiped away her tears still sniffling. The store still frightened her but she was also convinced that within that store held the answers. That in that store she wouldn't have to be cute.
"I don't know what to do. I am acting like a four year old." Kiri bowed her head facing away from the store that would change her into a completely different person. But did Locke want her to be a different person?
"I don't want boys to be jealous..." Walking now away from the hideous store she stopped after only a few steps. "I want him to feel special to have me. I want him to feel like..." She felt sick this was so frustrating. Why did she ever listen to that rock star! "I want to feel...like I deserve him."
Angela was such a sweet, kind, understanding person to help her like this. She was so glad Kennedy found someone like this. He deserved someone so kind.
"Thank you for helping me. Can-Can we be friends?" Her smile was back but only slightly.

Angela restrained herself from 'awwww'ing. Kiri was just so adorable. She shook her head and tapped Kiri under the chin.
"You, my dear, are something that boys will want to steal away from the harsh realities of this world. They will want to give you a fairytale ending where you live happily ever after. You deserve nothing but the best, and if you think this boy is the 'best', then you're meant to be with him."
Angela took Kiri's hand in hers, the first lesson done. Now she had to move on to the second.
"However, let me tell you something else. Boys don't like girls who think badly of themselves. You need to look at yourself and like what you see. Come here," she instructed, pulling Kiri toward the front window of the store. She stood with her and pointed to her reflection, "see? I need you to look at that gorgeous girl right there and tell her that she's beautiful. Tell her she doesn't need those clothes inside to feel good about herself! Go on," Angela urged, squeezing Kiri's hand to support her.

She blinked away what was left of the tears thinking on what Angela had said. Locke was the best, and he was what she wanted. No one else would do she learned that by dating enough boys.
"But I don't need a fairy tale ending. I just want someone to hold my hand, smile with me, and fight off the shadows that might come." As she was guided to the window her eyes far off to some place else. Then at the arm squeeze she focused on the reflection that was so familiar. A face she'd seen every day. But it was different somehow. The eyes weren't blank masks of false happiness. There was fulfillment, the completion she felt ever since Locke came into her life shone through those eyes.
"He-he thinks I'm pretty. I like myself...but..." What Rae had said, the critique of her clothes. It was time for her to grow up, to meet the level of maturity that Locke displayed. "I want to change. For him. I want to be...I don't want to be a child anymore."

Angela's heart melted. This was easier to understand.
"Okay," She said softly, smiling at Kiri's reflection, "today Kiri grows up."
And with that, Angela took Kiri's hand in hers and guided her down the street toward a much more appropriate shop. It was a store Angela frequented and a store she knew Kiri would take to instantly. The clothes were pretty and stylish, and most importantly to the younger girl, they were mature.
[/end scene? Make the clothes a surprise?]
