Raelena St. John hadn't been on a second date in years.
The famous rockstar was well known for her seductive habits, for luring beautiful women into her bed. She was not well known for dating them and taking them places. Or if she did, it was to impress somebody, or to, well, get them into bed.
Yet here she was, with an attractive, if slightly abrasive, woman, taking her on a date. Because, wonder of wonders, Rae actually liked the girl. And she had to admit, the whole "no sex" angle was intriguing and appealing.
Though very, very frustrating.
Rae had opted to wear a simple white blouse, black tie, and slacks. It would look mannish on anyone besides Rae. But the famous blonde pulled it off. She currently had her black-painted nails laced through Eve's hand, and was leading the other girl through St. Louis.
"Ye have ta cut me a wee bit o' slack wit' this one. Ye didnae give me a whole lot ta work wit'," explained the rocker as she walked. She dutifully ignored most of the looks, though people were semi-willing to accept two girls walking hand-in-hand. "I figured this would be oop ye alley, an' is kinda fun fir me ta."
You could just see an arena up ahead, and Rae confidently headed for it, hopefully dragging Eve along with.

Eve was not really that happy and she hated the stares they were getting. In actually she was brooding. She worn not the best fitting jeans, a lose fitting T-shirt, and her most comfortable pair of sneakers. No dressing up for this date, but she did brush her hair.
Hand in uncomfortable hand the two girls walked down the sidewalk. Eve glared at people and grit her teeth to keep from snarling at them to stop staring. Some people backed away when she looked at them their eyes going wide in fear. She wasn't used to the city having never been in a place bigger than her village. Too many people, too much noise, and the smells burned her nose.
"Where are we going?" The war dragon snapped wanting to yank her hand away. After that night of snuggling she been horrified at what she'd said and done. Or all that she could remember that is. Now here she was again with the same girl, but this time she was not going anywhere near booze.

If Rae noticed Eve's discomfort, she didn't let it show at all. Just kept on strolling down the street. She die loosen her grip on Eve's hand, allowing the other girl an "out" if she wanted it.
"Wanted it ta be a surprise," said Rae, "but ye probly wouldnae like tha'. Ye remember how ye said ye liked fightin'?"
Rae nodded ahead of them. You could just see a large arena in the distance. And several people milling about.
"There's a fight goin' on at th' arena. Some martial arts thin'. I disnae really ken wha' exactly it is. But we can watch ta people beat th' s**t oot o' eat other," Rae grinned, turning to Eve. "Got ta be better than a movie."
It was hardly a romantic choice for a second date. But Rae had actually thought it out, and was trying to take Eve somewhere she'd like. Besides, maybe if she got Eve riled up...

Eve felt the grip losen and though she felt bad for doing it she slipped her hand free. With her now free hand she rubbed her neck trying to look like she'd had an itch and that's why she pulled away. Then she shoved both hands into her pockets glaring at more people.
"Yes, I like fighting. Point? What you taking me so I can beat you up without ruining your club?" She lifted her eyes to where Rae nodded and she almost smiled. It certainly was better than some movie. It might not be as thrilling or bloody as a dragon spar but it had to be a little fun.
"I didn't think you liked this kind of stuff." Eve eyed Rae wearily but secretly Rae had gotten points for doing this. She might even get a kiss later. If she kept behaving that is.
The place looked busy and she traveled a bit closer to Rae. People didn't scare her at all, but she didn't feel like losing Rae in the crowd. If need be she'd threaten her way through the crowd, dragons were good at that. She also picked up her pace from the excitement of being able to go watch a fight.

Getting beat up again didn't really strike Rae as being a good date. Of course, she was aware of Eve's little "beat me before sex" rule. Which meant that at some point Rae would have to try. Assuming she didn't break Eve down first. Which is what she was trying.
Rae let Eve withdraw her hand, figuring she wanted to work up to it. She did pull her close as the people came in, making sure she was close by. The last thing Rae wanted was Eve loose to cause mischief among the crowds. That was a good way to get people hurt.
"Watchin' fights?" Rae shrugged. "It's alrigh'. Isnae at tha' top o' me list o' thin's ta do. But we drank an' made oot last time, an' those are two o' m'favorite thin's. Time ta do wha' ye want."
Rae turned and gave Eve a decidedly flirty wink, before continuing on through the arena. "'sides, I like shootin' at people an' crowds. Should have both."
They were at the entrance now, caught in the crowd. Rae paused, not because she couldn't go forward. After all, she was a celebrity. And she knew full well that both she and Eve could just intimidate people into getting out of their way, if it came to that. Hmm, might as well go for attention.
She stuck her arm up. "Oi, Raelena St. John here! Let me through!"
This worked somewhat and the crowd parted. Several eyes went to Rae though, and several also studied Eve. Fortunately most figured them to be friends.

The more people crowded in around them the more agressive and agitated Eve felt. She pushed her elbows closer to her body and she basically emitted waves of 'stay the f*ck off me' vibes. It worked pretty good too for people the second they met her eyes found a reason to move away from the girl. Eve marked cities at the top of her least favorite places.
"Did you pick the most popular arena or something?" She growled as she got pulled closer. A man bumped into her and she growled out something in a foreign tongue, and he moved away from her so fast he almost tripped. It was like a wolf stuck in a herd of sheep. If things didn't get better soon the people wouldn't have to wait to get inside to see a fight.
"Rae! What are you doing?" Eve hissed as eyes instantly turned toward them. Her hands were out of her pockets and her body language shifted to defensive. They made their way through a bit easier but the eyes...the war dragon glared at anyone who met her eyes. Her hands were in fists and she could feel her skin toughening up.

"Formin' a path," Rae replied. She reached behind her, grabbed Eve, and started through. People smiled and she smiled back, waving her free hand. After all, it wasn't everyday you got to see a rockstar. Camera phones were flipped out, and a few flashed.
"Look, jus' ignore 'em. Ye gotta roll wit' it," explained Rae. "Wha' they ken o' ye tain't ye. Jus' wha' they ken. So disnae worry aboot 'em. An' relax. Only person who's bloody opinion should matter ta ye is mine. An' as I keep tellin' ye, I like ye."
Now she yanked Eve up to her side, and gave her a wink. She refrained from giving the other girl a cheek kiss or anything. For now. Rae probably couldn't hold off forever, especially not with someone she liked as much as Eve. But she could at least last till they got into the building.
As they approached, a friendly looking man in a wild t-shirt greeted them. He held out a hand, and Rae slapped two tickets into it. A couple of tears later, and they were heading in.
"Relax, Eve," insisted Rae. She studied her date a little while. "Ye goin' ta show if'n ye disnae relax. Tain't nothin' ta be bothered by, jus' a few stares."

She wanted to break people's phones and break their hands while she was at it. Violence, all she felt was violence. Probably had something to do with the pent up emotions she was dealing with in dealing with Rae. Eve was so confused about what she should and shouldn't be feeling she couldn't even train that morning.
Her whole like she'd been taught to not get close to females in a romantic way. Or at least if you do keep a man on the side. Reproducing was a big thing in her family, obviously. If he mother knew what Eve was doing she would probably get a claw to the side of her head. She just wouldn't tell her mother or give any reason for her mother to visit.
"You're used to this kind of stuff, Rae. I'm not give me some slack. I wasn't born to be a rock star." It was like her nerves were constanting firing telling her to fight her way out of this. To punch someone before she got trampled. "I know your opinion is what matters, doesn't change the fact that I don't like people staring at me."
Eve just rolled her eyes at the wink but didn't pull away. This was a date after all and she shouldn't make it a living hell for her p-part-partn- for Rae. She tried harder not to appear so hostle, and started a calming mantra in her mind to keep from showing. Rae had a point but she just was uncomfortable with this many people whom she didn't know gawk at her.
"I'm trying but it's not working all that well. Just get us to the seats, and I think I'll be okay." She felt pathetic but it wasn't that she was scared she was just ticked. These people had no right to stare at her so much. So she happened to be pressed close to the famous Raelena St. John, so she didn't look the part to be with the rocker. Big whoop, didn't mean she didn't actually fit. In her mind she didn't but those strangers didn't have the right to stare at her in such a judging way. Another part of her didn't like how some people were looking at her date. One such female, which bothered her even more, was practically drooling over the lycan. Eve glared at the girl and the girl flipped her off.
"You little b*tch." She snarled but Rae was still moving ahead so she couldn't properly show the girl how much she shouldn't have done that. Instead she sent her a wave of dragon's fear, which for those who don't know what it was just randomly felt terrified. The girl looked like she was about to wet herself. Eve smiled satisfied continuing on by Rae's side.

Clearly Eve did not appreciate the staring. But Rae was beginning to understand what her partner was feeling. This wasn't fear or anxiety. Eve was p**sed. Which Rae hadn't really anticipated. Certainly encouraged her to hurry them toward their seats. Once Eve focused on the fights, things would improve.
"I am cuttin' ye some slack," growled Rae. She could only be so nice, after all. "Sorry, but this happens a lot. I'll wear a f**kin' mask next time an' a fugly hat."
the harshness faded as Rae followed Eve's eyes. Wait, the dragoness was... glaring at another female. Had Rae turned Eve into. No, that didn't make any sense. So what was?
Snarl and curse.
Wow, Eve was. Rae looked back at Eve now, admiration in her green eyes. Eve was jealous. She didn't like it that other people were looking at Rae, because they were eying her. Which meant that, that the dragoness had claimed Rae, slightly. At least enough to get possessive.
Rae couldn't help herself, she grabbed Eve and darted into a little corner behind a pillar, giving the dragoness a hard kiss. When she let go, she smiled eyes sparkling.
"Tha's fir gettin' jealous," she informed her. "Now, let's get ta' our seat, alrigh'?"
With that, she started for entrance to the main arena, trusting Eve to follow behind.

"The fugly hat better be huge and remind me of someone's grandmother." She snapped back inches away from calling this whole thing off. It wasn't like she wanted to be there. It wasn't like this was pleasant for her. Rae was the one who'd said she wouldn't take no for an answer. Eve just hadn't wanted Rae to show up at school.
After the small encounter with the girl people had noticed. People had seen how violent Eve really was and were starting to stay clear of her. Some were still confident enough to stare but Eve solved that with a nasty glare.
They were going along and she was sure they had to be getting close to their seats when all of a sudden she was being dragged.
"What the hell?" She barked out suddenly up against a corner with Rae's lips against hers. "Dammit Rae what was that about?"
"Jealous? I'm not jealous." Eve moved her hands to knock Rae away that last comment cutting, and she realized in fear to close to home. She was jealous. That meant. Cursing violently, and often she followed Rae to their seats. The cursing and early actions had the people parting not only for the famous St. John but for the crazy lady following her as well.

"Fine, ye nae jealous," agreed Rae. She still grinned widely, the cat who swallowed the canary. "Ye jus' disnae like it when other girls look at me."
Which was about as close to the definition of jealous as you could get. Not that Rae was going to say that. No, just knowing it and holding to the fact was enough for her. No need to rub it in Eve's face or anything.
But boy, was Rae excited by that.
Their seats happened to be front row seats, of course. Dangerously close to the ring, really. Only hardcore fans generally got that close, just in case the fighters decided to get antsy. Rae plopped down in one chair, her eyes going to the currently empty ring.
"Probly get blood on us from 'ere," joked Rae. She shifted in her seat, still smiling. Partly looking forward to the fight, or at least Eve's reaction to it. Partly still reveling in the whole "jealouseve" thing. Heh, jealouseve.
"Now remember, these are jus' normal humans. Ye an' I could probly kick both their arses. Still, ought ta be fun ta watch," Rae laced her hands behind her head, leaning back.

She ignored Rae's lovely comments about her not being jealous. Did every date with her have to start in awkward misery? Seeing that Rae had found the seats she moved around people to get to her. At least there wouldn't be people standing in front of them. She hated trying to watch something around other people's bodies.
"You think?" Not speaking in sarcasm she actually brightened at the idea. At least once the fight started there wouldn't be a need to fill in empty silence with talking. For one it would be far too loud with everyone cheering, and two Eve would be too wrapped up in the fight to care what anyone else was saying.
She nodded to Rae her neck stretching in search of the fighters to come on stage. This was her first human fight, and she was more than a little excited. Sure it wasn't going to be as amazing like Rae said, but it was still a fight.
"Do you think they might fall out to the audience?" Eve turned eagerly to Rae actually smiling for the first time since the date started. Now that she wasn't moving through a mass of cattle, or getting mauled by kisses she could relax. This was more her element that people, or relationships.

Well, at least Rae knew how to get Eve excited. Rae had to admit, it was fun to see Eve light up like that, and definitely worth throwing her weight around to get the tickets. She watched the two fighters climb into the ring, measuring both of them.
"Mebbe," mused Rae. The fighters certainly looked capable of doing that to each other. "Take a bit o' a hit."
But she'd seen something like that happen before. At one of the few fights she'd bothered to come to before this one. Something told her she was going to be a regular, and if that were true, she was buying a box. Or a section. Something.
The two fighters were now being announced and promoted by a rather outspoken individual. Rae scooted forward, paying attention. She knew the real fun would begin in a few moments, when they started actually hitting each other. Still, this could be useful stuff to know.

Eve wasn't standing she was up on her feet roaring with the crowd. The two fighters had started their battle and even though it wasn't fangs, claws, and blood it was still a fight. She screamed and jeered like the most blood thirsty of the men in the crowd.
"Kill him! Rake his jaw!" Her fist punched the air, her voice full of vigor and lust of battle, but she was smiling like the kid who'd found all the Easter eggs.
"Come on this is pathetic! Pulverize him already." Who was she rooting for? Both of them, neither of them, whoever won. That's how thins were done. Right? Whoever appeared to be winning at the time was the one rooted for. Then if the balances changed who she was rooting for changed. The one who came out the winner would be the one she would be cheering for.
Her blood singed with the thrill of the fight, and her heart beat out the song of their fists. As a punch brought blood from one of the fighter's mouths she almost roared in joy. Instead she jumped and cheered and cursed with the best of them. This was definitely a date she would remember.

Really, Rae did enjoy watching fights herself. After all, she had invited Eve to one. Yes, it had mostly been because Rae suspected that Eve would thoroughly enjoy something like this, and that looked to be quite accurate. But still, the lycan alpha could get into it almost as well as her date.
So Rae found herself on her feet, yelling along with Eve. Both girls ended up cheering as that blood splattered, which earned them a few odd looks. At least one person recognized Rae, and began nudging. After all, it's not everyday you see a celebrity like her.
Rae cheered again, then leaned over, excitedly commenting in Eve's ear, "Th' black one's a wee bit stronger, but I ken th' wee lad's got a bit more spring in 'is step. Tis a good match, aye?"
Indeed it was. The large man, a Haitian, hit hard, and connections generally resulted in blood. His opponent, a smaller man of mixed Hispanic and Caucasian blood, could weave and bob with the best of them, and rained jabs onto his larger opponent.
What it would come down to is luck, really. If the Haitian could connect with the little guy's head or some other vital part, then the little guy was out. Otherwise, it would probably be the little guy's fight.
"We could so kick their arses," Rae called into Eve's ear, winking. Shame they couldn't though, that would be more fun to watch.
