Corey stands at a mere five feet, two inches. She doesn't keep track of her weight that much, but it is never less than ninety five pounds, and never over one hundred. Her figure would surprise you, because she is actually fairly muscular. She has a six pack that comes and goes, and her legs are often compared to tree trunks. Since she spends the majority of the time training inside, she is also extremely pale. It is not enough to look sickly, but she could pass for a vampire in the right lighting. Corey's hair falls just above her chest. It is a dull shade of brown, and falls in choppy layers. She also has blunt, shaggy bangs that fall into her hazel eyes. One of her most distinguishing features is that her body is frequently adorned with various bruises and scars. Due to Corey's life on the run, she owns very few pieces of clothing. She usually either wears a pair of black, spandex shorts, or black cargo pants. On top she always wears some variation of a tank top. The only shoes she owns are a beaten-in pair of gladiator sandals.[/b]☆Personality☆Corey was picked on as a child, making her very shy and withdrawn. She enrolled in taekwondo when she began high school, and it wasn't long before she came out of her shell. There are many layers to Corey, and your opinion of her is determined by which layer she presents to you. If you are one of her students, you would see her as energetic. She's a bit hard to follow in class, partly because she resembles the energizer bunny, and partly because she talks ridiculously fast. If you outrank her, then you would see that she is cocky, and borderline masochistic with her workout routine. You would also find that she is very respectful to her authority figures, to the point where she looks like a kiss-up. Corey's few friends find her to be exceptionally confident with herself, and a tad bit quirky with her martial arts obsession. She tends to talk about it a bit too much, as if that is all she has to do in her spare time. However, Kalora knows the real her. He has seen inside of her heart, and seen the scared little girl he changed not too long ago. He has also seen the monster inside of her. None of her victims had enough time to really see the monster before them. One thing that everyone can agree on is that she is stubborn. If something is trying to hold Corey back, whether it is an injury or a personal issue, she will deny it entirely. She once fractured the instep of her foot during a sparring match, the week before a big demonstration. She hid it for the entire week, killing herself in class, just so she could participate. She ended up hurting herself worse, but did she learn her lesson? No, of course not.☆History☆Corinthia is 19 years old. Since the age of ten she has been training at the local Taekwondo Dojyang. She is an instructor and a natural fighter. She is also a vampire. Not long after her 18th birthday, on the way home from a taekwondo class, Corinthia was attacked by a dark stranger, and her life changed forever. He did not attack her for food, nor for sport. She was part of a plan. His name was Kalora, and he was completely and utterly dangerous. He was an ancient vampire, having existed for the last one thousand years. His extreme hatred of humans caused him to strive to create an army of vampires, which he planned to use to capture the human race. He had staked her out for months. Watching her every move. He watched her in taekwondo, and saw how she fought. Kalora witnessed her combat prowess, and how even for somebody so small, she packed a powerful punch…literally. She was perfect.
After he changed her, he trained her to be second in command of his army. In order to gain control over her, he taught her that she could only survive off of blood. Even though that was a complete lie. He turned her into a monster. She believed him when he told her that she had to kill mercilessly. After six months of this, she finally saw the darkness in his ways. He asked her to kill her old boyfriend, whom she loved very much before her transformation. She almost did it. Her hands were on the side of his face, prepared to snap his neck…but she didn’t. In that refusal of Kalora’s orders, she found the strength to exist on her own.
Since then she has been floating around. Corey cannot settle down, because whenever she does, Kalora shows up. She is not sure if she has the strength to refuse him again. If she doesn’t, then she would lose every last ounce of her humanity.☆Family☆Corey has always lived a well-off lifestyle. Her father is a sales director of a publishing company in New York City. His long work hours have caused them to develop a poor relationship. The only time they really get along is when he is bragging about her latest taekwondo achievement to his buddies. Corey's mom was also well established in the business community, until she decided to resign to become a homemaker. She had OCD, causing Corey's household to be practically sterile. Her mother is also controlling, and feels that she knows what's best for Cory at all times, and that does not include taekwondo.
However, all of this became irrelevant when she was attacked. Once Kalora took her into his army, she was forbidden to have any ties to her old life. He helped her to fake her death. They created a faux car crash, something that nobody could survive, unless you were a vampire. Corey had to play dead throughout the funeral, until her body was to be cremated. Her parents had left before the furnace operator was ready to commit the deed, so once the room was clear, she attacked him. Her first kill.
Even though she is free from Kalora, she still feels it is less complicated to avoid the entanglement of her old life with her new one.☆Behind the Character☆Name: Courtney Mifsud
