The sexy librarian look was in. In for Rae, at any rate. Though, come to think of it, she was pretty sure that if you slapped the word "sexy" in front of it, she could probably pull it off. Came with the whole "I'm a werewolf alpha, I kick ass, I'm an upfront lesbian rockstar" thing. actually, Rae could probably walk around in the borrowed clothes of an eighty year old woman and still get some looks.
Now though, now she was going for sexy librarian: pencil skirt, dark gray, extended to the knee; white blouse, slightly untucked, ruffled, lace; black, wire-frame glasses, perfectly perched; blonde hair jerked back into a tight bun, the streaks carefully hidden; black stockings; plain black shoes. Yep, obviously a librarian, assuming said librarian was less interested in shelving books than gathering attention.
Rae stopped in her walking, looking at each and every building of the school. Penumbra University. They hadn't had a university when she'd been attending, just the Academy. Technically Rae hadn't even managed to graduate from that. There had been this whole big, evil, uprising business that nobody probably remembered any more. Rae just liked to think that she'd done the smart thing and gotten out of the hellhole while she still could. And good riddance too.
Yet Eve had wanted to come back. Hell, Rae had wanted to on some level, but she was kidding herself if she thought she was standing here for herself. No, this was definitely for the dragon in her life. Which explained why Rae was there, now, standing in the quirky outfit and eyeballing buildings. Basically, she was in disguise, incognito. The idea was simple: get in, figure out what the hell the school was up to, and get out. Maybe flirt enough with a girl to make her nervous or accidentally bump into an old friend.
"Ah'm puttin' enough money inta th' bleedin' place ye'd ken they could let me do wha'e'er th' hell ah want," said Rae through mostly clenched teeth. Her fists clenched and released as well, the motion jarring her bracelets slightly. What they'd pulled on Eve was just bullshit, and they should know it. Maybe that was what Rae could do...

Aaran was still rather annoyed with his... "mother". Aponi had been gone for what must have been three weeks now. Aaran was still mad, indeed, but he was really getting worried. If she was never coming back, who would look after him? And where would she get her life-force? He was probably doing the wrong thing, worrying about her, when he himself was the one that needed looking out for.
But he had Ithi. His cheeks flushed a light pink when he thought about the demon. He had started to have serious thoughts about changing his... condition to suit the demon's more... physical needs. Maybe he should just become a Sophie, before anyone got a chance to find out. Djin couldn't be that hard to find around here, could they? it was after all a magical... university.
In the middle of his musings, he had wandered into the university, his subconscious mind being drawn to the one he loved. He almost cringed. That was just silly. But Aaran didn't really have much of a purpose anymore. Just to be with Ithi, and find Aponi. He never attended lessons. Apart from the lesson with Mr. Shears, but that was a little... odd.
He cranked the music on his iphone up. Recently, he'd stopped listening to the classical/rock songs of the strange 90s Japanese musicians no-one seemed to have heard of, and instead he was listening to heavyer, rock songs. he found it all to easy to get lost in the music.
So lost that he tended to bump into people - such as a Raelena St. John look-alike librarian. In all fairness, he didn't bump into her. He simply tried to walk through her, and ended up tripping, and falling face-first on the ground. He also scraped his knee.
"Ow! I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry!" he called out, as he cradled his grazed appendage. Damn it. That stung. Tears welled at his eyes, and slid shamefully down his bright red cheeks, wincing as they splashed down onto his graze. He concentrated hard, and it vanished, however, he hadn't realized that his nose was broken, so he accidentally knocked it as he reached to dry his tears.
"OWIE!" he cried once again, putting it right, and fixing it, before looking up at the woman with huge eyes. "Sorry Miss." He whimpered. "My name is Sophie, if you want to call me names., put that in there." He said, frowning. Jesus, he was so damned clumsy.

"Ah, bloody hell, wha' th'--" Rae began before she could even think about it, her Scottish brogue as heavy as ever. She'd already turned to get a look at the young man who'd nearly run her over. However, as she saw that the young woman? looked incredibly torn up about it, and she herself happened to be ready for an intricate dance number, the cursing died upon her lips. It also reminded her that she was supposed to be in disguise, and a thick Scottish brogue wasn't very "disguise-y."
"That's quite alright, dear chap," the rock start continued in a fairly remarkable British accent. To be completely accurate, it sounded more Indian-British than regular British, but you'd have to actually be one or the other to pick up on the slight irregularities. Rae extended a hand for the young woman.
"I have to admit, that when girls fall for me, they generally do it in a less obvious fashion," the rock star continued. Talking like this was hard, and all she wanted to do was wrap her tongue around words and slide them out. How did the damn Brits manage it? You had to think about every single thing that passed out of your mouth. Rae didn't care for thinking at all. Maybe she could just lighten up the brogue a bit. Or maybe she'd encountered someone who actually hadn't heard of Raelena St. John. Stranger things had happened.
Rae studied the young woman for several long seconds, noting the curvature of her face and basic bone structure. Being an uneducated rock star, she had no idea that she was actually studying that. To Rae, this was "checking someone out." Plus, she had experience in outting trannies, since desperate guys had been pulling that one on her since she'd won that contest.
Time to ignore it and plug onward: "Ye might wan' tae watch where ye're goin' next time, lassie."
So much for hiding the brogue. that lasted all of thirty seconds.

Aaran whimpered again. He got up and clasped his hand together and bowed, as he had been taught to by Martha, one of the ladies in India. He smiled at the woman, who's voice slipped in and out of a Scottish brogue. He found this immensely amusing, and he started tittering girlishly, despite several tears still dripping from his chin.
"Well, I'm sorry I didn't do it in the right way for you." Aaran said, in a weak attempt in making decent conversation, but his throat clenched up. This woman was very pretty. Very pretty. "But, I'm just a little clumsy." He said. He tended to meet many Brits on his travels, whether they be of Irish descent, like Dorian (Aaran had been doing a little... research... as it were) or even Scottish, or British like this person. Aaran decided that, because of the sudden and strange switchover, that this person must have been from Caledonia, and no-one was quite Scottish, or quite English, so he had heard. He didn't live far from there, in fact, his tiny costal home-village had been in the north, something that he seemed to find funny. Oftertimes, he would sing;
My name is Mr Wmffre, and I beat me wife and kids, My name is Mr Wmffre, and i want me chippy chips much to the bemusement of Ithica or Aponi.
"I'm really sorry Miss, he said, in his chiming voice." He sighed. "I was just on my way to find my boyfriend." He finished. This person's use of the word "chap" made him uneasy, but she had called him lassie. But if he said that, then maybe she'd be convinced of his apparent gender. Which, she might have been anyway, but Aaran could never be too careful.

"Looks like you are a... oh bloody hell, forget th' bleedin'," Rae shook her head, before grinning a gain. "Nothin' wrong wit' bein' a little clumsy there, lass. Ye jus' got ta make sure ye fall at th' righ' times as well as th' wrong, aye?"
A roguish wink and Rae came alongside. she wasn't sure who or what this person actually was, nor was she entirely convinced that said who or what actually happened to be entirely as advertised, but Rae had never been one to be judgmental. She'd had her share of that, thankyouverymuch, and she wasn't about to drag someone else down by acting the same way. instead it was all smiles and a reassuring pat.
"So, ye've a lad waitin' on ye?" repeated Rae. "Damn bit disappointin', tha'. 'course me own lass is--" Rae paused. Probably not a good idea to let the person she'd just met know that her girlfriend happened to be attending this university. "Aboot. What say ye an' ah head o'er an' ye can introduce me tae your lad?"
Sounded like a plan to Rae. Give her something to do for the next few minutes at the very least. Besides, there was something about this poor little girl, boy, thing that made Rae want to start protecting. Maybe the little creature was a were? no, Rae would have noticed that.
"Name's Ra-Rachel, Rachel," Rae let her eyes wander for a few seconds, "Stone. Rachel Stone. Nice tae meet ye...?"

Aaran smiled at her re-assuring comments. She was being a lot kinder than most of the other people he fell over. Apart from Ithi, of course. He'd fallen over Ithi once, and Ithi had just laughed and made some joke about Aaran falling for him. The little half-fae sighed wistfully. Maybe they mcould find Ithi, and this girl could be their new friend!
"Yes, you're right." He giggled as she winked. "But at least I know that, no matter how much falling I do, I'll alwas be allright in the end!" He bubbled, not so sure of that statement any more. Not that this stranger needed to know, but Aaran was starting to lose his bio-crystalization powers, and he had no idea why. Rather, not lose them, but lose control. The bio-crystalized parts of his body were also becoming a lot harder, seemingly, but not even Ithi or Aponi knew that. Not that Aponi knew much about how his life was and she probably didn't really care.
"Yeah, Ithi's in the university, I think. Or he might be off doing something crazy somewhere else!" Aaran shook exitedly for a moment, before bending down to pick his ipod up. He blushed when she said that it was dissapointing. He didn't know anyone that liked girls and that was a girl. Was he supposed to act any different? Like he acted around men? Or women? This was all so confusing for him. How could he ever act around a girl that liked girls, when he was a boy that liked boys who was dressed as a girl? He winced at such a weird thought and just tried to push it to the back of his mind.
"But, he's nice. I think he'll like you." Said Aaran, beaming at the woman. He seemed to reckognise ehr from somewhere, but he wasn't quite sure. Maybe she was a student or something. That was most likely. But Aaran could only wonder what nature of person was hidden behind those flawless features. What sort of deep power lay inside. He surpressed a shudder.
"I'm Sophie. Sophie Wilde." He said, a warm smile on his face. "It's nice to meet you, Rachel." He looked towards the university. Suddenly, he felt himself bio-crystalize. He couldn't move. He could feel the cells on his skin hardening up, and for some reason he was unable to move. He panicked, but the feeling passed as he regained posession of his limbs.
"Damn it." He swore. He was still all crystalized, and he concentrated really hard, and it stopped. "You have any gifts? I hate to say it, but sometimes they seem more of a curse." He frowned.

Hard not to grin as the girl finally gave in and started giggling. Such a cute little thing! And here Rae was, already tied and the girl already having a boyfriend. Oh well, some things were left to the past, no need to go dragging them around now. Wouldn't accomplish anything anyway.
"Sounds like one o' th' types be goin' 'ere," agreed Rae. She looked around the university, almost speculatively now. Would Eve turn into someone like that? Surely the education wouldn't be something that separated the two of them. Except that it already had, to some extent. Again: not something that Rae wanted to be thinking about right now.
For a moment, Rae didn't recognize that Sophie had responded to her greeting, mostly because she'd already forgotten that she'd given out a fake name. As it sunk in, however, the rock star nodded, focused enough to greet, and saw the gift take hold. Years of living around and befriending (among other things) people with gifts had given the lycan long patience with them. in fact, her hand immediately went to steady Sophie, just in case she lost balance or the Gift did anything heinous. Wasn't like Rae wouldn't recover from whatever happened.
"Nae, nae gifts," replied the rock star. She gave Sophie's shoulder a reassuring squeeze. "Jus' turn inta a big, bad wolf e'ery so often. Least ah'm th' big bad kind, eh? Hate to be a wee little one."
Another squeeze, and Rae looked at him. "ye oop fir walkin', lassie? or do ah need ta be carryin' ye? Be an odd picture, but wouldnae be the first time..."
Funny, the more Rae looked at Sophie, the more problems she saw there. Something wasn't quite right, and it wasn't the gifts...

Aaran looked at Rachael with wide eyes. Big bad wolf? She was... a werewolf!? Aaran wasn't sure whether to give her a hi-5 or to runaway. But doing neither seemed to be the best idea, and he simply gazed at her in wonderment. He couldn't help but uteer another twittering laugh, his voice tinkling like chimes. It was indeed better to be a big bad wolf than a little one.
"I like your style, miss." He said. smiling once again. "And, I think I'm ok. It's only bio-crystalization, I think it's developing, so I keep freezing up. But I'll be ok to walk now." He beamed. He was just an awkward teenager, just more awkward, and mystical. Of course, he was also a he, unlike what most people thought. But he was finding that he could convinve more and more people. Maybe he was developing another gift? He doubted it. But, always worth checking out.
Making a mental note of it, he turned back to Rachel.
"It would be an odd spectacle indeed." Aaran laughed, holding about his arm as a gesture that Rachel could take it. "This wouldn't be quite so odd." he reasoned. It didn't really matter if she took it. Aaran was quite exited at the prospect of her meeting Ithi. He'd love her!
"Ithi's so cool! He can bring stuff to life." He grinned, his eyes almost wild with exitement.

{OoC: that's not short; I'll show you short sometime } "So ye get rock hard, tha's got tae be useful," commented Rae. She knew she'd met someone with that particular Gifting, though she couldn't pull a name from the fog of her memory just yet. Might have just been something that Kennedy picked up from somewhere. Wouldn't be the first time. "Ye'll get th' hang o' it eventually. 'sides, be useful in a scrap. better than some o' th' so called Gifts wanderin' aboot. Could ye imagine jus' havin' th' ability tae go through walls? I'd get m'self bit by somethin' straight away if'n I found m'self with that," said Rae. she linked her arm with Sophie and started walking through the campus. The other girl should know more or less where to go, but Rae had a knack for leading even when she should be following. Came in handy for times like this, obviously. "Bring stuff tae life?" repeated Rae. Interested laced her tone, more than concern or fear. Something like that sounded just spectacular enough to warrant investigation. Just think of the possibilities! Admittedly, Rae could only think of one person that she'd really want brought back. But it could still come in handy, assuming Ithi wasn't some kind of mad scientist. If he was, well, that just meant one more ass to kick. "ye sound enamored o' your lad. Wouldnae happen tae be a wonder in the sack on top o' bein' all this amazin', eh?' questioned Rae. she nudged Sophie and grinned wider than ever before. If there was one thing that would always interest Rae, it was sex. Admittedly she didn't like hearing the details that came with messy hetero love, but she liked generalities well enough. Enough to bother some of her more conservative friends, that was for certain.

Aaran almost died when Rachel said that he got rock hard. He knew what she meant, but he still went bright red. Oh dear. This was just silly of him. He could be so childish sometimes, but he sincerely hoped that that was just a part of his charm.
"Yes, actually. it's mighty useful sometimes." He didn't usually say this sorta thing to people he just met, but he felt like continuing; "It saved my life on the first day I discovered it. My dad tried to kill me in a drunken rage." He said, his mouth going dry just thinking about it. He turned back to her and smiled;
"It's allright now, though."
"He can't bring people and stuff. Just inanimate objects." He said, his spirit slightly dampened. If he could bring people to life then maybe... his mother... no. It was impossible, and he didn't want that. Aponi was his mother. And he'd love her no matter how long she dissapeared for.
Aaran felt happy walking alongside Rachel, even if it was a little strange for two "girls" to be linking arms, until she dropped that particular bombshell. Aaran turned bright red, and choked for a second.
"We haven't slept together yet." he croaked. Jesus, how personal. He almost laughed - he liked her style. But the thought of him and Ithi actually... ew no. At least, not while he was actually a boy. He couldn't even think about it. He knew that Ithi was perverted enough to think about it, and he'd made that obvious.
"Nahh, we haven't slept together." He repeated. "And we aren't planning on doing so."

The sudden personal revelation made Rae's eyebrows climb. she really hadn't expected that much information to start coming out. She could understand what he meant though. Rae's transformation had helped her more than she really cared to admit, and she'd often wondered what would have happened had some people she'd known had the right powers, or been in the right situation. Hell, she'd gone through transfusions to purposefully give them the regeneration they needed to survive.
"Power ain't everythin', but it sure is hell is useful, tain't it?" agreed Rae, smiling. she put an arm around Sophie, giving her a little squeeze. Again, Rae couldn't help but notice that Sophie didn't feel quite right, but she again shoved it out of her mind. No need to worry that much about the sweet girl you'd just met.
Instead you should focus on sex.
"Well, sometimes waitin' can work," admitted Rae. She shrugged. "Ne'er worked fir me. Well, m'lass did have me fight her nearly tae th' death afore I could bed 'er, an' there was a bit o' a trouble even after tha'. But it tain't like it's tha' major... ye should definitely try droppin' hints. Make 'im want it. Ye'll get more attention tha' way. 'Sides, ye be cute enough."
Rae winked and gave another hug before scampering forward a little, looking around at the buildings. "Ken ye could let me ken wha' some o' these thin's are? Goin' tae have tae ken ta get around, aye?"

"I wouldn't know." Aaran sniffed, in response to her question. "I've never had any power. Unfortunately, my subhuman powers have gotten me into more trouble than not." He said, with a certain level of disdain, followed by an adoreably dimpled smile. "But I bet you're really powerful!" He explaied, with girlish glee.
Aaran wasn't sure how he could explain his situation without giving away the true nature of his ruse. He sighed.
"I'm not sure I really want to, Rachel." he admitted, finally. Ithi just doesn't seem that kind of guy. And I love him so much, I'd never want to change things between us." That was a blatant lie, and he knew that his face betrayed his true feelings. One of the things he wanted most was to be a girl, so he could marry Ithica, and be a perfect wife for him. Aaran's love had grown into a strange sort of obsession where he just kept telling himself he wasn't good enough. And he'd never be good enough until he could satisfy the quirky demon's every desire.
"But, did you really have to fight your partner?" Aaran asked, trying to change the topic of discussion. If she had to fight her partner and nearly kill her, then wasn't it a bit odd. Were they even a couple. Aaran eyed her with weary suspicion.
He could barely understand what she said next, her accent was so thick.
"Pardon?" He said, slightly baffled. "I don't think you should be offended" he said, his verbal manipulation coming through without him realizing it. "It's my own fault. I'm not a very good listener at the best of times." He yawned, and strtched like a cat, smiling.
