"Well, my name is Layla Carter, which you obviously know. I can feel what other people are feeling, and sometimes I can make them feel a certain way, but I always feel really tired after. I don't really see a point in changing the way someone feels anyway. Also, I heal really fast. I can show you, if you want."

"No, that's alright... But I am interested in your age? Sexual orientation? Any cute (girlfriends/boyfriends)? Come on, dish out all those juicy details! "

"I'm seventeen years old, but I'm pretty close to turning eighteen. I like guys, but I haven't had too many boyfriends. I'm not very good at controlling when I feel other people's emotions, so it makes it hard to be around people sometimes, especially guys. I mean, I feel like I get rejected a lot if I like someone but I don't pick up that emotion from them about me."

"Could you tell me what you look like?"

"Well, I'm kinda short. I'm only 5'3", but I don’t mind it too much. I guess I’m average weight. I don’t go to the doctor, so I don’t honestly know, but compared to other people I’d say I look normal. I have dirty blond hair that I tend to keep a few inches below my shoulders, but sometimes I like to die it dark brown if I get bored with it. My eyes are green. I wear eyeliner and mascara as far as makeup goes, but nothing else unless I’m really breaking out or something."

"Well aren't you a beauty. Do you have any certain types of outfits you like to wear?"

"Honestly, it all depends on my mood. I guess I would say that tend to wear a lot of girly clothes. I do like dresses and leggings and things like that, but some days I love just wearing sweatpants and a sweatshirt. Then again, who doesn’t?"

"So, Layla, tell me about your likes."

"Hmm… Well, I like animals. When I grow up, I’ll be a crazy cat lady, I can tell already. I love any neon color, but I don’t like wearing bright colors. My favorite food is probably chocolate. I really love to run, too. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or anything, I go for a jog to clear my head."

"Do you have anything you absolutely hate?"

"I can’t stand when people eat meat, since I grew up knowing what those animals were feeling as they were killed… Since I couldn’t control it when I was younger, I would randomly pick things up, and I could never eat an animal after that. I’m not really into contact sports, but I’ll play them if everyone else is. I also have a habit of biting my nails when I’m bored. Oh, and I chew on my lip if I’m nervous. I hate those bad habits."

"If you don't mind me asking, do you have any fun little secrets to share?"

"Not with you… Sorry.”

"So overall, what's your personality?"

"I guess I’d say I keep to myself a lot. I like to keep private things private, the way they’re meant to be. However, if I really get to know someone, I do open up. It just takes a while for me to get that comfortable. I have a pretty low self-esteem, but apparently that’s pretty normal for girls my age, so oh well. "

"Family. Family, family, family. Tell me about em! Mom? Dad? What're they like?"

"Well, I just have your standard relationship with your parents. I’m not particularly close to either of them, but when I have a problem, I mainly go to my mom. It’s not that they’re horrible people or anything, I just don’t know how to get closer to them, and frankly, I don’t know if they want to be close. So I suppose our relationship will remain the same. "

"Do you remember your childhood at all? Want to share with us what happened before you moved to the lovely state of New York? Have you always lived here?"

"I’ve always lived in New York, but I’ve moved around the cities here. I’m new to the Academy. I had pretty much your standard childhood, so I’m not really to sure what else to say. I didn’t have to many friends growing up, but that’s because I used to be even more shy than I currently am. I used to get made fun of, because I had a pretty big overbite, but braces saved me once I was in middle school. I’ve been a vegetarian for ten years now, and my parents thought it was a phase. After a few weeks they realized I was serious though. "

"Give us the 411 on the whole supernatural thing. How have you been coping? Or have you known all your life? What are you, exactly?"

"I actually really like having the cellular regeneration. It’s pretty nice to not be hurt for very long. I’ve known that for as long as I can remember. I’d thought it was normal until one of my friends got hurt when I was little and she didn’t heal like I did. As for the empathy projection… I’m still working on that one. I get random feelings sometimes when I’m not trying, and I’ve only tried to actually change someone’s feelings a few times. Every time I nearly passed out, so I tend to try to avoid that one…"
