The Girls
Though both girls are fairly outgoing, Chloe is a bit more conservative than her sister. She loves to chat but openly dislikes gossip, something that never ceases to irritate Roxanne. Roxanne is a bit dramatic and is never afraid to express herself. Both girls are deceivingly smart, and both hold a smug satisfaction when their bubbly personalities make way for intellectual thought. Surprising people is a joy they both partake in, though Chloe enjoys more clean fun than the usual trickery and mischief Roxanne gets into.
Chloe loves classical music and soft rock, whereas Roxanne's playlist ranges from country to heavy metal to electronic to hip-hop. Chloe will always choose a good book over a movie night, while Roxanne can't sit down long enough to read through one chapter, let alone an entire movie. While Chloe takes pleasure in domestic activities like cooking and sewing, Roxanne busies herself with shopping and clubbing. Occasionally their interests overlap; the sisters love flirting (though each has her own style), cherry cheese cake, snow, and dogs.
They're each other's best friend, and currently room together at the University. Though they study completely different things (Chloe is always at her history and literature classes while Roxanne takes music and combat lessons), they always find time to hang out. They can frequently be spotted at hot nightspots on weekends (sometimes Roxanne will go out during school nights), and malls (Chloe always spends less and buys more), and they work out at the University training centre every Wednesday.
Their Story
Chloe and Roxanne grew up competing against one another, both battling it out for their parents' affection. Of course their parents had no preference; they loved their daughters equally. But when they both passed away in an unexpected accident overseas, the twelve year-old girls were left in the care of their eighteen year-old brother Riley. Riley was given his parents money to look after the girls, but he didn't know how to invest properly. Soon their funds diminished, but by the age of sixteen the girls had learned how to be independent. Those four years of their lives were spent changing from competition to companion, and they would help Riley out whenever they could. Chloe got a job hostessing and Roxanne jumped into retail, and Riley was working full-time at a local bank as a teller.
During these eventful years, Roxanne started developing her gift. Thankfully Riley was Gifted as well; he attended the Academy until he mastered the gifts of Telepathy and Technomancy. When Roxanne unintentionally set the living room drapes on fire, he calmly explained what was going on. Soon more of her Gifts bloomed, when she'd wake up after a scary dream sending Chloe's books through the window without touching them. At this time, Chloe was beginning to show the same Gifts as her sister, which wasn't surprising, until she definitely showed signs of Riley's Gifts as well. It was unheard of for one person to have four Gifts; she could light fires, move objects with her mind, listen to what other people were thinking, and instruct machines to do as she wanted. Once the girls started attending the school, Riley was told about Chloe's special Gift of Mimicry. While at the Academy, Roxanne recognized her final gift of Forcefield Projection, and of course Chloe could imitate it with ease. The girls helped each other out all the way to graduation, practicing and refining their Gifts. By the time they started classes at the University, Riley was promoted to a junior accountant at his bank and finally learned how to invest his money. They were able to move to a nice house in New Jersey where the girls stay on holidays when they're not at the University.
