He sighed. I don't know what she'll do. What she'll think. Amber and I are close...; or at least we were three years ago. he galnced at her as they walked. He turned them down a street to the right. What would you do if someone you were close to became something that had to kill to live? he didn;t expect an answer. It was just supposed to make her think. Would Amber really hate him? the thought of the look on her face.. the disgust tore at his unbeating heart. He didn;t want to have her look at him like that.

What would she do? Chloris slipped her hand inside of his, smiling up at him. She swallowed down her indecisive nature, and answered his question. "I would love them regardless of what they've become. It's not right to abandon someone that you were supposedly close to."
Possum yawned in concurrence, snuggling his face into the man's neck.

He looked down at their clasped hands and smirked. His other hand reaching up and stroking the ferret lightly. Sure you would, sweetheart. But my sister's a bit different, out spoken. He smiled as a thought came to him and he veered down an alley, pulling ehr with him. There was a garden nearby that he liked to sit in and this was a short cut.

(ooc; Likewise. >.> I'm a bit braindead right now though. ><)
Chloris' first thought when they started down the alley was that he was going to chop her to bit and drink her blood for her iron-cinnamon deliciousness. She quickened her pace, striving to keep up with him. Why did he keep calling her sweetheart?
She didn't understand his comment about his sister. "But you said you two were close. So wouldn't she accept you anyway?" Chloris wondered what one of her own siblings would do if they turned into a vampire. She remembered her older brother dressing up like Dracula one year to scare her.

Maybe... after a time. She doesn't really take too well to drastic changes. he said remembering her she had closed up so much after their parents' death. They soon came out the other end of the alley and teh Garden was in veiw across teh street. Roses and irises and all kinds of colorful plants and flowers dotted teh flower beds along teh paths. Do you liek gardens? This is one of my favorite places in Queens. he said leading her across the road.

The girl nodded, trying keep up with him. She usually just meandered place to place, not really ever having to keep up with a vampire before. Chloris finally caught up with him, and took her hat off, wriggling her hand free. She put her hat on Kolton's head.
Possum sniffed, and climbed on the hat, curling up on his head. He kneaded his hands into Kolton's hair, much like a cat.
"Gardens are nice," she answered, her hair becoming shorter and lighter. Chloris sat down a bench, hugging her knees and looking around. She hadn't seen many gardens before - except in paintings and photographs. Unlike him, she hadn't been allowed to venture outside her whole life. But she also didn't explode.

Hey easy on the hair up there. he complained playfully to the ferret as he adjusted the hat a bit. Kolton smiled at Chloris. He wondered how old she was as he watched her change hair. She seemed young. But she was pretty. PLus being a vampire he tended to stay off the lawful radar so it's not like he'd get in trouble for being with a minor. he sat down beside her, reaching to the side of teh bench and picking a blue carnation. He sniffed it then presented her the flower. He was a hopeless romantic when it came to pretty girls.

Possum lowered his head again so that they were making eye contact. He made a noise similar to a "hmph!" and curled back on his hat, chittering quietly.
Chloris looked at the flower, then back at him. "Thank you, Mr Garner." She smiled. She wasn't very romantic, and although her older sisters (especially Bambi) had tried to teach her, she often dozed off during the informal lessons.
She phased her hand through the flower idly. "Are you nocturnal?"

Don't call me Mr. you make me sound old. he teased her. Just call me Kolton. And yes.. I am nocturnal, kind goes with teh whole vampire thing. he said leaning back on the bench and resting his arm behind her on the back of the bench. He watched her put her hand through the flower like it wasn't even there. Bet that little trick comes in handy. he said

"Don't call me sweetheart, it makes me sound young," she retorted, smiling crookedly. Of course, she was young. But she still didn't know how old he was, so maybe he really was an old Mister? "Kolton is a nice name."
Her back straightened when he mentioned her gift, and when he put his arm behind her. She nodded. Except when I fall through things, get stuck between walls, and other shenanigans I get into. She put the flower in hair.
"How old are you anyway?"

Kolton smirked at her counter. Fair enough. he said and smiled crookedly when she put the flower in her hair. It looked nice there. Age? Well. Technically I'll never age past 19. But i don't think you wanted to know that age. he chuckled a bit at his own antics. I'm 22. What about you? he asked her

She hugged her knees, trying to draw in body heat. Chloris twirled the flower in her hair, wondering idly if this guy was a pedophiliac creeper vampire. With good intentions. She was silent for a moment, eying him out of the corner of her eye.
Possum jumped off of Kolton's shoulder, scurrying across the gardens to another stranger. The stranger shrieked, attempted to kick the ferret, and ran out of the gardens. Possum returned, chittering sadly.
Chloris reached out to pet Possum behind his ears, picking him up and setting him between Kolton and herself. "I'm seven years your junior," she replied. "Which makes you a creepy old man." Chloris stuck out her tongue at him.

KOlton burst out laughing. Hey it's your ferret that instigated this little charade. he said smiling crookedly at her, revealing his fangs. Besides. What is age but a number. he said in a very philosophical way. He reached down and stroked Possum's back a bit then looked to Chloris. You know it's not very smart for a girl your age to be walkin around Queens at night. he said to her.

Possum blinked his red eyes up at the vampire, giving him an innocent look. Possum snuggled into Kolton's hand as if to say 'I'm just an innocent little ferret didn't instigate anything'.
Chloris was silent, pondering about age. Age did, normally, have a lot to do with maturity and physical attributes. But to vampires, age really didn't matter. Their bodies were essentially locked in time, no longer growing or expanding. She removed her hand from Possum and put them in her lap.
"What is age but a number?" She responded to his statement about not being very smart. Chloris knew that she shouldn't be walking around late at night with a 'creature of the night' seven years her senior. But if she had spent another second inside of her dorm she would have quite possibly died.
"Your sister is going to find out." She remarked suddenly, looking up to him. "I mean, I'm not a soothsayer or anything, but I think it's going to be opposite when you see her. You haven't changed for four years. What's going to happen when she starts to look older than you?" Hopefully he would have gotten the nerve to tell her by then.

He sighed and looked off as if thinking. I know she'll find out. And maybe you're right and she'll accept me. BUt right now... I'm not sure I'm ready to take that risk. She's the only family I have left. I'm not ready to risk losing her. he paused a few minutes then looked back to Chloris. Besides. The last time I saw her I could only stay for like two minutes. She wears our mother's locket at all times. And it pains me greatly to in it's presense.
