When it's all gone
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sing me this song
For once in a very long time, Stormy was actually taking a day off. What did this mean? She didn't have a job, not officially anyways. It meant she wasn'y shutting herself up in a computer lab ot lugging around her laptop, making programs and the like for clients. She had small orderd to fill, orders she could get to tomorrow. Claudine wasn't one to procrastinate, but once in a while when she was sure that she wasn't going to die from doing massive jobs, she'd let little ones wait a day.
So here she was now, standing at a Starbucks, Kavik teathered to a bike rack outside. Of course she was half-demon and didn't need real food, but the other half of her was still human, and that human half liked real food, it satisfied her some. Even if real food was just a cup of coffee every now and then.
As she waited for her drink she looked outside to make sure Kavik wasn't terrorizing more civilians and was glad to see that he was sitting there calmy, just snapping at the occasional fly. It wasn't unusualy for him to be calm, she was just paranoid about it all the time. He barked sometimes and the officials or whatever at the Academy were getting irritated and sending her several warnings.
At this thought she rolled her eyes and looked back to the counter where she was waiting for her coffee to appear. Like she really gave a damn about the Academy anyways, she had gone on this long on her own and taught herself her powers. She could master the final stage of Biocrystallization alone too, she didn't need that place. Besides, the rooms were pretty small and she could barely fit all of her equipment in there, not to mention her recording stuff. She hadn't recorded a good, real song in a really long time.
As she was lost in these thoughts, she didn't notice as Kavik squirmed his way out of his collar. It seemd a squirrel across the street in the large park was taunting him, and oh he was not one to be taunted by small, fluffy rodents. Kavik was free and he took off across the street.
Someone tapped her shoulder and when she finally turned around they didn't even need to tell her that her dog was on the loose. Kavik was a pretty big mutt, and she spotted him instantly.
"Oh crap."
She muttered to herself, surprisingly calm. Stormy snatched up her drink, finally, and took off out the door after her dog. That dog meant the world to Claude, and even though she looked calm she went berserk on the inside everytime he got loose, and that meant she'd chase him absolutely anywhere.
Anywhere, of course, not limited to accross a busy road.
As she jumped over the curbs and started across the road. She managed to dodge all the cars until one had to skid to a stop to avoid hitting her. Stormy froze in fear but it stopped just short of half a foot away from her. She stared for a second before darting away after her dog again.
