--- i'll be there when you close your eyes ,. ( HOLD YOU TIGHT, SAY GOODNIGHT ) New York City was the fashion capital of the world - for the most part. It was fun to see the different styles every day, especially on South Beach, and the weather was nice and warm, with a slight breeze here and there too. Running her hand through her dark hair, she remained on the side walk which ran along the beach, letting the sun bathe her. Honestly, it was always nice to be able to enjoy the sun, and she didn't need to get wet either. She did have on her bikini on underneath her clothes, but the water - she had heard, was chilly today, as usual, so she hadn't gone swimming. There was that little bit of hope though, that the water would be just slightly warmer so she could at least not die within the first few minutes of getting in. Thankful that the weather wasn't too hot, or too cold either, she continued on along the sidewalk in her heels, not caring about much really, as she adjusted her black purse, laughing quietly when she read her brother's text message he'd sent her. where u be hermana? she laughed and responded, where i be at? i'm out, i'll be back later. <3 as she tucked her iPhone away, she set it in vibrate, so she could choose to answer it later or not. Either way, she planned on enjoying the beach one way or another.
Thrilled she had a dress on, she undid her heels, and carried them in her opposite hand of the arm with her purse on it, and headed out onto the sand, feeling her feet sink in slightly. Tensing the sand beneath where she was walking, that allowed her to not sink in as much, before she headed to some rocks, and made her spot, away from most of the other people. Climbing up about four feet off the sand, she plopped down, glad she wouldn't be surrounded by random people, people's futures she could sometimes see. No, that wouldn't do for her today. Today, was her relaxation day and hopeful day to have some fun. Eye balling a bunch of young adults, around her age playing volleyball, she grinned. She'd been decent at it, mostly just serving, but never digging the serve of the opposing team, or blocking a spike, mainly because of her height. Holding her hair back, dark blue eyes looked out across the ocean, wishing she was more to the south of the US, so she could be closer to Puerto Rico, and the place she wanted to return to once she got out of the Academy. Forget all these gifts and this war, she wanted to go back home.
She started to sing softly in Spanish, letting the lullaby words flow lightly from her lips, not bothering to even look around to see if anyone was walking along the beach. Stripping her dress off, she sun-bathed, while still singing in the sun, letting her naturally darker skin absorb it. Smiling beneath her sunglasses, she took them off as the sun disappeared behind a few clouds for a few minutes. Placing the sunglasses on the crown of her head, the young woman suddenly heard someone else out on the bunch of rocks on the far end of the beach. Jumping slightly, she looked around, quieting herself from her quiet singing, as she apologized, laying her dress out, using her bag and shoes to hold it down, "I...I'm sorry, I didn't know someone else was out here."

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Just tell me how to breath; AND I WILL MAKE IT SO - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Shadow. Finally.
It seemed like weeks had passed, lying underneath the cold waves of the Atlantic. Perhaps they had. Delacoix had little way of knowing what had happened in the time he spent in silent contemplation, staring upwards in wait of a break in the sun. But it never came.
But it was worth it.
The night prior was hectic. A Breseis Vampire, a scout, from what Delacoix could tell, mysteriously wandered into the Academy. Began asking questions. Sniffing around. It made Delacoix uneasy, to say the least.
Twelve-hundred years had passed since his last encounter with the powerful Coven. Hoping to contain and control his power, they had destroyed everything Delacoix had loved, and turned him. Twelve-hundred years, he had spent on the run and in hiding, trying to live a life without them. For twelve-hundred years, he had remained elusive to them. This couldn't be allowed to change.
Combined with the Vampires general distaste for his people, there was no hesitation in attacking this Vampire. Hours were spent chasing his target, launching attacks and setting traps. Yet his target remained to steps ahead of him, always managing to escape somehow. For hours more, they clashed throughout the city. Until finally, he cornered her.
The roar of the waves was the only sound filling the night air as two figures stood upon a rocky out-crop. Looking out over the ocean in relative silence, each waiting for the other to make the first move. The woman, the Breseis, standing upon the very edge. One jump would place her in the water, her only real getaway at this point. Yet in the water, her movement speed would be drastically reduced. Delacoix could shoot her dead. He would have, if something hadn't intervened.
Sunlight. One of the few fears of someone so aged. Breaking through the clouds, through the early morning sky, a narrow beam laid itself between Delacoix and the Vampiress. Like an impenetrable barrier. A faint smile, barely visible through the blinding light, told Delacoix exactly what he suspected. He was in danger. Wasting no more time, the woman leaped from her position in the ocean. Delacoix had failed.
And yet, he was still not safe. Sunlight was peaking through. Very much not safe. Without thinking, Delacoix too leaped into the safety of the salty drink. And there he had remained.
~
The sensation of clothes clinging to ones body was not a likable one. It was clear upon the Vampires face that he was in complete displeasure. His clothing was ruined. Blackberry, and every vital to his work, destroyed. To top it all off, a Vampire was about to inform the most dangerous Vampire sect in the world that one of their oldest, most prized targets is alive and kicking. Lovely.
Delacoix had enough of water for quite some time, hastily fleeing from the waters edge. There was no time to waste - the sun could emerge at any moment. He was not going to die this way.
A soft voiced sounded from across the rocks, down near the sandy tourist beach. "I...I'm sorry, I didn't know someone else was out here." Still sprinting, coal black eyes strayed for a moment from the skyline to the woman before him. If doom wasn't a possibility at any second, Delacoix may certainly would have been astounded at how beautiful the woman before himself was. And wasted no time to tell her. Sadly, this was not the case. "I wasn't exactly sunbathing or anything," he spoke softly, briskly approaching the woman. His eyes couldn't help but dart excessively skywards as he spoke. "I'm sorry, I need to get to a car or building or something. It's a matter of life and death. Please," Delacoix urged, in a calm, soft manner.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

--- i'll be there when you close your eyes ,. ( HOLD YOU TIGHT, SAY GOODNIGHT ) When she fully rested her gaze on the newcomer, the brunette was surprised to be met with a very handsome young man. Handsome indeed. If she hadn't been concerned for both herself and his well-being, based on his appearance, she would have definitely done something about it. But no, now wasn't the time for that. Now was the time for action, to ensure his safety - as long as he didn't pose a threat to her. Dark blue eyes watched his carefully, seeing the darkness in them, grabbing her bag with her stuff in her, she heard him speak. Brows furrowed slightly, before she rummaged around in her bag, and produced her beach towel - one she hadn't put in the sand at all today, so it was still clean. Offering it to him, she spoke, "Will this suffice till I get my car?"
She offered, before throwing her shoes and dress into her beach bag, not caring to put her dress back on, at least she was moderately covered. Help him, her inner voice urged her. Help him. Well - of course she would. Quickly, whether or not he took the towel, she eyed his clothes, seeing they were soaking wet, "Wrap the towel around you...there's a building over there you can stay under just in case as I get my car, we can run." she jogged a few feet away, reaching for her keys in her bag. As she hit the pavement, glad to be out of the hard-to-run-in sand, Alex turned to the man quietly, hoping she'd be able to help him. She unlocked her Nissan, and pointed to it, "There, the one that beeped, if you can run faster than me." she mused, her gaze lingering on his for a brief moment, letting him run ahead, since he probably could, due to his legs being longer than hers were. Alex was partially glad she had put up the sun blocker object in the front of her car, to keep the sun and heat out. Sighing softly, she checked on the mysterious, handsome man, opening her car door swiftly and dumping her stuff inside. Speaking to him, she mused, "Do you need to warm up at all?" Her maternal side kicked in, wanting to take care of something, someone - him now. Not too over-maternal, but she was concerned, hoping she could help, she looked around, eying the sun that was behind the clouds. Checking the way the clouds were moving, he had a few more moments before it got out from behind, therefore he should be perfectly safe in her Nissan. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

If his heart could beat, it'd be going faster than that of a Dragon Force song.
It was difficult to keep his composure at this point. The sunlight was enough to mess with his nerves, for starters. Combined with the presence of a devastating beautiful woman, who seemed genuinely concerned with him, he was coming close to running about wildly screaming profanities.
"Will this suffice till I get my car?" The melodic voice of his make-shift rescuer returned his consciousness earthbound. "It won't do much, but it'll help. I'm going to need total coverage," he began, drawing the towel around his shoulders and neck. As long as it didn't directly touch his skin, he might be okay for a second or two. Maybe.
"Wrap the towel around you...there's a building over there you can stay under just in case as I get my car, we can run." Delacoix instantly lit up at the site of the small building. It was something of a wooden gazebo, for picnickers to take refuge from the rain. With no rain about, it was quite empty, and no less inviting. He could only nod before he ran for dear life to the wooden structure protecting him from certain death. Even it wouldn't be enough. Staring upwards, cracks were prevalent between the logs. They'd let the light through like a gilded cage.
"There, the one that beeped, if you can run faster than me."
"I'd like to see you try and stop me," he said, now uncaring if he exposed himself to her or not. If she was someone who didn't know of Gifted, or Vampires, she was about to learn. He'd deal with that later, if the need arose. There was just no concentrating with something as fickle as clouds being the barrier between life or death. With the speed and grace that only a Vampire of age could possess, Delacoix sprinted right up to the car. This was followed by phasing right through the door, and falling into the passenger seat.
"Do you need to warm up at all?" Such politeness was foreign to Delacoix. Never in his life had someone been so kind to him unless they wanted something. But how could she want something of him? She knew nothing of him. It felt so genuine, yet, he'd never known such a thing. He carefully rolled the window down enough to pin the towel in the window once it rolled back up. No more sunlight. "I-I... think I need to calm down first."
Suddenly very aware of how little of his body was being left to the imagination, Delacoix's forehead found his hand. Calamity slowly restored itself. Deep breaths. "I think I need to get out of these clothes, but I'll manage," he began, his voice now the soft, slow manner he was used to, "and thank you for being so responsive. I think I owe you my life right now. Or.. well."
There was no way to know how to start this conversation. But she had earned it, to say the least. He owed it to her, and a lot more. "Y-You know what I am... Don't you?"

--- i'll be there when you close your eyes ,. ( HOLD YOU TIGHT, SAY GOODNIGHT ) Needless to say, once the man had ducked under the log-covered shelter to give some shade to people and to protect them from the rain, her mind began racing. The Puerto Rican quickly began to narrow off a list of supernaturals, no human would act this way towards sunlight, since every human needed it in some ways in order to be able to survive. Blue eyes watched him as she then paused, wide-eyed when he had phased through the door of her Nissan to get into the passenger seat. Shocked, Alex quietly phased her hand through her steering wheel in order to at least stick her key in the ignition, but not enough to start it. Taking her hand and partial arm out of the steering wheel and stuff, she smiled shyly, showing him they had something in common. Sticking a shirt of hers on the window behind him - just to be sure, since that side was closer to the sun and where it would be, Alex smiled lightly, checking as some rays fell down, none of them would be in here. Good, she thought.
Alex perked when he mentioned getting out of the clothes, she looked around in her car, before producing another towel, a medium-sized one that she then stuck in the back window on her side, therefore the only window now uncovered was her own driver's side window, the back one she too had covered to help keep the sun out for the heat, but that was it. She gestured to the back seat, "You can change back there if you need to."
she then turned on the heat softly, pointing it towards him to make sure he'd stay warm - if he had to anyway. Pushing her seat back ever so slightly, she then drew her legs up and wrapped her arms around her knees, resting her chin on her knee caps. Lifting her head up and looking to him as he asked about knowing what he was, she refused to start firing anything at him. It wasn't right. He should be all right now, as she fished out her dress she had had on before, Zuleika paused. She then quietly answered after a second of getting her dress from her beach bag that was in-between her seat and his seat, "...Yes...I do." her eyes locked onto his darker ones quietly, and she then quickly mused, tucking back some of her hair behind one of her ears, "But I won't tell a soul, I just hoped this helps." she offered a weak grin, as she then placed her back against the window, even though her frame was smaller, she knew her shoulders, head would help block out some chances of sunlight getting at him - but she doubted it would, the angle it was in the sky, it would be right above them, on the roof of her car. Alex nodded solemnly, "I'm...Zuleika, or Alex for my middle name, or Zuls." she smiled shyly, and offered him her hand in a moderately formal gesture, before folding her legs and sitting Indian style, "Do I need to get you anything?" she offered then, as in if he'd forgotten something. Realizing she still hadn't put her dress on, she quickly slid that on over her shoulders, and easily slipped it all the way on, adjusting back to a comfortable spot, Alex looked to the vampire. What the best part was, she didn't have any fear, as she could sometimes have. They were always so much stronger, faster - better. The woman eyed him quietly, never judge a book by its cover. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Just tell me how to breath; AND I WILL MAKE IT SO - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - With safety surrounding the Vampire in the form of fabric walls, Delacoix could finally appreciate the beauty sitting beside him. And what a beauty she was.
Delacoix always favored dark brown/black haired women. He never understood why. Something about the contrast between the paler skin and the darker hair drove him wild. Throw in those magnificent eyes? Delacoix could be have purred.
"You can change back there if you need to." An eyebrow slowly raised itself, as this dark eyes flitted from the towel, to the back seat. Only now did he feel his body starting to shake from the cold. Nothing a that really bothered a Vampire, as they were always cold. But the shaking would get annoying, and worsen. Surely she knew he had no change of clothes, so she was suggesting him to simply change into a towel?
... Well, if it was her idea.
"Alright. I guess I should get out of these before I start shaking the whole car," he said, phasing backwards into the backseat. With a small, playful grin, he began to wrestle with his clothes, wondering if she was going to watch him in her rearview mirror. First unbuttoning the shirt, careful to watch for any sunlight peaking around. Carefully he removed each arm from its sleeve, until his bare chest was exposed. But then the atmosphere changed again.
"...Yes...I do. But I won't tell a soul, I just hoped this helps." The Vampires fingers paused at the button of his pants, not sure how to react. It was rare, at best, for someone to actually accept him for being a Vampire. A bloodsucker. A leech. And the rare few that didn't simply fear him, still didn't welcome him like this. It felt... Wonderful. "I'm really not worried about you telling anyone... I'm just not used to anyone willingly remaining the presence of a Vampire," he chuckled half-heartedly, as he was hit by the fact that what he was remarkably true.
In relative silence Delacoix tore his clothes of (actually tearing, there was no way of peeling them off). Wallet was tossed into the seat in front of him, and the rest tossed into a pile beside him. Including his Blackberry. The Corporation was going to let him have it for letting this one get destroyed. He made a mental note to request a water-proof one as he spun the towel around his waist.
One would assume the situation to be at least mildly awkward. For some reason, this was not true. Delacoix had no problems being semi naked, or completely naked, in front of strangers. It was usually them who made a big deal of it. Just another thing he never really understood about humanity.
"I'm...Zuleika, or Alex for my middle name, or Zuls."
"Delacoix DuRêve, but please, just call me Rêve," Delacoix replied, returning her gesture with an equally warm smile.
"Do I need to get you anything?" Delacoix could only ponder the possibilities of this question. There were certainly things he needed right now. There were certainly things he wanted right now. And there were things he really wanted. Seeing her in her swimsuit really didn't help those desires.
"I think we need to go shopping. I need a new wardrobe, stat. If you're willing to drive, and bear with me, we can turn this whole day into a shopping spree..." Delacoix offered, trailing off. A grin was expanding across his face, knowing that shopping was a nearly universal weakness of women. Delacoix too shared the weakness. Having countless millions of dollars at your fingertips did that to you. "But uh... Did you come here by yourself? We won't be abandoning anyone at the beach if we take off?" Now chewing his lip, this was his way of determining her relationship status. There certainly wasn't a way such an eye-popping woman was single, or even just here without friends. But he could hope.
