Did you do anything to the original picture, aside from cropping ? If not, then it's easy to just assume that lighting and everything else was already perfect, since it was a photograph. I personally like the font - it's along the same lines as some of the themes we have here. The font color is also nice - it meshes with the picture without completely blending in with the color of the castle. It's not too big and it definitely isn't too small. It's vertical, which is awesome because I'm thinking anything predominately horizontal would kind of just suck, aesthetically wise with the content of the main page. Plus, the length of it means that you can have a picture that size and not make it appear too overbearing. But this is just me. |

Whoa, I figured shit out! It' not that hard once you get going and figure out what you're doing a little.
All the Academy pictures makes me realize something. Where the hell is a school that huge supposed to go in NYC, especially if it just magically appears there? And how is the whole 'this building wasn't here yesterday but now it is' thing explained? Or is it not explained? Or am I totally missing something? I'm way too damn literal.

I AM A FREAKING IDIOT.
I've got Elvis Presley and Bruce Springsteen open on Wikipedia because I am a nazi and like to do things by form. Yesterday, I made some positive changes to Eiji's 'Early Life and Background' category, including his ancestry and his parents' ancestry and stuff and I DIDN'T save changes before saving TABS. WHY would I do this. Because I'm an IDIOT. God I feel stupid.

KT. I just fixed 1 typo, on each of your pages because I'm a loser who couldn't wait to simply let you know when you get online later. If you look in the History area, you can compare my edits to your last edited date, and if I did anything wrong, sorryyyyyyyy D:
*CHRIS. I like the bottom text color in the second one, but I like it the way it was in the first version. Also, I couldn't remember earlier if the first one had a border or not, but now that I know - :/

Chris! Try Von's technique for the text; add a slightly transparent shape behind it so the text stands out. Then the dropshadow has something 'solid' to stand out on, and that way the way it multiplies doesn't blend into the darker colours. And you can still see the image behind it, but it looks even more 3d (the text is in the foreground, the image in the background).
You can try it at the top where is says My Own Shadow, but I don't really think that's necessary. It might break the image up too much and make the castle look shorter and less regal.
Katie: The way I imagine it is the Academy doesn't just up and move, someone is planning where they're moving to and when. They would have prepared NY for their arrival, buying out an existing building, maybe bringing the building over in pieces... I know that would take a really long time; Maybe parts of the Academy follow them wherever they go. The parts in the pictures? Lol. It's best not to apply logic to some things. It can make our heads hurt.

Oops, soz I totally forgot you asked a question KT. Give me a moment though, or wait till Meg comes online. She's way better at this stuff than I am. I just ignore it because it makes me angry when I think about it.
Chris+Meg: I tried to put in a template for quotes (basically indented with large quotation marks, a new line and right alignment for name of person quoted) but that failed. I have accosted each of your talk pages though, I just decided to mention this here cos I don't know how Wikia works - whether they notify you or not.

Aaah. I'm trying to figure out how to make Eiji's Wikia cool like a proper Wikipedia page (not that that has any merit anyway), without making it suck by having it too long/pointless/both.
