The MC's voice boomed throughout the theatre, "There are three guards. The competitor must disable them from attacking. They are not allowed to kill, or injure in a way that would kill, these men. Each guard that is rendered unable to fight, is worth one point."
A door opens, and light streams out. You can see the stage, and you are urged to go forward. When you enter the arena, the crowd errupts in loud applause and whistles. Some are chanting your name. But above this noise, the MC speaks to you, and you alone.
"Try to get as many points as you can, because the more you get in Stage I, the easier Stage II will be for you." The guards all turn in your direction.
"Let's see if Leogare has Stage Fright!"

As the doors open, and the cheers of the crowd wash over him, Leo smiles. A fight, they sent a Brooklyn city boy into a Fight Club wanna be scene and expected other people to even have a chance? Oh now this was just insanity. Though it would be unwise to underestimate the guards, they might have had some special kind of power or some such.
Leo backed up to the wall, to maximize his distance as he thought about his plan. Fighting two was ok, but three was iffy, which meant he needed to eliminate one of his opponents quickly. If he played his trump card early, he could probably get one out, but that would mean that he would lose that advantage against the others.
But the more time he wasted, the more chance they had to get a lucky shot, so there really was no choice.
Leo broke into a sprint, practically flying at the rightmost guard. He was close enough to headbutt him when he pressed his gift into his foot, and spun on a dime, his direction changing instantly. In the blink of an eye he had changed course at the same speed, aiming to strong arm the left most guard in a devastating clothesline.

The poor guards didn't stand a chance.
Sure, they were in peak physical condition, but they were completely ordinary, random workers who had signed up for Stage Fright seeking a higher paycheck. They were strong, possibly even stronger than Leo, but they had no real experience fighting, save a few drunken brawls or teenage fistfights from years ago. They were fast, but he was faster; their eyes could scarcely place him as he moved.
They were armed, and he was not, but they were terrified.
The rightmost guard gave a loud shout in alarm when the speedster rushed straight at him, desperately swinging his baton upward and sheilding his face with one arm. He gave a sigh of relief when Leo changed directions; though he didn't even come close to hitting him with the baton, he was relieved he hadn't been bulldozed. The leftmost guard, however, was not as lucky.
He was watching, eyes wide, jaw-dropped, as his friend was nearly steamrolled, when all of a sudden the crazy creature changed directions and came straight at him! He didn't have time to block - not that it would have helped - or run, and Leo hit him hard. He fell over backward and hit the ground. His vision grew blurry, and the whole arena did a sickening spin, before he blacked out.
The crowd went wild with laughter as the center guard took off running for the other side of the stadium. Apparently he had seen quite enough, and was now attempting to escape.

Leo felt the impact in his arm, boy that smarts. It had put the guy down, but his arm would be numb for a good hour after that kind of an impact. He didn't wish to show this though, so he snaked his right hand into his pocket and looked at the man he originally charged at, the one that was left. He circled him, positioning himself so if the middle man decided to be courageous, he would notice. And he grinned wide and long at the man before him, now was the time to convince him that he had no chance at all, even though he was armed.
Leo turned his Brooklyn accent on full blast and began making furious gestures of no real meaning. "S'at it?! C'mon 'm jus getin warmed up! C'mon, take a swing, take a rush, pull out a gun for ****s sake just DO SOMETHING!" He shouted at the man, wondering if he could scare two people out of this fight and win it with a single punch.

The center guard lept off the stage and forced his way through the audience; keeping himself alive and intact was more important than keeping his job.
The remaining guard swayed uneasily as Leo egged him on. He wanted to leave the arena in one piece, and one of his comrades was lying on the ground, no doubt with a serious concussion. But then again...if he could somehow take the boy out, all by himself...there could be a big reward in store.
He nervously glanced at his fallen ally, and then back at Leo. Maybe he was bluffing. Maybe he had to recharge after all that running around. He inched closer to his opponent, shaking so badly that he could hardly walk straight, and tentatively swung his baton at him.

Leo didn't move as the man approached him, he didn't break his gaze, he just continued to stare him down. He inched closer and closer and Leo didn't move. Then the man took a swing that would make a 10 year old softball player embarrassed, and Leo raised his left leg to block the hand with his own knee, stalling the baton. He kept his gaze locked on the man.
"Seriously? That's all?" The gaze was replaced by a foot as Leo brought down his left foot, and brought his right one up with a fierce jump kick.

'Oh great. He's some kind of blackbelt, too!' The remaining guard thought worriedly, eyes bulging as his baton was effortlessly blocked. 'I knew I should have stayed out of this! Jackson had the right idea. I'll make a break for it!'
He breathed a sigh of relief when Leo brought his left foot down again, thinking the gifted was showing him mercy.
Then he was promptly kicked in the face.
He fell to the ground in a crumpled heap, and the crowd went wild.
"Amazing! He's already taken out the guards! Is Leogare Lasteulf the one to beat? Let's see how he does in Stage Two!"

Leo turned towards the crowd and through a wave to them, and then ran his hand through his hair and walked around the stage. Maybe he should have held back? Nah, they wouldn't have if they thought he was normal.
"See ya next round!" He shouts to the crowd. "Don't blink or ya might miss it!"
