Sneaking out during the night was always the tricky part. Sure, there were generally problems actually wooing the girl. Even for someone like Rae, who could generally get along by sheer force of will and personality. Nevertheless, it was sneaking out during the night that caused the most trouble. The girl was to be left alone to sleep in bliss while Rae sneaked out on her own.
Currently the lycan held her boots in her hands and tip-toed through the Wingrose dormitory. Yes, she'd managed to woo a Wingrose girl. Some of them weren't the brightest, after all.
Rae's hair was mussed, her eyes bleary, and her clothes disheveled. The look only really worked if you were into that sort of thing. But Rae also looked rather content, like the cat that had gotten the cream. Things had been looking up for her lately, after all. And now she could wallow in her usual activities.
Given the distracted state of Rae's mind, it's no surprise that she tripped over something, landing hard on the ground. The lycan let loose a few curses, pushing off the floor. Now she was certainly more awake, though doubtless someone else would be too. Slightly nervous, Rae glanced around, wondering if anyone else had heard her.

Kiri had stayed up late drawing again when she heard a loud thump nearly having her fall out the window she sat upon. Terrified she slid down from the window sill and to the floor setting her sketch book beside her. It was most likely just one of her classmates coming back late, or sleep walking. She snuck over to the couch and peered over the back and saw someone in the shadows.
"Um, h-hello? Are you lost?" Since she was in her common room she should just assumed that it was another Wingrose, but she didn't know why anyone would be leaving he dormitory. "Isn't it a bit late to be going out?"
Kiri sat up more trying to see the person better in the dark common room. The fire had died out hours ago and the only light shining in was the moon. She only hoped that the person was just another classmate like she thought, and not some scary person. It would be very bad if she'd just said hello to a scary person.

The voice startled Rae. She didn't freak out that much though. It was a female, after all. True, some females didn't react well to Rae. But most of those were Cavans or Almasians. Wingroses were, as a rule, pushovers. Which really was Rae's favorite type of girl.
She turned slowly, grinning at the girl who'd spoke, and saw the cute bundle of blonde energy. The young Faerie girl looked absolutely delicious, and it was everything Rae could do not to lick her lips. The girl might take that the wrong way.
"Nae, I isnae lost," said Rae, shaking her head. She sauntered over to Kiri, still grinning. "An' isnae it a wee bit late fir a lass such as yeself ta be stayin' oop? Or."
Rae stopped just short of Kiri, reaching out to play with the younger girl's hair. "Are ye jus' a bad lass?"
Rae looked down at the smaller girl, arching her eyebrows and slowly grinning.

She has a neat accent! Kiri smiled realizing that the lady was nice and friendly. All her fear disappeared as the lady came over grinning so nicely. She didn't even mind that the girl touched her hair.
"Yeah, it is kind of late, but I got distracted drawing like I usually do." The older girl's next question made Kiri tilt her head in confusion, but ended up smiling and giggling a bit. She played with a wrinkle in her green pajama pants staring at the girl.
"No, I'm not a bad girl. I just like drawing by moonlight." Kiri's eyes drifted to the hand playing with her long blond hair and her smile wavered slightly.
This girl didn't feel all the way right, but it wasn't nice just to judge a person first off. Kiri smiled back at the older blond trying to be nice. For that was above all what a Wingrose girl would do.
"What about you? How come you're here so late? Are you a Wingrose?" The young fae tucked a stray lock of hari behind her pointed ear with her smile still in place. Then wrapped her arms across her stomach right under the picture of a cartoon chipmunk.

The Faerie girl just got cuter and cuter the more she talked. You just wanted to eat her up, she was so sweet. Fortunately Rae's appetite was mostly satiated, and she had no plans on working Kiri over. For now she'd settle mostly for flirting, and a small peck on the lips at most. Something to make the girl blush and giggle. A good story for her little friends.
"Drawin'?" Rae asked. Her eyes started searching for a drawing of some sort to compliment. Something about this girl struck Rae as oddly familiar, as if she should know who this is. Besides a little lollipop waiting to be licked.
"Nae, I was jus' visitin' a mate o' mine," she explained. The search for a drawing was abandoned and Rae focused back on Kiri. "Didnae want ta make it a sleep o'er."
This was almost too easy. Rae grinned again, and tucked a loose bit of blonde hair behind Kiri's ear. This revealed the point, which didn't surprise Rae much. Something about Kiri just screamed faerie.
"Name's Raelena St. John, by th' way," offered Rae. "An' wha's ye name? Tis it as pretty as ye?"

What was the girl looking for? Was something behind her? Kiri turned slowly trying to see what the stranger was looking for, or at. Not really seeing anything she turned back frowning slightly, a bit confused.
"Yeah, I draw a lot. Flowers, animals, landscapes..." What is she looking for?! Kiri turned to look behind her again not seeing anyone else in the room but the two of them. Course flower, and fluffy animals weren't all she drew anymore. Nowadays she found herself drawing a fair amount of pictures of a cute, cat-eared boy.
"Aww, but sleep overs are fun! You stay up late and watch movies, or braid each other's hair while talking about boys or telling ghost stories." All of this she had heard about, or read in a teenage book. Kiri herself had never been to a sleep over but she thought it sounded fun.
Giggling at the girl's compliment she froze. That was something boys told her when they thought she was cute, and usually they ended up asking her out. The girl couldn't have possibly meant it that way.
"Umm, my name's Kiri, Kiri HoneyWater." Her smile wasn't nearly as bright as she answered Rae's question. But worried that she was making false judgements she pushed away those negative thoughts and her the smile softened.

This almost felt wrong. Rae knew she could continue to string the poor girl along. While Kiri physically looked to be within Rae's strike range, she certainly didn't act like it. It felt wrong to deceive her, and Rae just wasn't quite that evil.
Sighing, she lowered her hands, and chuckled, rolling her eyes. Karmine was right, she was losing her touch.
"Kiri, lass, I disnae ken ye ken tha' much aboot me," she explained, focusing back on Kiri. "I isnae aboot ta eat ye or someit. I just like lasses th' same way boys do. So when I say 'ye look pretty,' I mean it."
Rae couldn't believe she was actually spelling it out for someone. If she hadn't just satisfied herself, she probably wouldn't have. That was the excuse she was using, at any rate.
"An' where's ye art? I wanted ta see wha' ye drew," Rae looked about again. Hopefully someone hadn't taught Kiri that lesbians were scary and unnatural, or else this could get ugly.

The lady didn't look very happy and that made her smile fade into a frown. Had she said something wrong? Done something to upset her? Her eyes followed the lowering hands and she felt bad, like she'd upset the girl.
"What I do?" Kiri looked up worry in her eyes for even if it was a stranger she never wanted to hurt anyone. Unless that someone was trying to hurt Locke, then they could feel pain. As Rae explained herself Kiri's smile returned glad that she herself hadn't done anything wrong.
"Oh, well that's okay. But I don't like girls that way." Kiri giggled a bit wondering why the girl was telling her all of this. "Besides I have a boy friend."
At Rae's question Kiri beamed and stood running across the room to get her sketchbook. The last picture she had drawn was of the moon with clouds moving over it over the lake. She ran back to the girl and held out the book. At least none of her more private pictures were in this specific book.
"There ya go!" Kiri hopped back onto the couch playing with her long hair kicking her yellow, fuzzy slippered feet. "Sit next to me?"
If the girl was going to look through her art she might as well set down, and Kiri also wanted to get to know the girl. She seemed oddly familiar in some way now that she'd talked with her for a bit. Maybe one of Kennedy's friends?

Wow, now Rae was going to look through drawings with someone who clearly had a completely innocent mind. All without any intention of defrocking her or smashing that innocence to smithereens.
"A boy friend, eh?" Rae chuckled, shaking her head. Some doe-eyed little kid, most likely. As full of gumdrops and sugar as the little Fae girl. Unless the world was even more messed up than Rae figured.
She followed Kiri with her eyes, watching the girl flop into a chair. As Kiri called her over, Rae mumbled under her breath.
"Anyone shows oop, I'm f**kin' throwin' m'self onta tha' lass an' claimin' twas a seduction."
But she plopped down on the couch next to Kiri, leaning over to look at the book. "Alrigh', show me wha' ye have, lass."
And she fervently hoped this was one of Kennedy's little friends. That would also make a decent excuse.

Kiri could've sworn the girl had said something but she hadn't understood what she'd said. She shrugged it off kicking her feet waiting for the girl to come sit next to her.
"Yep, a boy." Smiling she opened up her sketchpad displaying the moon picture in charcoal pencil. For seeming a bit scary at first the girl seemed pretty nice now. Though she was a tad worried that she was just being bothersome to the older girl.
"You can just look at them at your own pace." Kiri slipped the book closer to the girl trying to be nice. She didn't want to bother her while she was looking at the pictures, but she also wasn't very good at not talking either. Especially when she first meets someone.
"So... do you know anyone at the academy? Do you go here? Where are you from, I like your accent." Warm gaze matching her wamr smile Kiri watched the girl look at her pictures. She didn't often get to talk to random people in the middle of the night. It was kind of fun.

The pictures were quite impressive, and Rae thoroughly enjoyed looking at them. She had to resist the urge to use them as a seg-way into flirting. It was just something that came naturally to the flirtatious lycan.
A cat-eared boy stuck out for Rae, and she stared it it for a while. It felt as though this boy held significance for Rae. As if he'd done something important for her. But she didn't recognize him, so she flipped on.
"I ken a few lads an' lasses at tha' Academy," answered Rae, turning to grin at Kiri. "Kennedy's a mate o' mine, an' I ken his lass ta. Also ken a few other folks, Kenneth, Morgan, lot o' th' partyin' crowd."
She shrugged, "I dropped oot o' th' Academy, lass. Isnae a good plan, but it worked fir me. Comes wit' bein' a singer."
Again, a shrug. Rae loved her life, but she didn't particularly want others to follow. Dropping out of school and having sex with strangers? Not exactly role model material.
"An' I'm Scottish, lassie," Rae ended, rubbing the top of Kiri's head. "Tis part o' England, an' I hooked oop wit' th' Academy there. Met m'mates an' wha'. Tis a good place ta live, an' I sound great, nae?"

As Rae paused at a picture of Locke she held her breath hoping she didn't ask a bunch of questions. But the older girl just kept on through the pictures, and Kiri was able to relax. She was really glad all the mushy pictures were up in her room. That would have been embarassing to have some stranger see a drawing of her and Locke holding hands by the lake.
"Kennedy! He's my big brother! Well, my adopted big brother." She recognized some of the other names as well, but she wasn't very close to any of them. Kiri tended to keep to herself and her animals, other than Locke. Though Kennedy's girl friend made Kiri a bit envious, she was just so pretty.
"Singer? Ohh! Sing! Please? Please? I shared my pictures with you!" Kiri hopped on the couch turning slightly to face the girl her face alight with excitement. The head rub made her giggle but she wouldn't drop the singing begging.
"Sing? Please? Maybe a song is Scottish or something? Anything! I don't care." She loved music though all her songs she'd ever made up while playing outside sounded like children songs.

One of Kennedy's little adopted sisters? That must be why Kiri seemed so familiar to Rae. Though it also made her want to tease Kiri slightly less. The last thing Rae wanted was to irritate her old friend.
"Kennedy's a good lad," agreed Rae, nodding. "So ye got a good big brot'er; jus' make sure ta keep 'im in line."
She winked at Kiri, then listened intently as Kiri begged for a song. Of course, Rae wasn't about to deny anyone a chance to hear her sing. Only thing better than sex and all that.
Problem was making sure that she didn't sing anything that would burn Kiri's innocent ears. Innocent... yes, that was perfect!
"Waking up I see that everything is OKThe first time in my life and now it's so great Slowing down I look around and I am so amazed I think about the little things that make life great
I wouldn't change a thing about it This is the best feeling
This innocence is brilliant I hope that it will stay This moment is perfect Please don't go away I need you now And I'll hold on to it Don't you let it pass you by..."
The song sounded wonderful accapella, almost as if it were made to be sung that way. Only a few lines in, and Rae had already closed her eyes and let herself get lost in it. Certainly not Scottish, but definitely a good song, and heart wrenching. It also seemed to suit Kiri, at least from what Rae could see. OoC: "Innocence" - Avril Lavigne

"Yeah, Kennedy is a good guy." He was so good he got her and Locke together, technically. She was lucky that he was her friend. Now she had to do something for him, maybe the nice Scottish girl could help her in some way. For Kiri hadn't been as happy as she was with Locke in a long time. Since before her mom left.
The song had her lips sewn together as she listened. It was beautiful, and it sort of made her sad, but happy at the same time. It also made her think of Locke course lots of things made her think of him. He controlled her world now it seemed. She had almost let him pass by, had almost lost that chance. He'd saved it by telling her he liked her.
Afraid that the song wasn't done she sat hands in her lap lips pressed together until they disappeared into her mouth.

The song continued of its own volition, carrying singer and listener along with it. Eventually, like all things, it ended, followed by a few moments of silence. Then Rae grinned at Kiri, throwing a companionable arm around her new friend.
"Now, do ye ken tha' ta be good enough for ye?" she asked, smirking. "Isnae a Scottish song or anythin', twasnae even a hit o' mine. Beautiful though, aye?"
She winked at her friend, then tapped the book again, nodding. "Least ye work gets ta hang around fir a while. Years from now, someone could find ye stuff. Tain't findin' a song, les' I be singin' it."
She chuckled, shaking her head. "Love it though. An' if ye kenned tha' ta be good, ye ought at bring ye lad ta a concert o' mine. Ye'd enjoy yeself, an' get ta show off a wee bit. 'sides, I hasnae gotten ta flirt wit' ye much yet, an' ye just so cute."
Rae leaned over and pecked Kiri on the cheek, following it up by pinching it in a friendly manner. You just couldn't help yourself around Kiri. Not even Rae.
