The two were both completely red like two adorable cherries, and it brought on the giggles. Stress, plus embrassement, plus seeing him blush, made giggles. Lots of giggles. Her hand still covered her mouth and the other still held his hand tightly.
When he basically yelled that he'd like it too she jumped the giggles stopping like a stopped up bottle. A tad worried about his heavy breathing she reached out her hand to touch his cheek.
"Are you okay?" His answer was very important to her but his well being meant more. She inched closer worried about him. Was admitting stuff like this that extremely hard for him? It was hard for her sure but it seemed to be phsyically hard for him.
"And...thank you. That makes me very happy." Kiri smiled cutely squeezing his hand a bit in hers. Now she could tell other boys who tried to flirt with her to buzz off like an angry bee because she had somebody! She giggled at her bad rhyme and giggled again because she was just so happy.
I'm Locke's girl friend. I'm Locke's girl friend! Squee! Literally thinking the word squee she just couldn't stop smiling.
"Okay, now that we got all the hard stuff out of the way we can go on our walk." They was certainly to be more hard stuff to coem but they'd tackle it then. For now just admitting that they liked each other and that they were together was enough for her. Besides poor Locke looked like he was about to pass out.
Imagine what he'd do if I kissed him on the cheek! I bet he'd pass out. Kiri bit her lip and giggled at her private little joke her cheeks burning a bit again at the thought.

Locke nodded, still plenty red. "I'm ok...it's just." He smiled at her, looking a little drained. "I've answered hundreds of questions in my time, never with a problem, I knew all the answers. But you seemed to have all the hard questions, and it's not something I was expecting, and a lot of things I had to think to find the answers for."
"Now I don't mind the hard questions, because they are worth it." He said with a grin. "But now enough of this, I believe we have a walk to take." He added, squeezing her hand back. All her giggling was contagious as he chuckled lightly.
"Besides, if we keep staying in here it'll be night before we can even get out past the gates!" He didn't let his hand drop from hers as he took a few steps towards the door. After all, if he let go, she might vanish.
So never let go of her. Something precious once found, should never be relinquished.

Glad that he was okay she held his hand following him in his steps toward the door. Thinking it was hilarious that she was the one to give him the hard questions in life. When all this time it felt like he gave her the hard questions with school, but he was better at the kind of stuff. She was better at relationships but not the best, certainly not the best.
"I'll be sure to make the rest of today less hard. No more hard questions, agreed?" Kiri kept walking not letting him go, she had just gotten him why would she let go? It would be funny to watch people stare at them as they walked hand in hand down the corridors. The book worm and the flower child were dating. How does that work?
"Do you mind that we hold hands in front of people? I don't mind it kinda makes me happy." Those last words were a bit quiet as she went to open the door to the commons room. She wouldn't open in until he answered. If he didn't want to show affection in front of others even as small as holding hands then she didn't want to leave.
"I know I said no more hard questions, but if you're not comfortable with it then..." I'm going to glue my butt to the couch and hold your hand because I don't wanna leave you.

Locke merely flicked his ear with his free hand. "People talk behind my back about these all the time, at least I'll give them something that matters to whisper about." He said with a grin. "Oh, and that reminds me of a question for you, something that always bothered me." He was slightly serious now, but still had his smile on.
"Why did you never ask me about my ears? You...were the first girl who talked to me like a person, and didn't treat me like a little pet."
Not quite true, Morgan didn't either. But the first girl his age that...well...was cute.
"It...was something I like about you, but I always wondered, cause most in your house would have."
He saw her hesitation on the door and reached out with his free hand and placed it on top of hers, pulling the door open. No more time for second thoughts, it was time to be bold and brave now, or at least pretend he was.

She followed his hand to his ears and his comment made her facial features grow dark her fairy glamor making her rather fearsome sight. "Those people have no right to talk about you behind your back. If I ever hear them I'll have a symolidon eat them."
Then just as quickly she turned back into happy, perky, Kiri. "What did you want to ask?" She smiled her head tilting like an inquiring bird. Blinking she thought on it a bit then smiled and shrugged.
"You're a person, not a pet. Just because you have cat ears doesn't make you an animal. It makes you unique, and it's just another trait about you like a nose or a hand." A hand in which she squeezed for emphasis. "If you wanted to tell me the source of your ears you would have. I can't lie I was very curious, I wanted to touch them, I wanted to know, and came up with many stories on my own." She blushed lowering her gaze sadly.
"But you're you, you're not your ears. Just because someone has something different about them doesn't mean they are different. It's who they are that makes them different." Shrugging she felt like she was just blathering on not making any sense. He made it sound like she was some saint for not attacking him about his ears. But it wasn't true she wanted to touch those cute ears as much as anyone, but her mother taught her better than that. As far as she could remember she'd never touched his ears, and she glanced at them now. They were just so cute! Then her eyes lowered to his and she smiled but he was cuter.
His hand on hers on the door made her smile even more pulling open the door with him. This was it, he was so strong and sure of himself. So confident. It was amazing and she was glad he was with her now.

Locke turned in time to see Kiri's glamor, and was a little scared right then. A whole range of emotions today, sad, happy, angry, Kiri was certainly in rare form today. He looked at her sideways and stepped through the door frame, holding her hand tightly to ensure she didn't trip or fall.
"You know Kiri, you have really surprised me today. Sadness, Anger, Jealousy, I didn't think Wingrose girls had those emotions. But you were right when you said it best. Just because you are happy and fun all the time doesn't mean that's all there is to you, it's just a trait, and it makes you unique." She looked a little sad when she mentioned inventing stories about his ears.
"Well then how about I set you straight?" He said. "See, my mom and dad used to adventure around a lot. And my dad, he was pretty reckless, so my mom goes along with him when he's going out hunting. So one time he finds these rumors of some beast that can change peoples forms. Just business as usual, but mom didn't know she was pregnant with me at the time. So she got hit with that ability, and they fixed it quickly. But apparently..." He said gesturing to his ears. "The work was already done. I was born like this, and people freaked, as expected. It would be my luck to get just the ears and the tail, and not breath fire or claws or something cool like that..."
He was completely unawares that he had just admitted to his tail's presence underneath his lab coat. And it's true ignorance was bliss, because he couldn't panic if he didn't realize yet.

She blushed when he made the statement about her being mad. He just was able to bring everything out today, but at least now he knew she wasn't just some bubbling fool who didn't feel any other emotions. Kiri felt a large range of emotions but she just liked showing the perkier ones.
His story was like some fairy tale! It was much better than any of the stories she ever thought of. Most of hers involved evil Gifted, mad scientists, or that his mother was a mytical cat spirit who fell desperately in love with Locke's father. That last one was her favorite.
"Well, then it's not your fault, so why make your life harder just because of something a mean monster did to your poor mom?" Pausing she almost fell over her own feet. "You have a tail?" She almost screamed it but it was still rather loud when she said it. Ears, ears she could be calm about she had rather pointy ears. but a tail? Biting her lip she did her best to not react like a regular Wingrose girl.
So he has a tail big deal. He's still Locke. Doesn't change the fact. I have wings that doesn't change me now does it? With that thought she calmed down and smiled.
"That's neat. I'm guessing you hide it so you don't reactions like that, huh?" Kiri felt kind of bad for reacting like that right after he had praised her for not acting like normal girls. Well, she failed again.

"Well yeah, but not being my fault never stopped anyone be-WHA?!"
Locke stumbled and nearly fell flat on his face, though he wound up pulling on Kiri's hand to steady himself. Inadvertently this pulled her right into his chest again.
She stayed there for a beautiful, heavenly moment before Locke stepped back. He then realized he HAD just said that. Oh! Wait. Why did he care? He liked Kiri. She was his g-g-girlfriend, so if he couldn't share secrets with her, then who could he share them with? He then saw her look a little ashamed at herself. Oh no, none of that. She was not going to be sad again!
Locke shook his head. "I'd hide the ears too if I could, but I can't. Don't worry about it, I kind of expected the reaction. It means enough to me that you tried to contain the reaction. Seriously, it means a lot to me Kiri. And besides, what does it matter if you know some of my secrets? Isn't it right for a boy to be honest with h-his g-g-g-girlfriend?"
God that word wasn't getting any easier to say.

She eeped when he almost fell then with eyes the size of ostrich eggs they were very close. All too soon he stepped away from her and her eyes went elsewhere. None of her other dates had been this awkward, though in her other dates she hadn't really liked the boys. She liked him.
As he tried to make her feel better she smiled the mask falling in place so easily. "Okay." Smiling she started walking again refusing to look for a hint of tail or to look at his ears. It wasn't really obvious she just looked ahead occasionally turning to smile at him.
"Well, I hope you can be honest with me." Kiri made a cutsey smile as her free hand twirled the end of her pig tail. A typical reaction from a happy girl.
"I like sharing secrets. If there's anything you ever want to know just ask, 'kay?" The fae gave a short giggle not thinking she really had any secrets to share. She was open with basically every aspect of her life. Being perpetually perky didn't leave much room for secrets.

"Only truth Kiri, only truth." He said to her, squeezing her hand with a smile. "Well 'teacher' where shall we start on our little walk today? We could go around the gardens, or down by the lake, or maybe into town. Where shall our adventure begin?"
He and Kiri turned a corner, and he noticed the boy who had admitted him into the common room. The boy looked at Locke, and then at Kiri and seemed dumbfounded. Locke didn't bother explaining anything and walked right past him, with his lovely escort in toe.
This would be a good day, he was sure of it. So far it would be hard to get any better, but that didn't mean he wouldn't try. After all, he couldn't disappoint her, not when she had given him such great gifts.
Every now and then he squeezed her hand to remind himself that this was real. It really was, she was with him, and she was happy. And he was happy.
It was amazing.

"Only truth Kiri, only truth."
Those words stung but she smiled her hand tightening on his as well. He'd given nothing but truth from the day she'd met him. All she gave him were lies. At least they were happy lies laced in smiles and giggles. Those kind of lies weren't as bad...right?
"I vote we just keep walking. Go wherever our feet take us." Kiri said lightly not noticing the boy staring at Locke and her as they passed him. Each time Locke squeezed her hand it was like he was squeezing her heart making her almost burst with happiness.
The longer he held her hand the less she needed her mask and was just all around happy. But...now what? Did they just walk? What did they talk about? Before all they seemed to talk about was studying and what was going on in school. She wanted to know more about him.
"What's your favorite color?" The question came out of no where and she sounded almost lost in the clouds. Her bright blue eyes drifting over to him curious. That seemed like a safe question to start with.

"Well..." Locke said thinking about it for a moment. "Blue was my favorite color for a while." he said, running his hand through his hair with a grin. "But I think I've grown to like yellow too." He added, smiling at her. "I mean, I loved the color blue for a while, it was one of the only parts of my appearance I liked." He said, mind taking him elsewhere. "Questions eh? Well now it's my turn. Um...So tell me, what are your parents like?" He inquired. He was wondering what kind of people raised Kiri, it might have been insightful to find out what they were like.
He turned another corridor with Kiri, and found that there were actually a few people here. It made sense since they were getting closer to the center of the school. There would only be more and more people, and now it would start getting embarrassing.
But why was he embarrassed? He liked her, so that should be all that mattered, right?

Blue and yellow that would be easy to remember seeing as those were some of her favorite colors as well. She liked basically all the colors except the ones that reminded her of bad things. Like black, crimson, and icky brownish green.
"I don't know or remember my father, he left when I was only a baby." Her voice held no sorrow for it was her father's choice to be free and her mother had raised her very well. "My mother is a lot like me but more calm, and very serene. We lived deep within fairy and since she wanted me to learn more than just how many eggs a robin laid she sent me to school. She is very beautiful, very wise, and I miss her very much."
Kiri's mother wasn't dead she just didn't know where she was. When she left for school her mother disappeared, and Kiri hadn't seen her since. Only a note telling Kiri that she loved her very much and that she was sorry for leaving her, but there was something she needed to do. That someday she'd see her again, but she didn't know when. Kiri waited and watched every day for a sign that her mother had returned but she was beginning to believe that day would never come.
Lost in thought she finally came to with a smile not wanting him to worry. People started becoming more and more dense as they walked and she beamed. Now everyone could see them together, how happy they were.
"My turn! What's a dream you have?" As they walked along Kiri spotted a boy she'd gone out with once and his jaw dropped at the sight of them. She ignored him and focused on Locke instead for he was the important one.

Locke was sorry he'd asked it when she answered. That was...so sad. Not having a father, and not seeing her mother because of her schooling? Locke thought he was lonely, not having any friends. But Kiri didn't even get to see her family when she wanted to. If the books he read were right, it wasn't easy for Fae to enter and leave their society if they didn't have noble rank. How sad.
He caught some of the stares as he moved down the hallway with her, increasingly becoming more and more uncomfortable. Maybe it was too early to show it off, maybe he should have objected to showing this much public affection in the school. Oh wait, question!
"My dream?" he echoed. "Well, I always wanted to become famous." Locke said, thinking it foolish. "Not like an actor or a singer or something like that, but as someone really knowledgeable and someone people would respect. I could finally show the people back home what a difference looks make. Absolutely nothing at all." He grinned, until he managed to pick up something.
Now, his ears weren't really more sensitive then any other humans, not on the range of pitches he could pick up anyway. But they were larger, which meant he could hear better, and he did pick out the whispers from the students as they walked past, something he was used to, but something he didn't want to subject Kiri to.
He heard one quite clearly.
"Look at that, I thought birds hated cats." Followed by muffled chuckles and jeers. Locke simply ignored them, it was what he'd done for the rest of his life, why would he change it now?
Why? Because there was a potentially violent love-sick Fae attached to him, and you did not want to see her mad. Locke hadn't considered that though. Nope, this was just business as usual.

"That sounds like a nice dream." Kiri smiled waiting for his question, but he didn't ask one. She frowned slightly wondering if it was just taking him a long time to think of one or if he was distracted by something.
"So...my biggest dream is to," her eyes were focused on his face bright and cheerful, "I know this isn't as amazing as your dream but..." This was really a silly dream but at least she had one, "I want to be a mom. You know someday. Like when I'm all grown up."
Smiling and walking along hand in hand she heard someone laughing. It made her glance around with a bright smile simply thinking that it was people being happy. She loved the sound of laughter. As she looked around though she saw a lot of people blatantly staring at them. That made her confused and when she was usually confused she asked Locke, but she had a feeling that this time it would be a bad idea.
"So since you didn't ask a question I will." She hmmed and mmmed as she thought touching her pointer finger to her chin as she thought trying to look funny. "If there was anything you could do what would it be?" Kiri almost jumped when she thought of the question and she half giggled after she said it. This was fun.
