Jessica Rey needed someone to do her homework.
See, that was the problem with selecting pretty girls that do your every whim as lackeys. They weren't exactly the most intelligent people at the Academy. Oh, they tried, and a couple even did fairly well. But, really, Jessica didn't want anyone smarter then her hanging around. Things would just get... ugly. And they'd defy her. Which was antithetical to her intent.
So Jessica had slutted up. Yes, you can turn that into a verb. Short mini-skirt, tight sleeveless halter, and her hair had been teased. The girl looked like sex come as a teenage girl.
And she was in the Edengrowth dormitories.
You see, she knew most of the Edengrowths were little nerdlings. A pout of the lips, a flick of her hair, and they'd be wrapped around her little finger. Heck, she might even kiss them, if she could find a nerdling cute enough. After all, she really could use a stellar grade on her latest project.
Now she just needed to find a cute pushover with brains.
Shouldn't be too hard.

Jon was just heading out to go visit Morgan. His plans included fishing for hints as to what she'd want from him for Christmas, and that was it. He was stressing - there weren't very many days until the holiday arrived, and so far he'd only managed to buy his family a t.v. that was just slightly better than the one they'd owned before.
This was what he was frowning about when he looked up and saw Jessica Rey. Confused, he tried to remember the name of the Edengrowth girl who clung to Jessica's shadow on a regular basis.
"Uh... she's not here," was the best he could manage.
Even though Jon was a teenage boy, and yes indeed had hormones, he didn't really have any physical attraction to Jessica at all. He was more a guy who could fall in love with a girl's personality. Jessica certainly wasn't lacking personality, Jon just didn't find that attractive. Hence why he didn't even notice that she looked any different than she normally did. Perhaps if she wasn't always glamourous and sparkly, he might have figured out she had purposely dressed like that as though using herself as bait.
It looked like Jon wouldn't be the only one fishing today.

Jon barely blipped on the radar.
For a few moments, Jessica wasn't even certain that anyone had spoken to her. She did turn to Jon, and frown slightly. Who was he again? He certainly looked familiar. And kind of cute, in an innocent way. Not exactly the type that Jessica usually angling for, but she was looking for a homework helper, not someone to start a relationship with.
"She?" repeated a puzzled Jessica. Her frowned deepened. Who was Jon referring to? No matter, she'd found her target, no reason to withdraw now.
Let's see, distraught and upset girl ought to work on him. He looked like the sort who fell for that, hook, line, and sinker. Jessica's lip well, and her eyes watered slightly.
"I was just... I have this project," she explained, already letting a tone of panic sink into the words, "and I just don't know what to do! It's all, so, so, so complicated and hard."
She heaved a great sigh, and eyes turning upward in "an attempt not to cry." In reality they flicked toward Jon, reading his reaction to her little act.

Jon was confused. So she wasn't looking for her friend? What was she doing here then? She just needed to vent? Sounded like it. But the kindhearted boy did feel for her. He might not know exactly what it felt like to be assigned a project that was too hard, but he could be empathetic to her situation.
"What class?" Jon asked, her crocodile tears like bullets to the heart. "I mean, what class is the project for?"
He'd do what he could to help. He was finished all his assignments, after all.

This looked like it was going to be one of those easy conquests. And it should be all kinds of fun for Jessica too. Morgan Cavan was one of those people who deserved to be taken down a few pegs every once in a while. Just because you had the name didn't mean you deserved it, after all. And what better way to shame someone then by stealing their boyfriend? The way rumors flew around this school, all Jessica would have to do is kiss Jon. Then just stir things up.
The girl swallowed a smile as she took a step closer to Jon, sniffing in an overly dramatic fashion. "It's that one really hard one... for history class."
Her history project was over... something. Jessica honestly couldn't remember, as she hadn't exactly done any work on it. She did remember what tutor Cavan had been wearing the other day... and it had been horrible.
"Can't you help me.... please?" Jessica pouted. "I could pay you..."
