Jon hurried into the classroom, muttering something about 'stupid Kenneth' while stuffing his cell phone back in his pocket. The moment it was tucked safely away, it went off again, the ringtone blaring the ever popular James Bond theme. Cringing, Jon walked right back out of the classroom, picked up the phone, yelled "SHUT UP!" in the most exasperated tone he'd ever used, and switched it to silent.
Shoving it back in his pocket (which glowed ominously five seconds later), Jon walked into class with a sheepish look on his face. He apologized to Kennedy with a half-smile, and took a quick look around until he found Morgan. He went and took a seat between Morgan and Noah, giving the boy a smile and the girl a kiss on the cheek. He didn't feel comfortable doing anything more forward with Morgan, what with Kennedy right there, even if he really felt like pulling her chair closer...
Talking with Kenneth must have boosted his 'manliness' some, because Jon was playing fantasies in his head that involved Morgan and stealing her away from the class, as well as finally giving up trying to be cool and just pulling her onto his lap.
Figures this mood would strike him at the most inappropriate times. Logging in, the first thing he did was open up a search database that far trumped Google in effectiveness, and then open up a fresh window in Word. Withdrawing his phone to see that he had 4 missed calls, he grimaced as it began glowing again. He wanted to listen to the music he had stored in the Music section, but if Ken kept calling him all he would hear was '...thought you were standing beside me, You were only in my way, You're wrong if you think that I'll be just like-' do do DO do do DO doo do doo do!
Sighing, he put the phone away and did what Chris had done; fished out his earphones and plug them into the computer. Then he opened up 'playlist.com' and searched for the music that helped him study.

Between Noah, Bishop and Jon, Morgan found it rather difficult to concentrate on getting her project together. She desperately wanted to avoid the whole thing, and just sneak off with one of her male friends. But unlike the rest of the class, Morgan couldn't avoid Kennedy very long. Besides, her brother was bound to notice, and she didn't relish the idea of a confrontation scene.
So she just waved and smiled at Noah as the cute boy was seated, Bishop got a wink and a "hey" in response, then she gave Jon a particularly longing look. As his phone kept ringing, Morgan arched her brows. Finally, she couldn't hold back her curiosity, and dove, trying to snatch the phone from her boyfriend's pocket. you see, anything was more interesting than pretending to research.
If Morgan managed to get ahold of the phone, she'd immediately check to see who was calling. Upon seeing "Kenneth," or whatever Jon assigned his best friend, she'd inevitably giggle. Should the phone ring again, Morgan would actually bother to answer it.
If she didn't get the phone immediately, she'd fight Jon for it, fighting off giggle the whole time.
At least class wouldn't be too boring.

Gyuh!
Jon jumped when Morgan reached into his pocket. When he looked down and saw that it was empty, he scowled playfully and rolled his eyes. Still in the mood to do something other than his project, he fought her back, reaching to snatch back the phone just as it began glowing for the fifth time since he'd entered the classroom. 'Dumbass' came up as the display name.
"It's Ken, just ignore him," Jon instructed, although he doubted Morgan would. They were causing more of a scene than Jessica and her cronies, and certainly making more noise, "if you give him an ounce of attention, he'll be calling us all class," but he was grinning, as though daring her to answer it. Kenneth would probably wind up turning Morgan off ever answering someone else's phone again. Ken had recently taken it upon himself to recite the entire dictionary to Jon over the phone, and he was already in the 'B's.
This is what happens when your friend graduates, does not have a job, and his girlfriend is still in school. Jon actually preferred Dorian's rare phone calls (phone name: 'Grey') as opposed to Ken's relentless chattering.
The glow of the phone seemed to becom more persistent, and Jon sighed.
"You're going to regret answering that," He promised, but he still couldn't wipe that smile off his face.

"Of course he will," agreed Morgan. She'd already flipped the phone open and was winking at her boyfriend. Like Jon, she too was smiling, and wasn't likely to start anytime soon, not if Kenneth remained true to form.
The youngest Cavan usually didn't enjoy phone calls. Basically anything that a normal girl should be absolutely thrilled about irritated and distracted Morgan. She did, however, enjoy talking with her friends, and Kenneth was always a hoot.
"Jon's phone!" she chirped into the mouthpiece. She shot Jon an even wider, mischievous grin. "He's in class right now, can I take a message?"
Yeah, like that would be enough to stave off Kenneth.

"Bi-... MORGAN!!!"
Ken laughed loudly, his familiar tenor booming from the earpiece.
"Wow, I definitely almost accidentally called you a bitch, I'm sorry! Can you tell Jon that bitches bite the bullet in Bithynia at a bit rate of a bittersweet bituminous bitumen bivalve please? Oh also, you, me, Jon, Kellan, Eiji, and Elliot all have to have a bivouac this spring! Is Elliot there? Pass me to Elliot!"
He was obviously having way too much fun with this. Jon had admitted that Kennedy was the tutor, so Ken wasn't too worried about getting his friends caught during class. He actually wanted to chat with Kennedy a little. Plus, Ken was giving the guy an opportunity to look cool in front of his class, instead of one of those ancient, no-nonsense teachers.
"Ellllllliooooot!"
His sing-song voice penetrated the classroom air.

Any other loud noise would of had Elliot crawling under her desk to avoid the persistent headache beating against her skull, but Kenneth Lorne was always all sorts of an exception, and his booming voice made her laugh out loud. She had been watching Jon and Morgan out of the corner of her eye with a small, bemused sort of smile. They were so cute, and anything was more interesting than schoolwork.
As the obnoxious boy called out for her, Elliot grinned, reaching behind Bishop so that Morgan could hand her the phone if she wished. Her eternal blue eyes flickered toward Kennedy, wondering what he thought of the whole ordeal, but it wasn't long before she found herself looking back to Morgan and Jon with a laugh clearly etched across her features.

Morgan could only roll her eyes as Kenneth went into a rant that could only be described as classic Kenneth. About five words in and Morgan was convinced that answering the phone had been the smartest move she was going to make all class.
"Hey, Jon," she shifted the phone, smirking at her boyfriend, "bitches bite the bullet in Bithynia at a bit rate of a bittersweet bituminous bitumen bivalve. And you need to steal Kenneth's dictionary, seriously."
She finished just in time for:
"Elliot!"
"Hey, you know," she said, holding the phone at arm's length, "he wants to talk to you El."
She stretched over Bishop, passing the torch to her partner in crime. "He's an idiot, but this beats the hell out of class."

"Oh, come on guys!" protested Kennedy. Of course he'd noticed the noise and clamor in the back. Kenneth, Morgan, and poor Jon had managed to cause more trouble then Jessica Rey, and that was saying something. Especially because those were the last people Kennedy wanted to reprimand in front of the class.
"We're in class now, remember?" he reminded them. His protests went unnoticed as Kenneth's voice rang throughout the classroom. Only Kenneth Lorne could manage to be that loud and obnoxious over a cellphone. Sighing, Kennedy started trudging over to the phone, making certain to buzz Jessica along the way.
"Okay, seriously, give me the phone," ordered Kennedy, employing his recently received Gift. Putting on his sternest look, he held his hand out expectantly. "And everyone needs to get back to--"
He never finished, because at that moment, his Gifts shifted, and suddenly... there was no more Kennedy.

"Wow, I have wonderful timing," mused Nate, staring at the spot where the tutor had been only a few moments before. Grinning, he sat in the closest seat, which happened to place him near Elliot, conveniently.
"Show up late for class and miss everything," he joked. His eyes went to the phone, and his brows shot up.
Oh this has to be an interesting story. And to think, I just walked in on it. Priceless.
Though you have to wonder how much authority Cavan has. After all, most of us knew him last year, as a student. Hell, that's his sister sitting there. It's not likely that we'd pay him a whole lot of attention.
Hm, I must have just saved the day, go figure.
"I'd wager Cavan will be back soon, I'd hurry if I were you," he offered, logging into a computer with a few strokes. Soon his blog appeared on screen, and Nate's fingers blurred across the keyboard.

Kennedy's warning had caused Elliot's smile to flicker for just a second, threatening to leave her as he finally began to step up and act like a teacher. Elliot was in absolutely no mood to study, or even pretend that she was, and therefore all the things she may have felt about Morgan's brother turned immediately into a dark, surly sort of dislike. Then Nate entered and bizarrely enough, saved the day, and caused Elliot to once again, think how much she positively adored the boy. Her smile returned and she finally plucked the cell phone from Morgan's hand, bringing it to her ear, but not before winking over at Nate.
"Ken!" She sounded madly grateful, the smile coming across in her greeting; Kenneth Lorne was, without fail, one her favorite people, and not to mention that he seemed to have impeccable timing.
"I miss you, what's up?"

They had entered the class with a much greater level of cheer than nearly anyone else, and Claire wouldn't have had it any other way. She clung to Chris, her arms wrapped securely around his neck as she pushed the door closed behind them with her foot, trying not to giggle to loudly in his ear as they headed for a pair of open computers. Claire grinned as she let him plop her down in a chair, always gentle and so attentive that it blew her mind sometimes. Scooting into the desk with his help, the girl dove into her pocket, fishing out her iPod shuffle and plugging the headphones into her ear before turning on her computer, still trying to decide if she actually felt like working or not.
The Black Keys kept her distracted and distanced enough that she missed most of the 'phone fiasco', but she turned to Chris and yanked out one of her ear buds, about to ask him something just as their teacher disappeared. Looking incredibly quizzical, but entertained nonetheless, she nudged Chris' leg with her own before speaking to nobody in particular.
"How far do you think we can get before he gets back?"

Post by Duke Bell. on Dec 21, 2008 13:36:47 GMT -5
Truthfully, he had been trying to sneak in a few z's. He was terribly tired; a combination of Chopin and cognac the night before had lead to his utter decimation in the morning. He was in no state to learn right then, if he ever was, but at least he tried all the other times. History was like a nail to his crown; a nuisance, but he didn't have the passion to avoid it entirely. Astutely ignoring the abomination that was Bishop, and all the stupid women-folk around him, Duke did his best to curb his annoyance. Rebel, right next to him, was a great sight to come to (;
"Rebel," he greeted, her name sounding sinful coming from him, "you look hot." The pink was unmistakable and so was his smirk, which made him look adorable considering his bed head. He noticed, and didn't care, shoving away the keyboard to properly rest his elbow there, so he could place his chin in his palm and stare at her admiringly. It had to be the accent, or maybe the hair, but whatever it was, it was totally doing it for him. "You should take off your clothes," he suggested, not for the first time.

Apparently something was going on in the back row that didn't involve Jessica. Normally she'd simply ignore the peons, let them squabble and coo at each other. But this time, Jessica had heard Kenneth, and that perked her interest. Turning, she looked back, eyes instantly going to Elliot, who happened to be holding the phone at the time.
There was also Morgan Cavan, a horrible tomboy and therefore beneath contempt; her whipped boyfriend; the ignoramus known as Noah; and a cute boy that Jessica didn't immediately recognize.
"What's going on back there?" she asked, looking to one of her subordinates.
"Umm, like, Kenneth called Jon on his phone," offered one of them.
Jessica glared her into silence, then focused her wrath back to the phone-holder. Davis. If there ever was a girl to inspire true jealousy in Jessica, it was Elliot Davis. Supposedly there was a model sister who was even more attractive, but as near as Jessica could tell, the girl was a myth. Davis was one of the few to match Jessica's level of attractiveness, and she'd managed to hook her claws into a name brand.
And now she was toying with Kenneth too?
"Oh that is so not cool," murmured Jessica, clenching and unclenching fists. Unfortunately, she couldn't think of anything to do immediately, and could only sit and wait.

Post by Kellan Grace Callahan on Dec 21, 2008 22:24:00 GMT -5
Kellan had told Kennedy before how weird it was for her to be in his class. She had skipped most of his classes when he was just a student teacher last year because it was just so strange to her, but now that he was an actual teacher and not just a student teacher, she knew it would be twice as weird. But Kellan did want to graduate this year, so skipping class to see if Angela wanted to go with her to find a new dress for New Year’s wasn’t an option.
She had arrived too late for the phone call and Kennedy’s unplanned departure, so she just figured that Kennedy was late. It was uncharacteristic of him, but not impossible. She did her best not to shoot Jessica the worst possible look as she plopped down into a seat next to Noah.
She had always liked the charming boy, even though that had only talked a few times. Every time she saw him, he always had the biggest smile on his face. How could you not enjoy being around someone like that?
“Hey, what are we doing? Where’s Kennedy?” she asked her fellow Cavanite.

Garion glanced around him at the giant and sudden crash of noise that came from behind him, and then the sudden dissapearence of the tutor, who really wasn't helping the situation, tho the chain reaction the noise was making throughout the rest of the student body. He looked around and realised he was completely alone, with at least two computers in all directions before another living thing could be seen. He sighed, and got back to work.
Adolf Hitler was perhaps one of the most well known "Deal with a Demon" cases that history has seen. Evidence has been provided that he did in fact make a deal with a demon for immortality. The demon in question was never found or identified, but most historians come to a consensus that he somehow found a way to banish the demon, and keep the granted immortality. The effect seemes to have worn off, as he was eventually killed, and the most logical conclusion is that there was an unforseen negative side effect to the action; however, that might not be the case.
