Angela grinned through her grimace at his proposal.
"I'd love to," She accepted, beaming up at him. And it made her smile even more when he admitted that he wouldn't last much longer than two dates. She might drag it to three, just so that when he couldn't take it anymore she'd know it was for real.
His question concerning Christmas gave her pause though. What was she doing for Christmas? Probably spending a quiet morning with her father, seeing as how he'd come back right before the holidays officially set in. He probably didn't want to admit he'd come for Christmas, and thought ahead so he'd be able to brush off any such accusations by pointing at the calendar.
"You want to spend Christmas together?" Angela asked, searching his green eyes for the answer before his lips revealed it. He'd asked was she wanted to do for Christmas, which suggested that it would include a he too. She purposely ignored the pain in her abdomen and decided it would go away with a couple advils so long as she paid it no mind now.
She was discussing holiday plans with the boyfriend. PMS would just have to wait.

Okay, so one date was set, now he had to set the more difficult one.
"Well, yeah, I do," he admitted, feeling awkward. Shouldn't that be a give-in by now? You don't spend one of the most important days of the year apart from the person who mattered most. "I mean, I wasn't sure what you wanted to do. My family's huge, so our Christmas gets messy sometimes. You and your date are definitely welcome though. More the merrier and all that. We could do two Christmases two or something..."
Clearly Kennedy wanted to spend Christmas with Angela, for some reason, besides what might have already been suggested. Now he just needed to figure out how to properly articulate such things.
"I mean, we're important to each other, right? You should spend Christmas with the ones you love...'

Angela smiled. She always wondered what it would be like, to have a loud Christmas. She could only remember one Christmas where it had been her, her mother, and Travis. It had been her favourite. She couldn't recall the gifts she got, she just knew that it was beautiful because their little family had been complete. Ever since her mother disappeared, Christmas, or any large holiday, never felt as whole as that one had.
"I know my father will want to have a Christmas with me... I'm not sure what he would say to you coming though..." she made a face that clearly said she'd love Kennedy to be there, but it probably wasn't a good idea. "I'd love to spend a Christmas with your family too. I really do want to meet the rest of them. But what do you say to spending actual Christmas together? Just you and me?" How romantic was that? Christmas with the family, then Christmas alone together. Her fingers were playing with his hair. They could wake up as late as they wanted, without worrying about having to open up presents until they were ready to roll out of bed. They could share a cup of hot chocolate and give each other their little gifts.
Angela sighed into his shirt. This Christmas would be beautiful...

Skip Christmas? It sounded good. Oh, did it ever sound good. Especially with the production that Cavan Christmases always were anymore. To avoid that mess and confusion...
Of course, it also meant abandoning Morgan to it, which bothered Kennedy slightly. But she got along better with the rest of the family than Kennedy ever would. Too many of his siblings still saw the rebel from a handful of years ago. It was what they wanted to see.
"So, spend Christmas Eve with the family, then take Christmas for ourselves?" asked Kennedy. He looked down at Angela, trying to see if he'd gotten it right. That sounded like the best solution, and one that would result in the least amount of grief.
"I can't miss Christmas with the family completely. There's too many of them, they'd find me eventually. and it wouldn't be pleasant when they did," Kennedy grimaced, but the expression was more comedic than anything. "But... spending Christmas just with you. That just sounds awesome. I vote we even get Morgan to dogsit."

When Kennedy said it, it sounded so much better. Angela would spend a day with her father, then they'd go and have Christmas with his family. Then she'd have him all to herself, no interruptions, Christmas day. She giggled while she swayed in front of him, hands on his waist. It almost looked like they were dancing, and they could have been, just staring at each other, twisting back and forth and moving from side to side.
"I wouldn't want your family hunting you down. And now that we're closer to your home, you hardly have an excuse not to visit. Plus..." she tapped his nose with a manicured finger, "I don't know how much you've been talking about me, but I'm sure they'll want to know who's hogging all your spare time. Maybe they'll understand a little more why you don't call that often," Angela was teasing. She didn't know if Kennedy frequently kept in touch with his family here or not. Angela rarely spoke with her father, and when she did it was constructive and brief. Angela actually spoke to Preston more often than Travis.
Sometimes she had to remind herself that her father really did love her. Sometimes it was even harder to believe herself.

Honestly, Kennedy had talked about Angela. Mostly because Morgan had already blabbed to every member of the family, and Kennedy felt obligated to provide actual facts to go with all the wonderful details that his sister so thoughtfully provided about his girlfriend. His favorite conversation still was the "you're not having sex with her, are you?" that he'd had around Thanksgiving.
Thanks Morgan.
"At least you'll get to meet Holly," added Kennedy, nodding, "and Desmond's not that bad. I know they'll love you."
Except for Mom, because she hates everything to do with her youngest two.
"So it's set then," another nod, "sounds like a wonderful Christmas. Now..." he gave her a squeeze and a kiss, "didn't you want to wash up?"
He took a few steps back, dragging her with him.
