Skye and Leo were driving in her yellow Fiat to meet Aaron in Wyoming. They'd already got lost once, as Skye turned out to be a terrible navigator. As much as Leo wanted to drive, he couldn't navigate and steer very well at the same time, so Skye took over the wheel and stuck him with the map during an unscheduled stop. They were already an hour late from the time she told Aaron she'd pick him up, and she would check her phone every five minutes.
However, despite all these setbacks, Skye was having a great time. Driving cross country with a cute boy who never ran out of things to say was even more pleasant than she thought it would be.
"Do you fight much?" Skye asked, holding up a 'threatening' fist and shaking it comically, "I hear boys with bicycles... sorry, motorcycles, fight often." She had to hold the steering wheel with two hands though, as a large truck passed her on the right side of the highway. She knew her driving irritated Leo, and sometimes she drove extra-slow just to get a reaction from him. But while she was conversing with him, her foot tended to lessen the pressure on the gas and the car wouldn't accelerate very quickly. In fact, the gauge needle would rapidly spin left as though she was hitting the breaks.
"Oops," She laughed and sped up, deciding it was probably best to set it on cruise until their turn-off. Which reminded her.
"Where do you say we get off the highway?" Her eyes narrowed as she examined a sign that was rapidly approaching.

Leo considered himself lucky he could be a patient man.
Because this girl was slowly driving him crazy. He hoped this Aaron kid they were picking up was a better navigator, because he was taking the wheel on the way back for sure. He was pretty sure he could find his way back to Washington anyway.
"Ah hah! I've gotten into a few scuffles, but that's not cause of the bike, that's cause of where I am from. The big city is a pretty crowded place. I just love my bike because she's fast, small and stylish." And she slowed down again. God this girl was like a sister who just loved teasing her sibling, it was so frustrating to be stuck shotgun when she drove, but she couldn't help the language barrier, kind of made it hard to read the words on the map.
"We're lookin fer exit....13, going north into Cheyenne. It's the capital, but it's still a small place. Where did ya say we were going to meet up with this Aaron kid again?"
Any conversation topic to keep his mind off of how slow they were going, this was insane and slow torture.
Key word being slow.

"I like small and stylish," Skye said with a wink to his description of his bike. She thought the same thing of her Fiat, and her wardrobe. She wondered if Leo liked his girls to be that; fast, small, and stylish. She was definitely the last two. Then she wondered why she was wondering if she was the kind of girl Leo would like. She already knew she was; he wouldn't have accompanied her if there was zero interest on his part. Plus, they'd been flirting for a solid... nine o'clock... three... well, her mathmatical skills weren't very good, but she knew they'd been stuck in the car for a long time.
"Exit thirteen," Skye repeated, nodding as she passed one of the exits. Their turn-off wouldn't come for another few miles. "Jackson," She tapped a completely random point on the map; Kansas. "We stop at donut store here, and then more gas here," She slid her finger up to South Dakota, "and meet Aaron here!" Suddenly her manicured nail was on top of New Mexico.
Skye giggled and stepped on the gas, flicking the radio on. All she got was static, and she fumbled with the dial searching for anything in their region. Suddenly she heard the very familiar tune that was actually the same as her ringtone. Skye turned the volume up and sang along in an adorably off-key voice, banging the steering wheel with the beat of the song. Leo could complain about the racket, but he'd be pleased to see the speedometer indicate an impressive acceleration.

Aaron sat, exhausted, on the side of the road. The stink of car was strong, as was the putrid stink of petroleum. The perversion of nature was everywhere, the human tendency to force nature to it's whims. He sat beside a billboard that displayed a fat man in a cowboy suit smiling and pointing towards his car dealership. "Deals Deals Deals!" hung ominously over Star's head.
As Star waited for Skye to show up and whisk him away, he struck up a conversation with the light.
Play? Play play play?
Aaron smiled. Some things would never change. Confident that no one would take time out of their busy lives or their eyes off the road to pay attention to him, he responded.
PLAY! WHEEEEEE!!!!
The sunlight around him brightened noticeably, then bent into stream. Aaron drew patterns in the air, laughing all the while.
Streaks of light danced and bent in the air, and the Faery was suddenly aware , with a uplifting and light feeling in his heart, that things would be okay.
