Dressed from head to toe dainty toes in cute winter wear Kiri was doing what any adorabel girls would do when it snows. Make a snow man. There was at least two lopsided balls formed and she was working on a third at the moment while singing about snow.
"Snow flakes on my tongue, tastes like winter's frosting. Different shapes, patterns all like lace!" Yes, it didn't rhyme but she was having fun. Dressed in a puffy white winter coat with fo-fur around the hood, white winter boots, and white mittens with more fo-fur around the wrists.
Kiri had gotten the winter gear from Rae's card and Angela had helped pick the entire outfit out, so of course she looked like a winter angel. Between a rock star's money and a model's eye it was easy to make the adorable girl into a winter wonderland vision.
She was forming the third ball when she noticed a lovely patch of untouched snow near her. Giggling ran over flopped onto her back and started making a snow angel.
"Angel in the snow! Making an angel in the snow. Oh, how I love making an angel in the snow!" Kiri moved her arms in the appropriate motion giggling as she enjoyed the snow.

Star walked out of the Cavan Dormitory Building with a sigh of relief. He had been cooped up too long inside finishing some stupid report, but now he was free for the rest of the day to do whatever he pleased.
Which meant he would spend the day outside.
The outside was surprisingly empty, and silent once the door opening into the rowdy atmosphere of the Cavanite was closed. While Star was no enemy of noise and rowdiness, peace and quiet was a welcome thought.
Aaron started at a brisk walk, allowing the chilly air to fill his lungs, leaving them with a slightly burning sensation, when he chanced upon another speck of life in the winter.
Star could tell the girl was cute, and although Aaron could not see any wings, he assumed the girl was Fae.
Aaron wasn't one for introductions, or interrupting important activities, so he just lay on the ground near the girl and started to make another snow angel.
Everyone knew that snow angels were social creatures, after all.

Rolling her head she spotted someone coming near and starting to make their own angel. She smiled sat up and waved always the overly friendly girl. "Hies!"
Normally she'd say more, a lot more for she was a large fan of talking far too much. But she'd been rather enthusiastic in the making of her snow angel and was slightly out of breath. Her entire backside covered in snow she stood and wiggled trying to get it off. In the wiggling she knocked her hood off to have her long blond curls fall around her.
"Burr! Cold!" Kiri giggled and walked a bit closer to the fellow angel maker. "My name's Kiri, Kiri HoneyWater, what's yours?"
Now that she was ready to be all talky. As she got close enough to really see the boy she grinned. "It was kind of lonely out here all by myself. Do you want to help me finish my snowman?"
Asking random boys to help build a snowman? Weird? Not for this fairy. Tucking a stray curl behind her pointed ear she made sure not to get to close in case she might ruin his angel.

Yes, this girl was definitely a Fae.
Aaron smiled at the little girl. "I'm Aaron Staar, but to get me to help you with your snowman, you have to call me Star, okay?" Aaron didn't even wait for an answer. He left his little guardian angel alone and walked over to the lopsided snowman.
Star made worked in exaggerated motions, inspecting the snowman really close, then moving back out again to cross his arms.
"What do you want me to do, chief?"

She gave a great big, bright smile and nodded vigorously. "Yes, of course, Star."
Kiri thought the nick name was cute and suited him very nicely. Such a handsome young man like him could pass as a movie star, so why not nick name him star? Watching him move about her not so well done snowman she covered her mouth to keep the giggles in.
"I can't lift the last ball to get it on top." She pointed at a ball off to the side. This round ball of snow made the bottom ball look sad in comparison. Having not wanted to finish her snowman so soon she just kept putting snow on the last bal. Then when it came time to put it on she couldn't lift it.
"Plus, it's not very straight, is it?" Kiri stepped forward to try and straighten the body and whomph! the ball promptly rolled off. Jaw open she dropped her arms and grinned sheepishly. "Oops."

Star tilted his head. "Well... Maybe the best thing for this snowman is to start a new one from scratch!" He made a snowball with his gloved hands. The snow was soft and compacted at the slightest touch, and Aaron had to laugh out loud.
"It's been a long time since I've touched snow, you know that?"
He started to gently roll the ball on the thick blanket of snow. He motioned for Kiri to help him.

She stood and watched as he formed a snowball and smiled slightly. After a sad glance at her broken snowman she shrugged and went over to help him out start a new one. Can't fix the old? Start a new. Good motto to live by. Smiling she scooped up some smow to pat another this new ball.
"I haven't touched any since last winter. When was your last time?" Kiri wasn't the biggest fan of the cold, but in order to play in the snow she had to deal with it. After building this snowman she'd have to go inside and sit by a fire for hours to get warm. It was nice to be outside having fun with someone. Locke had been so busy lately, but that was okay.
"All I keep thinking about is a hot cup of hot chocolate after this. I'm not used to be so cold!" She shivered and scooped up some more snow her face pink from the cold but smiling.

Star stopped rolling to pause and think.
"About three years, to be honest. I don't know why, I just never had the opportunity."
Star looked at Kiri. "Maybe I can help you... wait, let me check."
Star poked out at the light through his communications link. The noise received was tumulus.
[Yellow] Play Play Play Play Play?[/yellow]
Light was quite fickle, like a small child. Usually it was full of energy and playfulness, but occasionally it would become stubborn and not want to do anything.
Star directed the light to focus more on Kiri. He redirected the light that was already bouncing off the snow, so the light focusing on her should not melt any.
"How is that? Better?"

"Three years? That's a long time. I don't know if I could go that long without making a snow angel." Kiri mused twisting to look at the two snow angels. To not do that for years would be so depressing.
While Star fiddled with something Kiri focused on adding to the snow ball. She blew a stray strand of hair out of her face, but the slight breeze blew it right back into it. Eyes narrowing she pushed at it with her gloved at only to smear cold snow all over her face. Sputtering she took off her glove to tuck the hair back into place.
Not quite sure what he'd just done she looked on him her head tilted in question. All she knew was that more light was shining at her.
"Wow, how did you do that? It's like I have my own personal sun shining for me." Kiri giggled moving her hand in front of her face through the light. It certainly was a trick she'd never seen before.

Star nodded his head. "I didn't really have a choice... I was tied up."
Star was a little suprised at the question. Had Kiri never seen a sunlight Faery?
"I'm a Fae... aren't you? You should be warming up any time soon, light takes a little while to heat people up."
Star turned to the snowball, relishing in watching it grow bigger with every addition of snow it went through. Right now Star couldn't even remember why he hadn't played in the snow for a while, and now it seemed inexcusable.

She frowned thinking that he'd been forcefully kept away from the snow. As in if it snowed outside evil goblins tied him to a chair and taunted him. This thought made her very sad.
"I'm sorry...well now you can for as long as you want." Perking right up she smiled scopping up snow with both hands and tossing it into the air laughing. "Make up for lost time and all that."
"Oh! You're a fairy?" Her chinks tinged a bit from not noticing. Not the most observation girl in the bunch. "Yeah, I'm a fae. I'm one of those that talk to the furries, and other creatures."
Now that he explained somewhat the trick she sat in the light just waiting. Her hands in her lap she smiled when she noticed that her face wasn't nearly as numb and the shivering had decreased. With her own personal sun beam she could stay out much longer, and this pleased her greatly.
"That's amazing, I've never met anyone who could do that. I've met fae who can move the wind, but not light. Is it hard?" This boy and Mr. Karr had neat gifts, while all she did was talk to her animals. How hard was that? She didn't have to learn how to do anything all she had to do was open her mouth. Not wanting to look down she grabbed more snow to add to the building ball.

Star laughed loudly. "Indeed, I will have to make up for lost time. "
Star had to admit, he was a little in awe of Kiri right now. Talk to animals? And here he was, only able to speak with one thing, but this girl could tame a raging mountain lion, or call the birds to do her bidding... That would be a very useful aspect.
Aaron blushed somewhat, but it was hard to tell under his already frosty red cheeks.
"I would expect wind would be harder than light. After all, there's a lot of science to go with that." Star somewhat disapproved of science for taking the mystery and magic out of things.
"But light is very eager to play most of the time. Sometimes it'll sit there and pout, not wanting to move, but that's not very often."
"I would say your aspect was amazing instead. After all, what am I going to do if a bull comes after me? Blind it?"

Kiri was lost in forming the ball of snow and she'd even started humming again as she worked. It'd been awhile since she just played with someone not caring about anything. She played with her animals all the time but people were different they had hands. Unless she played with monkeys but there weren't many monkeys to be found.
"He seems, my friend, to have a good control over it." Kiri responded distractedly as she drew a smilely face into the ;arge snow ball. "I don't really know anything about it other than that it makes the leaves stir."
She hadn't spent all that much time with Mr. Karr lately, she'd have to go visit her godfather soon. Maybe have a tea party or something equally fun.
"Play? Well, then it's my kind of element! I love playing even if it is childish." The teenage fae girl grinned really appreciating the warmth that came with the light. "It's very useful, I'm finally warm."
When he said her talent was amazing she paused and stared at him, then giggled. "You could do that or distract him with bright red lights off to the side. That way he'd charge something other than you and not hurt him by blinding him."
Blinding might not hurt the bull but she was sure it would be offally unpleasant.

Now, that was sweet. It was almost as if Kiri was the very embodiment of innocence. She was worried the bull wouldn't get hurt! He smiled at her.
"Hey, if you Light to play, they'll be more than happy to!" Aaron focused really hard. Making light change colour was a lot harder to do than simply redirecting it, after all. He could only find a few specks that actually wanted to change colour without too much persuading (he didn't want to keep Kiri in the cold, after all).
Red, purple, orange and blue stars of light whirled around Kiri, like living things, prancing about and dancing around her.
Aaron actually had no real control over where the light was going... he sikply told them to 'play' with Kiri.

Kiri giggled and laughed as the various colors her hands hesitantly reaching for them. This was amazing! Again she laughed her attention on the snowball lost to the tiny lights. It was like multicolored fireflies.
"Star, this is amazing. They're like tiny fireflies, and you can keep me warm." The young fae really was in awe of this spectacle of his powers. His unique ability. Her eyes were bright her hands still reaching for the lights. "Amazing, truly amazing."
Getting an idea she scooped up a small amount of snow she tossed it lightly into the air watching the lights sparkle through the ice pieces. It was beautiful, colorful glitter in front of her.
