I may just be an idjit, but I have to ask anyway:
Do demons have 'gifts'?

another result of Matt expecting everyone to be able to read his mind.
okay, here's how it works: Humans have Gifts Faes have Aspects Demons have Traits.
The first is a specialized gift similar to a "mutant power" or some such thing, also like Heroes. It's a genetic abnormality.
The second is where the Fae are linked to an element of nature that closely represents them, and as a result they can communicate with it and ask it to do things for them.
The last is tricky. It's not really a Gift, per say, because that's a distinctly human thing. Demons have a certain "power" granted to them by the Legion working together in this world. That power usually manifests itself immediately, and is somewhat akin to a Gift. It is not a Gift though.
It's... tricky. and I'm really having a hard time explaining exactly what I have in mind here. Basically, a demon has something unique about them. A demon could, say, be a fire demon, in which case they'd have firelike traits. Or an ice demon. But this isn't just limited to elements. They could also be, say, a cat demon, which would grant them catlike traits. Or a demon of Illusion (if Trast were to transfer, this would be him) with abilities over illusion.
Okay, I think I've worked it out, sorry if this confuses everybody.
Think of demons as being like ancient gods. They're in charge of one specific thing, and they can handle that really, really, well. (but they don't grow, which is the downside of being a demon <.<)
does this make more sense now?

Is there a way to start with a fully-developed gift, or two gifts? Not really a personal question, just wondering.

Is there a way to start with a fully-developed gift, or two gifts? Not really a personal question, just wondering. maybe after we've been around for a while. We kinda decided that it would be unfair and a bad idea to start non-plot characters (and there's only about two or three of those) with higher than normal Gifts. We want to be fair, after all, and this is the only way to really do it. (again, open to suggestions)

Can fey fly in human form? Does energy control count as a fey ability? Any opposition to me testing out a new character in this account? Sophia's rp has my name all over it.

Fae can fly in "human form," but their wings are visible. Energy control does not count as a Fae ability. You could talk to, say, lightning or something. (has to be a part of nature, and I really don't see energy as being like that) gah, I hates multi chars in one account, but there's no problem with it, if you want to try it out.

Can any species have unnatural hair/eye color? Is it possible to have a faery or demon character who simply does not have a unique trait or ability?

Can any species have unnatural hair/eye color? Is it possible to have a faery or demon character who simply does not have a unique trait or ability? well, within reason. Gifted are essentially normal humans, so they wouldn't have unnatural hair or eye color without very good reason. said character would be considered "retarded" by other members of their species, but I've got no problem with it, as long as people are willing to deal with the stigma

Oh! I'm excited!
"Retarded" for not being able to do magic alone? Would they still have the same capabilities as other faeries/demons otherwise? Is it possible to develop an ability or trait very late, or have it surface very late?

It might be possible to develop the Aspect (Fae thing) later, because something might be blocking the reception between Faerie and element. The Trait? No. Same with Gifts. You're either born with it, or you're not. It's part of your genetic, cellular makeup. (whereas the Aspect is not)
