Ok, I think I understand (if I'm even correct at all in the assumption) why our Houses are different from say, HP and other fantasy boards, in how each house is distinct. Often times, even when creators change the House names to something else, it's pretty clear which is Hufflepuff and which is Slytherin, yes ?
So I see no distinction, and it may be because we're trying to stand as a solely original place (?)

I see the distinctions but I'd still like there to be more detail, even if it's just an extra 3 lines, if we're trying to keep things slim and retain people's attentions.
That's beside the point.
Can we have some more description and history to these Houses ?
Is that particular section under the care of a particular staff member, or is it a collaborative effort between few ?
If so, am I allowed a say ? And while I'm in the gist of demanding things, am I also allowed to provide 'on-location' images of the buildings and grounds ?

honestly, I hadn't gotten around to working the houses over yet. What we have is what Rob put together based on the little bit I gave him (which is really quite good, considering how little that was).
I have no objections to you fleshing them out a bit more. I selected various characters' names from WoM mostly for the fun of it, though I thought it also made sense, given the chars.
We, uh, only have one official staff member at the moment. I'm going to have to appoint a few more permanent people soon, as we're suddenly huge. o.o
We'll flesh out the Houses soon, and if you want to do it, go ahead. You've still got the temp powers.
(and yes, I really want images for the Academy and surrounding grounds. It just hasn't been done yet)

Thanks ! It wont be anything much, I actually doubt now, in the light of day, that anything particularly revealing could be added about the Houses. We could discuss it ? Get a better handle (or me get a better handle) on the history of the Houses.
They promise to be really interesting, and I'm curious !
Ok, I'll be free in a few days, so I'll start selecting and editing then

it's a group effort, as a lot of this stuff is. About the only thing i can take full credit for is the species thing. Even then, Lea (my sister) and I had developed some of those dragon things in ages past.

Can they just change their appearance as they see fit or must they copy an actual person?
Do they have to fully change or can they only change certain bits, like hair color?
How long can the shapeshifter be shape-shifted?
Can you shapeshift into the opposite sex? How does that work?

Do they have to fully change or can they only change certain bits, like hair color? How long can the shapeshifter be shape-shifted? Can you shapeshift into the opposite sex? How does that work? they can completely change their appearance to whatever they want, though it's easier to copy another person. fully change, the length, exactness, and ease goes up with evolutions. at first, not long, an hour or so tops. see above for more Yes, you can shapeshift into the opposite sex. I semi-explained this in a Casey post, but you literally shift your organs when shifting. If you were to shift into a female, you'd put female organs into place. This means that a shapeshifter would have to stay female if they wanted to get pregnant or something. We already have two shapeshifters though, which makes me wonder if I should consider locking that gift... |
