Spread out on a checkered blanket was all his best dishes. Cheese, brocoli, and rice with toasted bread crumbs on top, soutwestern salad, buttersweet rolls, seasoned and satayed vegatables, homemade french dip, homemade chips, and of course angel food cake with strawberries. Arms crossed behind his head he lay on the grass staring at the sky waiting for his girl friend to show up. A pitcher of fresh raspberry lemonade sat by him it's sweet tang scent making his stomach rumble. He hoped she got there soon. Otherwise he'd start eating all the food without her.
His eyes drifted closed and in the warm autumn sun with its chilly breeze added to it he began to fall asleep. It had taken him a while to prepare the food and set this up for her. All he had written on the note she left pinned to her door was simply:
My love, meet me by the lake. I have a surprise. Signed your loving, Eryk All he had to do now was await his beautiful lover and try not to fall asleep. Which was proving extremely hard, and before he knew it sleep had claimed him like a cat laying in the sun.

Cerridwen walked very slowly, enjoying the breeze for once. Work was work. She worked in town, floral shop, helping about and working on her magic even more. She enjoyed playing with her flowers, something she got to do more of these days. Things, slowly yet surely were starting to get back to normal and this made her ecstatic. She couldn't have been more happier.
Now Eryk...Eryk, her love her life, he had left her a very mysterious note. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. She had laughed at the note, how much it meant to her, and how she still felt her face flush when she read something like that. It had been over a year, longer then that even, almost two possibly and Cerridwen still couldn't help but feel her heart lift. Even better, he was almost back to normal, they were normal, nothing...no xavier, no father, just...Maelee...Minerva, Cal, and Eryk in her life keeping her sane. She had of course made friends since graduating school but that was a story for another day.
Today's story consisted of meeting Eryk by the lake. Almost there, just a few more minutes...and around a corner. Cerridwen was just totally out of the zone today, she just drifted along as if nothing was important, as if she didn't have an important date to get to.
"I love fall..." Cerridwen murmured to herself as she rounded the last corner to see Eryk...laying on the ground...almost asleep? Was her Eryk asleep? Smiling now, her familiar green eyes scanned over the surroundings. Ahh. So that's what he wanted to do hmm? Lunch by the lake. Sweet. So sweet he was. "Eryk..." She laughed taking off in a gallop to meet him. She came to a halt just at his head and looked down at him smiling, her hair over her shoulders hanging as she grinned down at him. "What would my Eryk be doing on such a beautiful day like this" She asked, simply grinning, something she couldn't help but just do.

"Someone with a lovely voice is talking to me..." he murmured half asleep on the grass. Shifting slightly he peeked open an eye at her with a cocky smile in place. "Why if it isn't Miss Flora Queen. How was work?"
Eryk untucked one of his arms and held out his hand for her to lay next to him the food could wait a bit longer. His stomach protested this but he wanted to know how her day had been. Today was his day off from the restaraunt, what they were going to do without him made him smile. He was the chief cook and usually worked a lot of hours but he enjoyed it. Often he brought home left overs from the day to give to Cerridwen, and her sister, and he of course gave some to his father and little sister. His father could not cook so Eryk did it for them.
"You smell like heaven." He mumbled inhaling her scent deeply his eyes flashed amber but then went back to their normal blue. Grinning at her he licked his lips and wiggled his eye brows jokingly.

"Ahhh I think flora queen is a bit much. Fiona is the flora dictator" She muttered rolling her eyes. Her lovely boss Fiona. Oh how lovely. Mmm how she just LOVED her boss. Not. The floral nazi as Cerridwen often called Fiona, was just...way to uptight, and just greedy, and hardly cared for the quality. "The floral nazi trapped with me with tapping wire again...I didn't even go near the different corsages today...because I had to tape wire and leather leaf..." Cerridwen muttered rolling her eyes. "It's not my fault I'm a fae and she isn't..." Cerridwen muttered and when she saw his hand she took it firmly.
Laying beside him now, Cerridwen curled in and as soon as her anger had come from the mention of floral nazi, it disappeared again. "Mmm...you know how to make everything better don't you..." She murmured into his neck before kissing it softly and waiting for a minute.
Her own belly grumbled as she could smell the food over in the distance. "Eryk...I don't know how long your going to be able to keep me down here..." Cerridwen muttered smiling now. "It smells to good...and as much as I love you...your food...well lets say I'm going to just...going to keep eating and eating till the point your going to have to roll me places" Cerridwen teased smiling turning to look into his eyes. She saw the flash of amber but ignored it.
It wasn't important. All that mattered was, Eryk was safe and happy. Lucky for Eryk, Cerridwen had even been working on coming to a truce with Rae. Oh the compromises the two had worked on.

He frowned at the mention of the flower nazi and sighed he kept telling Cerri to just open her own shop. Put that Fiona out of business and be done with it. But no, she was far too stubborn. Her nuzzling made his tension ease always the sucker for snuggling. Physical contact and him went together like cheese on rice. It probably had to do with being a lycan.
"I try to make things better, sometimes I make it worse. But today is just my day." When his eyes met hers he was glad that he'd stayed with her through all the crap they'd been through. Her next comment had him laughing though and he rolled over grabbing a buttery roll. Holding it out for her dangling it above her the butter glistening on the bread like heavenly delight.
"I made them fresh this morning and the butter was made just last night." Eryk taunted her wanting to scarf down the roll himself. But taunting her was more fun.

Cerridwen smiled slightly. "Well it does seem to be your day after all." Cerridwen agreed letting her head move to rest atop his shoulder as she laid silent for a minute. Another rumble from her belly, and she knew it was time to eat. Feeding time really. "You hear that rumble...now gimme gimme" She whined, though as she whined, the smile never left her face, hopefully that told him she was only kidding.
As she listened to him laugh, she shrugged. "I'm serious Eryk...I want food" She smiled slightly, though growing only slightly agitated. He knew she was hungry...and he knew she loved and craved his food. He was the best cook...ever...in her entire existence and yet he still taunted her. Exactly what he was doing right now. As he held the buttery roll over her head, she felt her eyes glaze over in anticipation. So...so...so close. The roll was just a few inches away, if she just reached her neck up, as she did this, she realized it was still to far...noooooo!
All was lost. She couldn't reach it. Alright time for plan B.
Reaching up with her hands she made a snatch at the roll, hoping to grab it from him, and hopefully stuff it into her mouth and never give it back. That was how they worked..him and her, they were just amazing like that. "How was your day though..hmm" She questioned still eying the roll with interest as he first attempt at snatching it failed.

Eryk continued to laugh as she tried for the roll but he of course jerked it away. He opened his mouth and motioned for her to do the same and he lowered the roll down slowly waiting for her to either grab it or bite it.
"Open up, princess." Once she chose to do either of those he let go and went over to the food. "I'll make us some plates." He plopped on lots of his rice dish, and tons of his salad onto two plates. Scooting the chips and dip closer to her as he did so that way she had something to tide her over until the plates were presentable. After that he moved back over to her holding out her plate a roll in his mouth. Eryk sat down chewing on his roll his plate in his lap.
"Oh, man I kneeded them too much. I knew it. Blast it!" Eryk frowned at his roll though it was very tasty he could tell that he'd kneeded it a little too much. A little worried about his rice dish having put new cheeses into it this time around he took a cautious bite. Almost moaning he smiled at Cerridwen the rice was still hot from the hot plate and the cheeses just melted on his tongue.
'You better try the rice before I eat it all." He teased as he began to shove food rapidly into his mouth to his gurgling stomach.

Cerridwen took the roll greatly as he put it in her mouth. To her the roll tasted fantastic. She couldn't tell anything was wrong with it, in fact she had thought it tasted so good nothing could compare. Simply nothing. She was easy to please though, as long as it was edible and tasted decent she was more then happy.
She was like Eryk's father, she couldn't cook at all, if she tried she would hurt herself and most likely someone around her, and that was simply why she relied on him to feed her. She was helpless, honestly, how pathetic, relying on your boyfriend to feed you. Simply sad. "Eryk you spoil me...honestly. You make all this food, and you know I'll eat all of it, and then ...I'll complain about how my stomach hurts because you fed me to much, and it's a never ending cycle" She said in a matter of fact tone. She was just that simple.
Watching him, and the food, Cerridwen couldn't take it.
"Okay...now your killing me" She murmured reaching over taking the beautiful plate, filled with even more beautiful food that simple seemed...to beautiful to eat. Ha to bad she didn't live that way. Taking a fork she shoveled the food into her mouth. So. Good.
"So...amazing" She Cerridwen said between mouthfuls. She had been starving and now..she was...well almost dead from no food, and here was this amazing meal...she had to honestly find some way to thank him eventually. Eating for a few minutes in silents, she finally slowed down and looked up sheepishly. "Sorry..." Cerridwen murmured and sighed smiling. "IT was...just to amazing" She agreed.
It had been hot, burned her tongue slightly but no biggie. "So...any plans we have for the night...or are we just hanging out?" Cerridwen questioned now taking a sip of water.

Eryk smiled enjoying the fact that he could make her happy simply by cooking her a meal. He loved doing things like this and he had to use up the good weather before winter set in. Setting aside his plate he watched her finish eating him never having fully regained his appetite back from going over the edge. Mostly he just enjoyed watching other people eat.
"I don't mind. I love cooking and I love watching your face when you eat it. So I win both ways." Eryk smiled leaning back on his hands his eyes drifting to the clouding over sky. Good thing she'd gotten there in time it looked like rain. Dazed out he finally come back to earth at her last question. He had to watch it with the dazing didn't want her to think he was going to have a relapse. It had been a hard time getting back to normal.
"I have to watch Mae-Mae tonight, Cael has his first date since mom died." Eryk no longer really called his father father, or dad it was Cael when he spoke. He also knew that Cerri loved spending time with Mae-Mae.
"She is having problems with braiding her hair and was hoping you could teach her. Oh, and guess what? Our little Mae has a boy who follows her everywhere! It's adorable." Laughing he pulled over the angel food fruit cake cutting a small slice for himself and a large slice for her. He scooped extra strawberries onto her plate with a teasing smile.

Cerridwen watched as she munched on her rice. "You love watching me eat? What I make funny facial expressions or something?" She asked laughing slightly and now being more then paranoid as she ate a few more bites before pushing the plate away and laying back on her back. Cerridwen pat her belly and groaned softly. "Your going to make me fat and then we'll have to roll me everywhere because I will not be able to walk or move or anything" She accused clearly teasing from the smile on her face. "Look! It's already beginning!" Cerridwen laughed as she put a hand to her stomach. "It growwsss and then I won't be able to walk! Ah the horror! Or fly for that matter" Cerridwen filled in as she laid up and stared at the darkening sky.
"Babe...it looks like it's going to rain..." Cerridwen murmured unsure and sat up now leaning like him back on the palms of her hands.
She was wearing her work jeans and a nice green loose fitting top. As Eryk mentioned 'Mae-Mae' Cerridwen grinned excited. "Yay. We get to babysit her..." Cerridwen nodded. "That's good. I wanna hang out with the kiddo. I miss her, I haven't seen her very much this week, I've been wokring, and she knows of course I'd teach her" Cerridwen rolled her eyes. "She needs to not ask, just come to me and demand." Cerridwen smiled "I would bow down to that child" Cerridwen teased. "She's just so damn cute..." She trailed off once more eying the oncoming black cloud.
"We can...I don't know we can figure something to do..and that's good your dad...finally..er dating" Cerridwen wouldn't admit to him that she found it scary, that he would have found a woman to actually go NEAR him..Cael was scary as hell in Cerridwen's opinion. "And maybe...after Mae goes to bed...we can have some time to us..." Cerridwen grinned moving ever closer. "We can play our own game..." Cerridwen's eyes flashed amusement as she went back to laying in the grass.

He listened to her while cutting up the cake and set her slice near her and started in on his own. Crossing his legs he licked his lips to get the extra strawberry sauce off before answering her.
"Yep, looks like rain." Even though they both admitted it looked like rain he wasn't about to pack up. He happened to enjoy the rain even though it didn't hold some of the more chipper memories in his life. Nodding along with her assesment of Mae he chewed slowly evaluating the sauce and quality of the strawberries. Needed less sugar and let the strawberies sweeten it naturally it was far too sweet. Course he wasn't all that big on sweets. Eryk knew she didn't like his father, and neither did he but he still cared about him as a son should.
"Yeah, she's some older fae, he said that your sister might know her. Old fae knight or something like that." He mumbled around his last bite which he almost choked on with her next comment. Coughing Eryk blushed profusely gulping he set his plate aside to stare at her then breathed normally again as she moved away to lay on the grass again. He licked his lips nervously then turned to start picking up the food. Being the boy he could not just stare at his girl friend lay on the grass after a comment like that. Not and just sit there that is.
"Um, yeah, uh we could. So are you going to eat your cake?" Back to her he started loading everything into the large wicker basket. Sometimes he wondered who had the bigger sex drive him and his werewolf self or her and her fairy sexiness.

Cerridwen loved rain, adored it, she loved dancing in it, playing in it, she remember when her and Mae Lee had gone swinging in it, they had, had so much fun, and at the time it had taken her mind off Eryk, who had been resting in her bed on his very own death bed. How that had been a horrid time in her life. Everything was better now. They were better, they were closer, more open, and she was well happy. She had her bad days, everyone did, but not nearly as bad, she had her work, she wasn't in school, the stress of school was gone, she worked, now with Fiona, AKA the floral Nazi, but it was all okay because she wouldn't let that woman get to her. No way in hell.
Cerridwen smiled. "Dance with me if it rains then yeah?" She asked getting up now stretching as she finished off the last bite she had taken and swallowed it, letting the mush fall down the soft pallet of her throat. It would rain. If she had to some how make it rain, she would damn well find out and do it.
Looking to him attentively, Cerridwen nodded. "Yeah...some older Fae huh? Maybe we'll get lucky and it's like...one of those horrid Fae ladies who get on my case about Minerva's and Cal's Dragon when we watch it.." Cerridwen muttered as she thought about the pet dragon. She laughed slightly and ran a hand through her hair. A slick drop fell on her shoulder and she lifted a hand to touch the drop resting. She broke the drop and looked to him.
Grinning though at her comment, she watched his reactions. Eryk was to funny sometimes. That's why she loved him so. "I ate my cake..and now I'm ready for you" She teased feeling another couple of drops fall onto her shoulders and revealed back. Curses an open back shirt. "Anyways, I have serious plans after Mae Lee goes to bed" Cerridwen grinned sitting now beside him. Clearly she was only half serious, if they got to it later that night or not it didn't matter, all that mattered was spending her precious limited time with him.

"Dance? Hmm, nope no dancing." Eryk said lightly waving his fork in the air as he did so. "I will only dance with you on one condition." He wasn't going to just announce that condition she was going to have to drag it out of him. That was all part of the fun. Grinning impishly he continued to wave his fork in the air as he thought up his condition. It had to be something she would do but after some taunting or something. Something that he would enjoy...His mind instantly went to the gutter.
"So! Yes! My father!" Talking about his father helped take his mind off such dirty thought imensely. "I have actually heard amazing things about her from Mae. She says that the woman is so opposite my father it's and I quote 'Like watching one of those black and white films. Da is the black and Sylvi is the white' " He placed his dishes into the basket as he said this before looking at her.
"Sylvi's name is acutally Sylvia Thorne or something like that." Her teasing made him blush even more almost making him drop the rest of the cake as he put it away. Gulping loudly he coughed and put the food away faster. Forget about after Mae went to bed they had at least six hours before his father's date. And at least three hours before Mae came home from school.
"Love, mind if we go back to my house early?" Okay, he needed a reason. "So...I...can...drop this stuff off! We have to be there when Mae gets home anyway so we can take her to your place...so...can we?" His true intentions were much more selfish and much, much more naughty but she didn't need to know that...yet.

Cerridwen eyed him. She didn't trust him "Why? You've never made me do something under one condition before..." Cerridwen muttered eying him once more as she put her hands on her hips and then shook her head. "Tell me this supposed condition then" She asked as Cerridwen moved to sit by him and slip her arms around his shoulders pulling him closer, so she could kiss his head softly.
"Come on you won't be mean to me like tis..." Cerridwen cooed softly as she moved her hand to stroke his hair softly.
She was about to get dirty when he started talking about his father, damn him. Damn. Damn. Damn. Talk about his father? Switch the subjects? That was a low blow.
Cerridwen sighed nodding as she agreed "Yeah, well let's hope Sylvia will convince your father to lay off me. He's hated me since the day we met." She muttered "Honestly, why does he hate me so much?" She asked, she wasn't afraid of Eryk's father, she just...was paranoid. Why did he hate her? Did she do something to honestly offend him? She wasn't sure what. She had after all saved his son, what else could he hate her for? Saving his only son? That was NOT something to hate her for.
Cerridwen jumped at the chance to go home early. Gave them some time to figure things out, what were they going to do with Mae Lee that night anyways? Hmm...she thought about it. "Maybe we could...show her our new...I mean my new House" She teased slightly. She said it was hers, but deep down they knew it was their's together. "She hasn't seen that yet, we've been keeping it a secret remember?" Cerridwen laughed "It's been driving her crazy" Cerridwen informed letting go of Eryk now and kissing him on the lips and standing once more as rain started dropping down in no special form. Just rain falling.
"Which reminds me...I have a surprise for you..." Cerridwen trailed of mysteriously, a secretive smile upon her lips now. "Maybe you can convince me t tell you..." Cerridwen suggested as she shrugged and ran a hand through her black soft hair. "But lets get going...before Mae Lee gets home...even though we have three hours" Cerridwen rolled her eyes.

As her arms slipped around him he smile turned a little darker than usual his hands emptying quickly and slipped around her. "The condition?" Rats, he hadn't thought of one yet.
"The condition is that...you...have...to..." Laughing he whispered into her ear, "teeth." It was the only hint he was going to give her. Then he started talking about his father some more.
"Yes, well. You will be able to judge for yourself when you meet the woman tonight." He kissed her cheek as she ranted about his father. "I don't know why, love. He tends to hate a lot of people for no reason." More than once his father and Eryk had fought over Cerridwen, but he'd never told Cerri that. Because Eryk was still determined to ask her to marry him at the right time. Cael however was refusing to give Eryk the ring until he believed his son was ready. Even though Eryk was eighteen now, Cael's excuse was that he wanted Eryk to wait for them to be secure in the world. Eryk wanted the dang ring on her finger already.
He listened to her suggestion and nodded. "That sounds like a good idea. It'll be some excercise so she might want to go to bed early." Winking at her he smiled and kissed her back watching her in the rain. He dumped everything else into the basket not caring if the food spilled, and jumped to his feet.
"How bout we stop talking about my fami-Wait Surprise? " His voice faded into a whisper as he wrapped an arm around her his other hand slipping into her now slightly wet raven hair. "I might have a few ways to convince you to tell me but I'll have to stop talking to to it..." Eryk pressed his lips against hers pressing her close to him the rain cooling his burning skin.
