The Academy had two new arrivals.
Normally this wouldn't be that big of an issue. After all, they got new arrivals nearly every day. In fact, that was more or less business as usual around the Academy.
This time, however, was different.
Two large, green dragons were stomping around the Academy grounds. One with massive horns, curled like a ram's, stomped through the gardens, tearing up vegetation and tossing it about. His clawed footsteps left huge gashes in the soil as he charged. The other, slightly smaller, with much tinier horns, literally rolled across the front lawn. It went end over end, its back spines driving great gouges in the dirt with each motion. Every once in a while it would crazy into a building or a pillar, and get up, looking quite startled. It would then fall back down, and continue rolling.
Alarms had sounded, alerting the residents of the "attack." Task forces were already assembling, and there were a few people who were gawking.
The dragons simply continued to romp and plow through the grounds, as if they owned the place.

The war dragon sat on the pleasant green grass, the cool air pleasing to his skin, eating the greatest thing Americans ever made. A bucket of fried chicken. Legs stretched out in front of him his back against the academy's walls he watched the dragon's romp about. It was nastalgic for him to watch these young ones romp about playing in the academy's back yard. He didn't see why everyone was panicking. They were just playing. Frolicking, exercising, recreation. Nothing wrong with children at play, but apperently there was when dragon's played.
Students were screaming and running from the destructive duo, and once the tumbling dragon got rather close to him. He growled loudly and the dragon rolled away. So he sat there enjoying his bucket of fried chicken watching the two dragons destroy the grounds. The dragon also had an inkling he should be doing something to stop them. Cease, desist, discontinue. But for one he hadn't been instructed to so why put forth the effort. Two it was entertaining and hardly anything entertained him anymore. So like a dinner and a show he waited for his peon partner to find him.

What a chance! He could see a dragon up close! There was no better chance to observe them then right now, with so many agents around! Why, he'd never be any safer observing dragons like this in his life, so he couldn't miss it.
He ran out onto the grounds as soon as he heard what was happening. And he stared up at the creatures in wonderment. This was something amazing, they could tear up the ground and hold such power without even trying, truly mighty creatures.
He just watched, and memorized, with a sense of complete awe.

Alarms were never good things. Generally they were the times when people died. Or got injured. Bad things.
Casey would have arrived on the scene much faster. But he'd been busy gathering up various individuals to help. Which meant that he'd spent a good deal of time trying to find a fellow agent. At last he'd given up, and simply headed for the outside.
He nearly ran into a gawking student. Casey paused for a moment, noting the blue hair and cat ears, which didn't phase the shapeshifting agent. "You need to get inside."
For a few moments Casey thought about dragging the young man inside. But that was supposed to be the job of the tutors, while Casey got to go and face....
What exactly was the issue?
Casey followed the stare of the blue-haired student, taking in the two romping dragons.
"Oh, that's just," he waved a hand at them, then smacked his forehead in frustration, "that's just great. How are we supposed to...?"
He turned, noticing who he'd been looking for. "Hey! Hey!"
Casey started for Scythe.

Doragon walked outside when he heard some bell ringing in his ears. People were running all over the place, most likely due to the two large lizards on the castle grounds.
"This place keeps getting weirder and weirder, how're you supposed to keep animals like them in a barn? I haven't been here that long and there's an emergency. I reckon somebody should haul them creatures in."
Doragon stayed closer to the buildings since he didn't even know what those creatures were.

The dragons, being unchecked, continued in their merry romp. One of them stopped, looking around for a bit.
"Dude, munchies," he murmured. Of course, this was a dragon murmur, which was a bit louder than it should be. The dragon sniffed the air a few times, then began heading for the section of the Academy that held the dormitories.
Specifically the Wingrose dorm. Even more specifically, the female dorm.
The other one continued to roll end over end. He eventually slammed into the building, fairly close to where Locke happened to be. He pushed off, steadying himself. Grinning, the dragon bounded toward the garden.
He might have stepped on a person or two, it was hard to say.
Eventually the dragon returned to the garden, and began pulling up trees... and eating them. He sat there, munching on the end of a tree and looking around, his eyes wide.

Locke was watching the dragons with wonderment. He was totally enraptured by them, then one of them spoke. Munchies? Food? Hey wait, were they here to...?
The light went on in Locke's head almost immediately. This was dangerous. But luckily the dragons started meandering away, well one of them. The other slammed into the building he was by, and Locke jumped back in fear.
Just then, he noticed where the other one had been walking towards. Initially he hadn't worried about it, but then he looked over in that direction and saw a small area with a series of balconies outside of draped windows. Lovely bright colors mostly. Oh god. He turned white as a sheet.
"Kiri." He said barely over a whisper, and with not even a though one way or another his feet sprang into action. He ran, as fast as his legs would carry him, into the school, which proved difficult thanks to the crowds of people running out to see what was going on. Little Locke was getting pushed back more then he was advancing forward.
"Move! I have to get to her! Get out of my...I SAID MOVE!" He shouted, a small field of electric force coming around him. It wasn't strong enough to push people away, but every animal moved away from pain, so it allowed him to force his way through the crowd.
He'd worry about controlling this new power later, now he wasn't even thinking. He was running on pure adrenaline. He'd been to Wingrose dorm many a time, but this time seemed much longer then normal.
I gotta move, if he gets there...before I do...
He didn't finish that thought and just ran faster.

Dragons romping and maybe stepping on people was never a good thing. This whole thing was just one horrible, godawful mess. Casey yelled, waving his arms, desperately trying to get people to leave the general area. Some had trouble moving, and Casey had to actually shove a few.
"Scythe!" he yelled, turning. He pointed at the dragon who was still in the vicinity. "Can't you fight that thing?"
Scythe was supposed to be an incredible bada**; after all, that's what they hired him for. So shouldn't he be attacking instead of...
was that fried chicken?
Casey took a few steps closer, peering at the chicken. "What are you-- why are you-- that's!"
he threw up his hands in frustration, turning...
just as the dragon did.
"F**k," Casey managed to get out, right before the tail caught him across the torso, flinging him across the Academy grounds, to slam into the paved wall.

"I thought you said we'd have to defend the school! It looks like you're just getting smacked around, if you ask me."
A normal person's first instinct might be to ask if he's alright.
Odji hadn't stayed off Fey's neck long; he never did. The former relic hunter would, without fail, become bored and lonely very quickly and put Odji back on again, usually within the hour. But this time had lasted significantly longer, and it happened pretty rarely to begin with, so Odji had been behaving relatively well since Fey last saw Casey, lest he be put in some drawer to collect dust. He'd never admit it, but he liked being around Fey, and he liked seeing the world.
Fey kept her eyes on the dragons in case they came too close, but her hand was held out to Casey, who she was assuming would just get up. She'd never seen the man stay down in the past, why should this be any different?
"So what exactly am I supposed to do? I didn't bring any weapons here. Are we even supposed to kill them? They're kind of pretty."
Getting attached to the dragons probably isn't such a good idea. I think one of them may have just stepped on a person.
"Oh hush. You're more evil than a dragon any day. Well, not any day, since you've been locked in that pendant for a lot of days now, but any day you were free, that's for sure."
And don't you forget it.
She resisted the urge to poke Casey with her foot.

Tutors keep everyone safe eh? Well he could do that!
Standing by the doors Karmine was busy waving people out of the Academy, trying to keep the chaos to a minimum. Well, he liked chaos, but now it would just get people hurt. He did notice the young demon boy go flying past him, and made an attempt to stop him. But all too quickly the boy vanished into the crowd. What had been so important that he had to go in there?
He shrugged, boys would be boys, and there was nothing he could do for him now.
It was then that he noticed the only agent that had bothered to show up get swatted away like a mosquito. He was probably dead.
"Ai yai yai..." Karmine said slapping his head, didn't anyone know how to fight a dragon here? Well, he wasn't about to fight it alone, that would be stupid, plus he had to wait till the school was evacuated, which looked like it was going to take a while. They hadn't even gotten word to the dorms yet!
He hoped someone capable showed up soon enough.

Protect the students.
Like Kennedy Cavan needed to be told that. He rushed through the halls, moving as quickly as he was able. It proved slightly difficult for him: his Gifts shifted every few steps. This meant that people made way for him, but also made traveling difficult. At least he picked up speed and phasing at one point, and you truly couldn't move faster.
Kennedy managed to see and avoid most of the people running in the opposite direction. But one in particular caught his eye.
"Why is Locke parting the crowd?" Kennedy wondered aloud. He made a beeline for the super-intelligent Edengrowth, cursing as he went. Once he got within a few feet, he began calling.
"Locke! What the hell are you doing? What the hell is going on here?"
Hopefully he found out quick enough to help...

Locke was somewhat aware of Kennedy calling him, and he thought he should respond. After all confusion should be avoided at all costs.
"Gotta get there before them!" He shouted. Now in his mind that had been a concise and clear explanation of what had happened and what might happen if he didn't move quickly. But of course there was no way Kennedy was going to understand it.
Not like Locke registered that possibility, there was too much going on at once for him to worry about anyone else except one person right now.
And that would be why he was running full speed towards the Wingrose dorms, which became more and more obvious with every step.

Post by zeth on Dec 11, 2008 19:59:42 GMT -5
Zeth had been in the building one of the dragons had rolled into. More specifically, walking down the stairs.
Toppling head over heels over the last few steps and landing on the floor, Zeth mumbled a slight curse and stood up slowly, luckily not injured other than a few scrapes. He had thought the drunk dragons were farther away than this, and walked over to a nearby window that had shattered from the impact. Peering outside, he watched the dragon chew away at a tree outside. Zeth's brain then started up an idea. Crazy, but smart.
Zeth ran over to the exit closest to the dragon and gathered his focus with a deep breath. He didn't know how far he could stretch his gift or how much of something he could change the state of, but it was time to find out. About 15 meters from the dragon, who was thankfully looking away at the moment, Zeth laid his hands on the ground and started the equations in his head, trying to turn the ground underneath the dragon into mud pit. I hope this works....

"Hey!" Kennedy called, trying to reach for Locke. He could tell where the Edengrowth was headed, that much was quite obvious. Not like Kennedy wouldn't know his way to the Wingrose dorms. But he couldn't immediately see a point in doing so.
Get there before them? Before who?
Kennedy quickly tried to piece together what little he knew. From the sounds of things, someone or something had invaded, and was heading for the Wingrose dorm. As brave as Locke was, he probably didn't have the firepower to handle a dragon. Shocking and memorizing were all well and good, but hardly of the right caliber.
Kennedy, on the other hand...
"I'm right behind you!" he yelled. He began following Locke. "And I hope you've got some kind of plan! I'll help, and with the right combo I can take just about anything."
Flight, super-strength, and regeneration. Official superman, and usually enough to deal with about anything shy of vampires. And with the sun out, Kennedy doubted they'd have to worry about those.

The important thing now was to think rationally. Sure he would like someone strong like Kennedy coming with him, in case things went sour, but Locke understood numbers, averages and ratios, and right now they couldn't afford to have both of them being selfish.
"You need!" He shouted backwards, while trying to maintain forward momentum. "To get people out! It's your job! Leave the one to me, you worry about the hundreds!"
He knew it was foolish to have two people do the same job, especially when Kennedy could do so much more helping the other students, and directing his house. Locke was acting reckless and foolish, but that was no reason for everyone else to.
"We need...to split up! Cover more ground, help more people! You know it's the right thing to do!"
Hitting someone as 'brave' as Kennedy with the 'right thing to do' was a low blow, but even though Locke needed his help, even though he wanted it...
If you viewed it as the numbers...they could save more people by splitting up...so that is what they should do.
