It had been a few days now since he'd tried to meet his brother at Central Park and still no word from him. He was beginning to wonder if the letter had come from Jeremy at all. He sat leaning against his dorm room's door frame with Ruby asleep in his lap. Head back and eyes staring into the empty dark hallway he wondered why no one else seemed to have problems sleeping at night. The moon lit up his room well enough that he hadn't bothered with turning on a light. His eye patch lay forgotten on his bedside table along side the letter, and a book he'd tried to read to get to sleep. It having failed he'd moved to sit in the doorway listening to his music blaring in his ears from his headphones.
Ruby yawned and stretched her tiny paws into his stomach her tail curling around her body. Usually flying squirrels were nocturnal creatures but she'd been sleeping odd hours as of late since he'd disappeared for two days. His teachers hadn't even noticed or cared that he'd been gone, so much for being watched over. If he'd gotten mugged and killed no one would have noticed or cared. It was awesome. He smiled to himself rubbing underneath the rodent's small chin with his finger. It was a lie he would've been missed and he had been, by his little Ruby.
Sighing he stretched out his legs pushing against the door frame with his bare feet about a foot off the ground. It was a bit warm sitting there with his bedroom window flowing in the hot night air, but he didn't mind. He liked being warm though the humidity made him feel a bit sticky. Feeling a tug on his dark blue tee shirt he glanced down finding Ruby gnawing on the fabric her big eyes staring up at him innocently. "Hey, let go. It's one of my favorite sleeping shirts." He tugged at her gently trying to remove her teeth from section of the shirt covered with white stars. when she finally let go she scrambled up his chest to curl up on his shoulder.
"Yeah, yeah I know I disappeared. I'm sorry, but I couldn't take you with me." She bit his ear sending a sharp pain through his head. He winced but she let go quickly nuzzling his neck. "Okay, next time I promise to take you with." Grinning he reached up to scoop her down and into his lap again. He turned his gaze back out to the hallway almost wishing for someone to walk down it so he wouldn't be so alone. Surely there were other people up at this hour. He couldn't be the only teenager that believe in staying up late even if it was close to two am.
Since no one was around he started singing along with his music softly his smooth voice filling the silence. Ruby yawned again her pink tongue making him smile as he sang:
"Let down your guard And show me your colours Don't fight it anymore Show me you're with me Open your arms I'm not like the others So don't fight it anymore no What will it take for me to make you see I'm not your enemy"
He continued singing steadily getting a bit louder his voice fitting each pitch perfectly. Eyes drifting closed he let his mind wander along with the music not even caring if someone came along now. In his own little world he sang to the night.

Post by Azazel & Rhoderick and Almond on Jun 23, 2010 16:23:50 GMT -5
Azazel ran. Rhoderick was unconscious on his back. But he carried his "brother", eyes wildly zipping this way and that. He was in immense pain. Blood spewed from his leg, only to dissapear, however his wound would not go away. He was afraid. Foor himself, and his rather depressing counterpart. He dashed through corridors, and ran blindly into walls in the chill night, his ruckus probably disturbing students. Let them be disturbed. For he was surely disturbed.
It had all started when they had wandered through this school of... freaks. After the hard time he had when Rhoderick started hitting on a couple of girls, he had hoped that his other half could jsut elave things alone, but no. Suddenly, they had run into this crazy demon lady, that screamed something. They had been assaulted. She was screaming insults, about revenge, and how she was going to kill them. Rhoderick had stood up for his brother when Azazel had been hit by a terrifying bolt of lightning.
They managed to escape soon enough, however, and they had run. Run away from the school of freaks, back to their drinking and gambling, and drug-use. They wanted nothing to do with it. They were simple men, with simple goals. And a school full of insane witches who could rattle the air and shoot lightning, and strange girls that could do terrifying things, that was jsut not their forte.
This would have been fine. Running would have been the best solution. Untill they ran across some crazy guy with wings, screaming something about a queen being defeated. They chose to ignore it as a bad acid trip - but he had big glistening wings and a scary-ass sword. He had simply loped Rhoderick's head off when he told the stranger to keep it down, but before he could do anything else, he had simply melted, and fallen to the flar, almost like his body had decayed.
All of this. Was. Crazy. Too much for Azazel. His brother had been killed. He was very upset. He cried, even. But when Rhoderick's head started to re-attack itself to his limp body, it was a little too much. he shouted, yelled, made some kind of loud noise. But then more crazy protestors, more blood shed. He just ran. Carrying his brother, he blindly ran for cover, back into the school. It was night-time by now, and he wasn't even tired. He just ran away, trying to find some sanctuary.
That was how he had arrived, a wound on his leg bleeding, but no blood coming out. A limp, possibly dead brother on his back. And the terrifying thought of mroe crazy warriors, that wanted to kill their queen.
This was when he saw the singing boy, and skidded into his room and closed the door behind him, depositing his brother's body on the floor. He panted, and slumped to the floor, crying.
Rhoderick, by now, had awoken, and he was feeling groggy. Real groggy. Was this what a hangover felt like? Jesus. He saw the kid and called;
"Please, please get me some water. I need a drink. I suppose you don't have any beer, do you?" He asked, before slumping next to Azazel.
(Hope this is OK. I really want a thread with these guys ^_^)

Crazy people stalk me...
He was enjoying his me time for once. Singing peacefully to the night with his darling Ruby in his lap. Then it all went to hell when two complete strangers shove him into his room and slam the door. Cursing violently with the mad chittering of the squirrel on his shoulder he made it to his hands and knees before actually seeing his invaders. One was bleeding? Wait no. Maybe? One looked dead, maybe.
"What the hell is going on? Who the hell are you?" He snarled getting to his feet flicking his gaze from one man to the other. Why was it that in the last week or so he was plagued with weird and or crazy people? "And no I don't have booze! Alcohol is disgusting."
But he did have a water bottle beside his bed. He grabbed the bottle and hurried over to the two. "Here, now explain yourselves or I'm getting the authorities." Where those authorities were he had no idea but he'd find someone in this bloody school even if he had to run around screaming all night long. He was really getting sick of people barging into his life and simply taking over and demanding things from him.

Rhoderick snatched the water hungrily and drank deep. His throbbing headache started to subside, and he felt completely refreshed. At least kids were good for something. He sighed and held out the bottle to the boy.
"What Rhoderick means," Said Azazel, sitting up and looking at the wound on his leg. it seemed to have ehaled however, and he smiled, and got to his feet. His red hair was in a mess, and the hat he had been wearing earlier that day was totally ruined. He was still shocked at Rhoderick's recovery. He had thought he was dead. But he passed it off as someother crazy thing. "What Rhoderick means, is thank you, and that we are terribly sorry for bursting into your room like this." Azazel said with a look of concern on his face. The last thing he wanted to do was to get someone else angry.
Rhoderick sighed. Azazel was such a gay sometimes. He got up, and slumped abck down again, his ehad spinning. Whatever. it wasn't exactly like standing up made a difference. He rolled his eyes at his brother's lame words and cracked his knuckles.
"Why should we have to apologize? We've been running from freaks all day, I even lost my god damned head, and we have to be sorry for ruining some kid's time alone with... some sort of squirrel!?" He said, in a low voice, as if the words were cutting his mouth on the way out. He was really pissed off, and this wasn't helping. He wanted a drink, and a nice soft bed. It wasn't like anything in his life was really worth waking up for, after that.
Azazel kicked Rhoderick in the ribs. He was such a git sometimes. All he wanted was some cover, and time to think. He had unfortunately walked in on some kid, and people liked their privacy. He hoped the kid wasn't terribly pissed off, but he looked pretty damend annoyed. Azazel sighed and held out his hand.
"I'm Azi. Freak magnet." He said, hoping that an introduction would help calm him down.
(OOC: It was a good post. Not so sure about mine - something might need to change, or something. Anyways, enjoy~)

The freaks keep finding me.
He glared at the man who had looked dead then to the man who was quickly apologizing.Well, they did appear to be in some sort of distress so maybe he should cut them a break. They looked hurt or kind of, and the apologizing one seemed so stressed out that Jay felt bad for the poor fellow. Sighing he ran a hand through his hair and went to sit on his bed watching the two wearily. Then the half dead looking one had to go an ruin it.
Standing he didn't care what these two had gone through that day he was not about to be treated like this just because someone else was having a rotten day. "I don't care what freaks you ran into. I don't care if you've died three times today. I only care that you barge in, demand something from me, and then be rude to me. I've done nothing toward you and frankly if you piss me off I'm ready to freaking flip." He snarled each word glaring at the two of them. "I've dealt with psycho demon ladies, weird half demons, and wandered around a city for nearly two days! And if I want me time with a damn squirrel thing then I will! It's my room, and if you don't like it go hide somewhere else!"
Chest heaving he wanted nothing more than to just turn into a dragon and beat the crap out of these two just because he probably could. Eyes flicking to the nicer one his glare narrowed. "Yeah, sure. I know the freak magnet feeling." He waved his hands at the two of them before turning to glance at the door wondering if anyone had heard him yelling. "Why can't people just leave me alone." Mumbling he went to check the hall and not seeing anyone came back to them.,
"Okay, what do you need? Food? More water? A place to stay?" He rubbed the back of his neck his head was suddenly killing him. Ruby squeaked and glided down from the dresser she'd been hiding on top of to land on his shoulder. His hand lifted to her instantly staring at the two waiting for them to jump him and hurt him or something.

"Pdsycho demon lady! Did she happen to be about this big," Azazel held his hand at about Aponi's height, "and have brown hair and be either really horny or really pissy?" he said, his eyes wide. He didn't include the other things she ahd said, because they ahd disturbed both himself and Rhoderick.
Rhoderick, however had concentrated more on the part where he had asked if there was anything else. He had no qualms of taking advantage of this, and so decided to ask the boy for things, despite his previous rage.
"Wel, some Guinness, and new york cheesecake wouldn't go amiss, about now. And Azi probably wants a cigarette." He smirked, throwing the boy a questioning look, before looking back to the horified Azazel. Jesus, he was such a pussy sometimes. And what was he blathering about a demon lady?
Ok, maybe they had met some crazy bint that had shot a uge plume of what appeared to be superheated dust at them. So what that she had screamed; "HOW DARE YOU!?" and had hurled insults. and she had said; "How could you abandon me, and mother, and Charlie. CHARLIE'S DEAD!" Rhoderick wasn't exactly sure why, but when she said the last thing he had felt very veyr very upset. He had had to run, without being able to find out more.
His deductive skills were not compromised by such constraints as Azazel's stupid bubbly personality. he was down to the point and very blunt. Ok, sometimes he was a bastard and he was constantly in a bad mood, but it got the job done. He had kept his so called "brother" out of enough jams.
However, he had realized that he was, rather, the woman thought he was, her father. This idea might seem outrageous, however ater a day like theirs it was plausible. Rhoderick had managed to keep track of time since they had awoken. And they had been alive for over a hundread years. He kept this to himself, because he didn't want to frighten Azazel.
And, maybe this psycho demon lady really was their daughter, and she knew something about them. However, in all honesty, he didn't fancy their chances if they ever did meet again. he'd have to talk to his red-haired counterpart.
Azazel Looked at Rhoderick and then back at THe kid. Uh-oh. He'd have to undo the damage he assumed RHoderick had done.
"Well that is, it would be nice, but under the circumstances, you look much too young for alcohol and cigarettes, and you needn't give us your cheesecake if you have any, if you don't want." Damn it. he really wanted cheesecake now too. "But I.. I don't mean anything by calligng you...y'''young or anything!" he nervoudsly scratched the back of his head and bobbed on his feet. "I was just saying that... Well. Oh deary deary me." he frowned and slumped down once more.

Time for a countdown
He nodded slowly at the description of the woman shocked that yet another set of strangers had run into the same demon. Was there only one demon in New York or something? The polite guy was okay with him and if it had just been this guy who'd ran into his room he wouldn't have minded at all. But no he had to bring along the rude one that he wanted to punch. The guy reminded him of well himself, which two Jay's in one room was not a good mix.
"I have none of those things. If you need food I can sneak down to the kitchens and get you something like a meal. And if you need a place to stay you can stay here. But I'm not about to try and get you any of the things you listed." He crossed his arms giving the guy a glare before turning his attention back to the nicer one. "Don't worry about calling me young, because, well, I am."
Now if the guy had called him a kid then he would have had a problem but a simple statement of being young wasn't bad. He wasn't old or middle aged so thus he was young. Did that guy just say deary me? Blinking he bit the inside of his cheek to keep from laughing. When was the last time he'd heard that. If these guys were old enough for those things then what were they doing in the school? Did just anyone who was weird frequent the place or what? He thought it was a school for young people that needed to go to such a place. Not place for random weird people to populate.
Going to the hallway once again he still didn't spot anyone which told him that he was being poorly watched at this stupid school. If someone decided to kill him in his sleep or kidnap him they would have no problem doing so in this hell hole. He rolled his eyes and went to a crate beside his bed and took out another water bottle from the rigged ice chest. Taking a long drink he turned back to the two weirdos and sighed. "Either give me a reason to let you stay or get out. Those are your choices. You have until I count to twenty in my head to decide."[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Rhoderick was about to make some snappy comment, Azazel could tell, but he did NOT want to aggrovate this dude. For all he knew, HE could be some weird freaky monster thing, too. So he gave his counterpart a sharp kick in the ribs.
"If we could stay here it would be wonderful." He smiled. "We've had a bit of a rough day, as you can probably tell." he chuckled lightly and scratched the back of his head nervously. In an attempt to make conversation he continued;
"I heard your singing, earlier. It was very melodic. Most singing I do is shanties in pubs." He laughed and stood awkwardly, looking down at Rhoderick, who was unconscious.
Azazel looked at the boy and realized that he didn't know his name. He might as well ask - and maybe ask about what the hell this place was anyway.
"So, erm, what's your name? And what is this place? We kind of just wandered in here."

Pillow time. He nodded at the staying over request and set to finding some pillows and maybe a blanket or two for them to use. Seeing as he collected those kinds of things to make a giant nest of comfort he had plenty to spare. Jay grabbed four pillows and three different types of blankets varying on thickness and fabric. He didn't know what type of people they were or how cold they got at night so it was best to provide options.
Glancing at the guy he narrowed his eye wondering if the guy actually meant the compliment. After minute of thinking he shrugged and continued with setting up their makeshift beds. He moved to set Ruby on the bed when he realized he'd been listening to his music this entire time. Good thing he had great hearing and one of the earbuds had fallen out of his ear. Ipod quickly tucked away in a drawer he got a key and locked the drawer before turning back to the odd pair.
"I'm Jay, this is the Academy for Gifted people, and the flying squirrel," he turned to point at the small fluffy rodent eyeing the two strangers, "is my best friend Ruby. Be careful she's not very nice to strangers."
Jay grabbed a huge pillow from the bed and went to the window seat soon to be joined by a gliding Ruby. He snuggled into the giant pillow black hair shining in the moonlight his milky blue eye like that of marble. "So where did you guys come from? Not many people can just wander here."

Azazel laughed at the creature. It was kind of... funny. He stared at Jay, who seemed to be going to fetch blankets. He hummed his approval, and watched Rhoderick eye up the squirrel and lick his lips. Aazazel kicked him!
"Derick!! Don't you think about it! Remember how you felt when Moosy died?" He said, his eyebrows raise din shame. Moosy was their old pet mouse lemur, who had died a few years ago. Azazel couldn't exactly remember how many, however. Rhoderick had been distraught when she had died.
Rhoderick's face turned pale as he remembered her. Tears rolled down his face.
"Moosy." he said, and he elant his head down. Why did she have to elave him? She was so cute, and so friendly. He loved her from the first time he had met her. And several years later she had died. Just like all the other pets they had died. Azazel had simply clutched his brother's shoulder, and grimaced, ebfore burying her, and moving on. He was so bubbly. He realized that things just moved on.
"Hey, Derick? Sorry." He said, plainly.
"You know, Jay, I used to be a singer. I can't quite remember what happened though." He laughed a little.

Looking for a wishing star. He had no idea who they were talking about but he figured he'd stay out of it. Staring out at the night he wondered why his life was suddenly plagued with random people. And so many of them just so happened to be demons. Maybe it was a bad omen or something to be surrounded by demons. Sighing he rested his head on the large pillow staring at the sky. The polluted city with its many bright lights kept him from seeing the stars he longed to see again. Back at the place he used to call home there had always been stars. Something to gaze at with the foolish belief that someone was watching over him. His brother was sure, but even he couldn't stop his father's rage.
A sad sob of a word entered his musings and he turned his gaze over to see that one of the boys was crying. Not knowing what was going on and not wanting to get into it he kept his mouth shut. They must of had an even worse day than he'd first thought. But he was still tired from his journey about the city and highly disheartened that he'd lost touch with his brother once more. They were lucky to be with each other, but he doubted they knew that.
When they randomly addressed him he grinned at them sadness shining in his eyes. "Oh? Um, cool. Sorry you don't remember though." That was so not him, he was a smart aleck with quick come backs. What was this passive attitude? Maybe he was tired? Sighing he turned his blue gaze back toward the sky wishing for stars. But if there weren't any stars he guessed there was nothing to wish on.

Rhoderick dashed the tears away from his eyes. This kid had no right to see what his problems were, and he didn't want to have to burden the poor bastard. He quick;y walked up to the window and scowled. No stars. Damned cities. He looked at Jay;
"You miss 'em too?" he asked gruffly. "Me too. But there's no point dwelling on it." He said, ebfore withdrawing a half empty bottle of vodka from his pocket and drinking it's contents contentedly. He sighed and slumped down to the floor once more.
Azazel looked at Derick with a look of bemusement on his face. That was awful nice of him, to try and console Jay. he had no idea what they were on about, before glancing out of the window. There were no stars here. He liked stars. They were pretty.
"When you say gifted, you obviously don't mean stupid but worth teaching anyway. Because you don't appear stupid. So is it people that are artistically gifted? Or, musically? It's musiclally isn't it. Jesus, I knew there were some weird musicians out there, but none like the freaks we saw today. Hell the demon lady used to be a real good singer!" he laughed a little, rather nervously, before wrestling with Rhoderick for the dregs of the vodka. He giggled girlishly before standing up, and binning the empty bottle. He suddenly lookes at Jay, with a sharp look in his eye.
"You say not many people can come here... is this some sort of crazy initiation? To test our nerve? So when we become famous musicians we don't lose it? Because, i really don't think that we want that..." Rhoderick rose to his feet and looked at Azazel.
"If we're famous musicians, we'll have lots of money."
"Oh yeah! And we acan buy cigarettes!"
"And mouse lemurs!"
The two stopped and looked at each other.
"AND ALCOHOL!" THey shouted, linking arms and dancing about.
Azazel turned to jay;
"We don't know where we come from. I'll say Chicago. Now, when can we begin! We want fans! and money!" He said, rubbisg his hands and licking his lips.

Talking to two jabbering walls.
He nodded not looking at him when the guy mentioned the stars. Being away from home never really bothered him because he never felt like it was home. But this place certainly didn't feel like home either. Maybe he'd never find a place that was home, maybe home wasn't something that was for everyone. Thinking hard he stared into the night sky for the most part ignoring his two unwelcome guests. A part of him just wanted to tell them he'd be outside wandering the halls if they needed him, and to just make themselves at home. Anything valuable was locked up anyway.
Glancing over as they figured it was a school for gifted artists he rolled his eyes. "Oh boy. You have no clue what kind of place you just stumbled upon." He shifted to dangle his legs over the edge of the window seat facing them head on. "In the morning I can take you to the head person's office here. They can guide you to where you guys need to go. I can't really tell you much if you're really not supposed to be here. Kind of like a private club kind of thing."
The two were babbling and probably hadn't heard a thing he'd just said. Rolling his eyes he snuggled the large pillow close again pulling up his legs to lean against the window. Tomorrow certainly was going to have an interesting start. Now he just had to make sure he didn't lose his cool or something like that to let out what this place really was.

Aazazel snapped to attention. It wasn't! There wernt his dreams of fame and fortune. He sighed. But the prospect of a private club sounded good. He walked up to the boy and sat next to him and gave him a hug.
"Thank you!" He said, before waltzing away. Rhoderick scowled. The poor kid probably thought he was some sort of crazy sex offender, which he wasn't - Azazel just liked hugs. Rhoderick stood up, and went over to the boy, while Azazel looked around at the walls and furniture and various other things adorning the walls.
"I think I'm beginning to understand something about all of this. Azazel is clueless, as always. I take it you're a student here." he said grimly. "And I take it that you have a special power, too?" He asked. Rhoderick wanted to keep Azazel in the dark about everything that had thus far happened. He got a feeling that if his "brother" found out, that there would be big trouble. They would get to know the full story, at least, and it would have serious reprocussions.
Azazel joined the others once more.
"Jesus, I'm bored and tired at the same time. Fancy that, eh?" he asked, giggling.

Ruby, the mighty dragon protector! There he was all peaceful and staring at the sky when he was suddenly being hugged. Why must everyone invade his personal space? At least the hug didn't last all that long, which was good. The red head sure was an odd one and extremely friendly at that. Watching the red head he wondered what kind of person the guy was but his thoughts were soon interrupted as the darker haired one came over.
Ruby bared her teeth at the man and Jay pulled her in close glaring at the guy. Anyone that Ruby didn't trust he tended to get defensive around, but she didn't like many people so he tended to get defensive a lot. But that wasn't all that new to his personality anyway. "Yes, I'm a student here. That's why I live here." Actually he lived here because his overly violent father wanted him dead but they really didn't need to go into that right now.
With an evil grin he petted Ruby staring down at her as he continued to answer the guy's questions. "No, I don't have a special power." Nope he just so happened to be a dragon is all. No special powers. Technically he would have some sort of power if he bothered to eat charcoal but that wasn't happening any time soon. He loved being able to tell the truth yet dodge the truth at the same time. It was so much fun and gave him a rush every time, which probably wasn't a good sign.
His gaze went up to the friendly one when he came back and Jay grinned a bit. He definitely liked this one better. "I know the feeling. Tired but don't quite want to go to bed?" Ruby leaned toward the red headed stranger her large eyes bright with interest. People who were nice to Jay the squirrel tended to be friendly to and horribly adorable, but if they sounded the least bit threatening then...well teeth were bared. Besides animals can sense when their masters are uncomfortable around certain people and whenever the dark haired man came close Jay would tense up. That muscle tensing let her know that Jay didn't like the guy or in her animal mind didn't feel safe. So she presented herself as a mother protecting her baby, but the nice was she could handle. Jay relaxed when he came near so so did she. Odd how well animals can read people
