Cian had just had an encounter with a random acdemy student who was no doubt even now on his way to report a rouge vampire on campus. Being a decade old vampire you'd think he had a grip on himself better than this. But no! One look at a rose bush and he blacksout and attacks the closet person to him! There had to be a way to prevent this kind of thing form happening again!
The sun was beginning to come up so Cian ducked into the medical center and glanced about. He'd find a comfortable spot to sit and wait for the good doctor to come in for the day. Cian could spend the daylight hours here while the doctor tried to figure out a way to prevent the psycho episodes. There had to be something he could do, how was Cian expected to help with the younger vampires when they get out of hand when Cian himself could turn on them at a moments notice?! Not that he had to help with the younger ones, but he felt it was his redemtion for killing so many for his own selfish needs. So when the vampires that were hired here for such purposes were unavaliable Cian offered his help in controling the younger bloodthirsty vampires.
He found the Dr. Redwicke's office and sat down in one of the cushioned chairs and leaned back. He closed his eyes and waited.

It wasn't Dr. Redwicke that arrived at the office first, it was his assistant (and girlfriend) Georgia, as per usual. She always arrived early to set up the practice for the doctor, prepping the examination rooms and getting out the files he'd need for the day. Georgia walked in wearing her usual glamorous business attire; a grey knit pencil skirt and teal satin blouse under a white lab coat. She walked right past Cian, not noticing the young man blending into the chairs of the waiting room, and busied herself with her usual morning routine behind the head counter. When at last she looked up and saw the peculiar sight, she didn't jump or make any indication of alarm. She smiled at the vampire with a welcoming set of perfect white teeth.
"Mr. Dax," She must have an Eidetic Memory, "It's getting a bit late for you to be up and about, isn't it? What can I help you with?" The woman sounded so calm, conversing with a creature of the night. She checked with her wrist watch to ascertain the time Chase might arrive. Five minutes. Sun up wasn't for another hour or so, and she figured this meant they'd have time.

Cian opened his eyes and watche dthe woman going about her business, only moving form his reclined position when addressed. He stood in a fluid motion and strode across the room to stand before her. Hello.. Georgia wasn't it? I need to see the Doctor. It's kind of... urgent. he said not wanting to alarm her with revealing what exactly had happened an hour ago. His eyes were a fierce green, a black longsleeve sweater hugged his muscled chest, his jeans a bit loose but fitting his hips quite well. He wore black loafers that seemed to be very comfortable and suited the rest of his outfit. HIs sandy blndish brown hair was cut short but still hung in his eyes the slightest bit.

Georgia smiled at his recognition. They'd only met once before, and she was accustomed to patients and clients not remembering her name. She wasn't the important one here though, and she accepted that Chase was the one people came to see, not her. She nodded at his request, not thinking it strange or asking what sort of emergency he had to address with the doctor.
"He should be arriving shortly. Would you like to wait out here, or in one of the rooms?" She gestured down the sterile hallway next to the desk she stood at now. "I personally think the chairs out here are nicer, but if you'd like some privacy while you wait..." She left the sentence open to his interpretation, letting him know she didn't mind where he chose to wait.

Cian smirked and shook his head. I don't mind waiting out here if you're going to be about. I could use the company. It keeps me sane. So tell me how you have been? he asked her as he leaned on teh reception desk. He flashed her a disarming smile. Cian was a charmer when it came to girls... but only when he was around them. He didn;t go out of his way to find women to flirt with.

Georgia returned his smile as he leaned over into her territory. She might be seeing the doctor, but she was still her own woman. She wasn't about to go dating their clients or anything like that, but harmless flirting was just that. Harmless.
"I've been well, thank you," She replied, pushing chocolate locks over her shoulder, "It looks like Summer might actually arrive, but I suppose that's not something you look forward to. Longer days, shorter nights," Georgia clarified, entertaining a worrisome frown, "But the weather will be much nicer, day or night," she added brightly, turning to the computer and opening a few files. As she was doing this, the door opened, and as predicted Chase arrived.
"Morning Georgia," He greeted automatically, and when he saw Cian leaning over the desk toward her, he nodded, his usual jovial smile on his mouth, "You too, Cian. Hope I haven't kept you waiting long," The doctor looked up at the clock on the waiting room wall to confirm that he was still early. Well, it didn't matter how early you were; if there was a patient there before you, you were late!
"What keeps you out so late?" As he strode forward, he gestured down the hall Georgia mentioned earlier, prepared to escort the vampire into one of the offices.

Yes... longer days aren't really all that favored by the vampire. he commented. He straightened when the doctor came in and nodded in greeting. I needed to speak to you about a matter that happened earlier. he said walking with Chase down the hall. When they entered one of the rooms he leaned against the wall, suddenly feeling anxious and didn;t want to sit down. I attacked a student about an hour ago. I'm sure he's already reported me but I needed to speak to you about it. his voice was serious now, his eyes narrowed as he thought of the incident and teh cause. He hated roses. But he dearly missed his sister.

Georgia offered Cian a departing smile as the doctor lead him away, and went back to the task she'd started on the computer.
Dr. Redwicke listened to the vampire's story as they walked into the first examination room, and when Cian mentioned he'd attacked a student, the good doctor froze. Cian went on to explain the student had likely already filed a report, and this had Chase sigh quietly in relief. The student wasn't dead.
"Did you injure him? Bite him?" Was there any possibility this student would turn into a vampire? His first priority was the well-being of the students at this school. His second task was to learn why Cian had done what he did. But first came first. "Was there blood spilled?" If there had been, Cian might not have been able to control himself. All vampires had varying degrees of self-control, but even the ancient ones had a hard time fighting the urge of open wounds. Cian was what... ten years old? In vampire years?
He turned to his desk and opened the newest e-mail from Georgia, which contained Cian's file. He nodded, confirming the ten years to himself, then closed the file. He'd learn everything he needed to know from the vampire himself, he decided. No need to consult his file until later.

Cian shook his head. No, the boy is fine. I didn'tlearn his name though. he came forward and sat o the edge of the chair by the doctor's desk. I blacked out. And the next thing I knew I was on my knees getting kicked in the back! Cian didn't yell, just point emphasis on what had happened. I didn't smell any blood. And apparently I was so wild that the boy was able to take me down, thank the gods. he said the last part as a softer whisper for his gods alone to hear. I don't know what would have happened if I'd actually been able to draw blood. I've only been 'sober' for three years. using the word sober to refer to not drinking human blood.

Chase nodded, immensely relieved that the subject of Cian's 'drunken' episode was in fact, unscathed. He made a mental note of how long Cian claimed he'd been without human blood and nodded.
"I think we can take an educated guess at what would have happened. But moving on," He continued, "What triggered it? I believe you mentioned last time that you can get emotional over specific memories. Try not to think of them now, I'd prefer it if we had you restrained before we attempted an experiment, but do you remember thinking of these things before you... blacked out?"
A vampire's anathema, though quite powerful, was still very mysterious to Chase. He'd only been studying vampires as long as Cian had been part of the Academy, which wasn't a whole lot of time to comprehend the entire species.

Cian nodded grimly. There were roses too. The boy said there was a rose bush nearby. I must have been staring at them thinking of her. he said refering to his little sister Rosalin. Dr. Redwicke... I want you to use me to try to figure out a way to prevent this kind of thing from happening. We become very dangerous around the anathema. I could have killed that boy, or worse. his mind flashed back to three years ago when he'd blacked out and ended up turning a high school graduate by the name of Kolton Garner.

The rose anathema. Chase's memory snapped back into focus, and he nodded again as Cian continued to explain. At his request, the doctor's face turned somber.
"We can try to prevent it all we can. But a lot of it will have to do with self control, and being able to recognize when one of these anathema-induced moods occur." Chase wrote a messy note to himself on the notepad on his desk, turning away from the vampire temporarily.
"I am in contact with the groundskeeper, and I'll ask her to remove any roses immediately. This should at least help with accidental loss of control, and you should feel a bit safer on school grounds." Despite the seriousness of the situation, Cian giving Chase the excuse to converse with Cerridwen again made him smile. He turned this smile over to Cian, to give the vampire a sense of confidence and security.
"As for thoughts of your sister, I wonder if you would be opposed to seeing a psychologist? I understand they have excellent thought-deviant techniques. This might help you maintain control of your body as well as your mind."
He wasn't sure if Cian would be opposed to the idea of talking out his psychological issues with a professional. Many people found the idea repulsive, or insulting. But Chase was a doctor, and even he knew the extent of his own healing capabilities. When it came to mental situations, it was beyond his knowledge. He might be able to read people's minds, but he wouldn't know the first way to fix them.

Cian thought about it a moment. Laying his personal thoughts out to be examined like that? He sighed and leaned back in the chair. Alright. You're the doctor. If you think it will help keep me from harming people then i'll do it. Just get it set up so that I won't be in the daylight. he said and leaned his head back with an exhausted sigh.

Chase nodded, glad that Cian wasn't protesting his idea. "It might do you some good. It's definitely a step in the right direction." He paused while Cian adjusted his position and turned to his computer, opening the vampire's file and typing something into it.
"Thank you for allowing me to study you," He added conversationally, "I haven't had this opportunity before. Hopefully through our sessions together I'll learn of a way to nullify your anathema. Or at least help you control yourself. Or... not be a threat to others. I'll try to talk with security and sweep this under the rug as a minor indiscretion. No blood, no foul," Chase wondered if his little play on words was inappropriate, but he felt that the urgency of Cian's situation had passed.
The doctor's fingers flew over the keyboard once more as he added on last note to the bottom of the screen, then he closed the window with the push of a button. He swiveled back around to give Cian his full attention, should the vampire have more concerns to voice.

Cian sighed exhaustedly as he sat back up to look at Chase. Just make sure you get some results from your testing. I don't want this to be in vain. he stood then and held out his hand to Chase. Just let me know when you're ready to start. For now I'm going to find a windowless room in this place and get some rest til sundown. he said. Cian didn't have enough time to get back to his apartment across campus. He'd have to spen teh day here in the medical center.
