Peyton, who had previously been in an self-induced coma, gurgled somewhat to life when a new girl came to sit next to her. "Wha-?" she began, temporarily blind-sided by the foreign accent, and then completely distracted by the girl's outfit, "oh my God!" After her exclamation, she immediately did the sign of the cross; conscious of the fact that she really shouldn't be taking the big Man's name in vain.
"You are so pretty!" she told the Italian enthusiastically, bug-eyed and impressed in traditional Peyton style; completely missing the point. "Ahem," she coughed slightly, gathering herself, "uuuhm, no. We're issued our own, but I guess yours must be on the registry or something if you're new. Go ask Kennedy dude, he's our tutor." Her attention, which had been short lived anyway when she began doodling hemp signs at the corner of her paper, was stolen again when somebody that she would hazard to guess was Elliot, took the seat on the other side of her.
"Elliot!" she gasped, almost sobbing in happiness now. The spaz had been dying in super tedious boredom; what sparse brain cells she possessed, disintegrating from the pressure of having to think so much. She was being dramatic, of course, to compensate for the over-silence and the project she wasn't likely to finish.
Peyton made to hug the other girl, the relief she felt overwhelming, but curbed her excessive joy in the next moment. "Oh, you look sad again," she pointed out; proving that despite her smoke addled mind, there was still something worthwhile living in there.

Skye flushed at Peyton's colorful praise, thanking her with a winning smile. Making friends suddenly didn't feel that difficult. When Peyton moved on to talk about individual usernames, the new student frowned and looked to 'Kennedy Dude'. Yes, she knew she'd have to see the teacher eventually. He looked a little young to be heading a class though... Were all the teachers this young? And good-looking? Skye would have to be blind not to notice what an attractive young man Kennedy was.
But she was distracted when Peyton moved on to speak to Elliot, and thoroughly interested in meeting as many people as possible on her first day, Skye leaned over to join in on the conversation.
"Sad again? Are you always sad?" Elliot hadn't looked very sad when she was on the phone earlier. Skye hadn't really been paying too much attention; she'd been chatting with Peyton. But something about the other girl struck a chord with Skye, and although she couldn't put a finger on it she was determined to figure it out.
She wasn't trying to ignore Aaron. Aaron was a very nice boy. But he was a boy, and that in itself was his downfall. Skye was looking for girlfriends today, and when Skye had her heart set on something, she was quietly determined to get it. Everything else was put on hold, which included her username, this project, and Aaron the boy.

"No, I'm not sad, I'm just, nothing." She paused, bright blue eyes flicking toward the computer screen only to see that it was still booting up. Sighing, the Almasian turned back to Peyton with her usual smile, though there was a touch of sadness in it at her next admittance. "I was just thinking about Dorian."
The computer made a gleeful noise and Elliot turned her attention away from her friend so that she could log in, chewing on her lip only until she heard Eiji's warning in the back of her head and ceased. Skye's voice tore her from her thoughts just a momentl ater and Elliot leaned around Peyton to look at the other girl for a moment, seeming something like quizzical and decidedly earnest.
"I used to be. Not anymore though. Peyton seems to think I'm a current depression case though." Looking at her friend with a teasing grin, Elliot's electric blue gaze landed on Skye once more as a tiny giggle escaped her.
"I thought you would be glad. I showed up sober, didn't I?" Thoughts of stale romances left her quickly enough as she made another joke directed at the dealer besides her, her smile looking much closer to honest and sweet now.
